Well at last Cheltenham is finally here and at 1.30 the famous roar will go up round Prestbury Park. It looks as hard as ever to pick the winners but I will put in a short write up for the four days to try to find some horses that represent the best value.

The first race, the Supreme Novices Hurdle, has one of my fancies for the week in Mister Fisher. Since he won on Boxing Day at Kempton he has looked a star in the making and he can get Nicky Henderson’s meeting off to a terrific start. The favourite Al Dancer has a tendency to get excited and could blow up before he gets to post. In the Arkle, Glen Forsa and Lalor are all the rage but Henry De Bromhead’s Paloma Blue has done very little wrong this season and may be the answer. The most open contest of the day is the Close Bros Novices Chase and Gordon Elliot has sent over Roaring Bull. He lives up to his name as he is a big strong individual who can brush the other contenders aside and power up the hill to victory. My favourite trainer has a runner in the last, the National Hunt Chase. Henry Daly runs Atlanta Ablaze and the gelding has done very little wrong this year with three wins. He does have a tendency to make the odd mistake, but with a clear round he can seriously trouble hot favourite Ok Corral.
