Game Week-4
Saturday 13th
ARSENAL v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
12.30 in England
TNT Sports
The turmoil of the Summer Transfer Window is over with quite a few dramas from several clubs including Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal suffered a narrow loss against Liverpool at Anfield last time out.
Both teams seemed to cancel each other out with just a brilliant Dominik Szoboszlai free kick being the difference giving Liverpool the victory by a 1-0 scoreline.
Although the Gunners have brought in a few players, it was difficult for Arsenal to create chances against Liverpool, who, to be fair, will probably win the Premier League Title after eventually bringing in Alexander Isak.
The goals need to come against the others.
Arsenal sit in 3rd place with the same 6 points as Tottenham, Everton, Sunderland and Bournemouth, all having played 3 times.
Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Declan Rice all started for England against the Mighty Andorra.
One says that tongue in cheek as Andorra are not any of Argentina, Brazil, Spain or France but made England look very average at Villa Park where Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions laboured to a victory by a 2-0 scoreline, with one of those being an Andorra Own Goal.
TT then blamed the England fans for the poor performance, which came off the back of a poor performance against Andorra over in Barcelona back in June, on top of losing against Senegal.
Hello!
Message to Thomas-
‘We weren’t playing!’
The following prediction can be made-
‘England WON’T, repeat WON’T win the World Cup next year!’
It’s all happened at the City Ground during the International Break with Nuno Espírito Santo being sacked (which was predicted) and subsequently replaced by Ange Postecoglou.
All the best Big Nuno and Big Ange.
Nottingham Forest suffered a surprise defeat against West Ham at the City Ground before the International Break.
After everyone (including this EveryTip column) stated that the Hammers were poor, Nuno’s Tricky Trees suffered the home defeat by a 3-0 scoreline and in truth, were outplayed by Graham Potter’s team.
Forest sit in 10th place with the same 4 points as Manchester United, Brighton and Leeds from the opening 3 games completed.
In last season’s encounter between these two teams at the Emirates, it was the home team that gained the victory by a 3-0 scoreline.
Bukayo Saka scored the opener in the 1st-half, with Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri adding the others after the break to give the Gunners the win over the Tricky Trees.
Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 2/5, the Draw at 18/5 and 15/2 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/4 that Viktor Gyokeres Scores First and 23/20 that Arsenal Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v BRIGHTON
15.00 in England
Bournemouth gained a great away victory over Tottenham in North London last time out.
A single Evanilson goal scored after 5 minutes gave the Cherries the brilliant win from a 1-0 scoreline.
That gives Andoni Iraola’s boys the same 6 points as Sunderland, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal from the opening 3 games played.
Brighton blew away Man City at the Amex before the International Break.
After Man City had taken the lead, goals from James Milner (a converted penalty) and Brajan Gruda gave Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls the win over Pep’s Low Flying Blues by a 2-1 scoreline.
James Milner is the 2nd youngest goal scorer in Premier League history after scoring for Leeds United back on Boxing Day in 2002 aged 16 years and 356 days old.
That record broke Wayne Rooney’s goal-scoring feat of 16 years and 360 days old when Wayne scored for Everton a couple of months earlier.
James Vaughan currently holds the record for being the youngest Premier League goal scorer after also scoring for Everton in 2005 aged 16 years and 271 days.
Now Jimmy M is the 2nd oldest goal scorer behind Teddy Sheringham with the goal against City coming aged 39 years and 239 days old.
Nice one Mr Milner.
Brighton sit in 11th place with the same 4 points as Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United, all having completed 3 games.
It was the Seagulls that flew away with the points when the Cherries hosted Brighton at the Vitality last season.
Goals from Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma gave the away team the victory by a 2-1 score.
David Brooks scored a very late consolation goal for Bournemouth in the 93rd minute.
Carlos Baleba was shown a 2nd Yellow Card and the subsequent Red on the hour mark, when the score was 2-0.
Betfred offer Bournemouth at 7/5, the Draw at 5/2 and 17/10 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 13/2 that Antoine Semenyo Scores First and 13/5 that Kaoru Mitoma Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CRYSTAL PALACE v SUNDERLAND
15.00 in England
Crystal Palace smashed Aston Villa at Villa Park a fortnight ago.
Goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Marc Guehi and Ismaila Sarr gave Oliver’s Eagles the win from a 3-0 away day score.
Marc was supposedly then on his way to Anfield after a deal was agreed between Liverpool and Palace before the Transfer Window shut, however, that move was eventually scrapped with reports that Mr Glasner threatened to walk away if Marc Guehi was sold.
The problem with that is Marc’s contract only runs until the end of this season so the lad will probably end up at Anfield, if not in January, then certainly next summer.
Plus, that’s for nothing, when Liverpool were prepared to pay £35 Million now.
Sunderland got a last-minute winner against Brentford at the Stadium of Light.
Brentford scored in the 77th minute to take the lead and added to that had previously missed a penalty earlier on which could have made it 2-0.
Enzo Le Fee converted his penalty scoring an equaliser for Sunderland in the 82nd minute.
When it appeared a draw was on the cards, Wilson Isidor scored the winner in the 96th minute to sting the Bees and give the home team all 3-points from a 2-1 scoreline.
Sunderland sit in 6th place with the same 6 points as Bournemouth, Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal from the opening 3 games played.
It was February 2017 when Crystal Palace last hosted Sunderland in the Premier League.
Goals from Lamine Kone, Didier Ndong and a couple from Jermaine Defoe gave David Moyes’ Black Cats the victory over Sam Allardyce’s Eagles by a 4-0 away day scoreline.
Probably the surprise was that all 4 goals were scored before the half-time break.
Betfred offer Crystal Palace at slight Odds On 4/6, the Draw at 11/4 and 9/2 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and 6/4 that Crystal Palace Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

EVERTON v ASTON VILLA
15.00 in England
The Jack Grealish Derby.
After suffering a defeat in the opening game against Leeds, Everton are now 2 from 2 in the Win column following a narrow yet convincing victory over Wolves a fortnight ago.
Jack Grealish was sensational at Molineux providing assists for Beto to score the opening goal and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s 3rd for the Toffees giving David Moyes’ boys the win from a 3-2 score.
Iliman Ndiaye scored the 2nd for Everton.
JG is on fire at the moment and it was evident watching the England games that Mr Tuchel needs to get Jack back in the team for the International games in October.
Everton sit in 5th place with the same 6 points as Bournemouth, Sunderland, Tottenham and Arsenal, all having completed 3 fixtures.
Aston Villa are struggling having just 1 point from the opening 3 games following a Draw and 2 Losses.
Last time out, Villa got smashed by Crystal Palace suffering a home defeat by a 3-0 scoreline.
Unai Emery has brought in a couple of players hoping to try and get Villa back on track.
Victor Lindelof, Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott have all come into Villa Park and all should be on show today.
Villa currently sit in 19th place with 1 point from 3 games played.
A single Ollie Watkins goal scored early in the 2nd-half gave Villa the away day victory over the Toffees by a 1-0 score at Goodison Park last season.
Betfred offer Everton at 6/4, the Draw at 11/5 and 15/8 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 17/2 that Jack Grealish Scores First and slight Odds On 4/5 that Both Teams Score.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

FULHAM v LEEDS UNITED
15.00 in England
Fulham sit in 18th place with 2 points from the opening 3 games, coming from 2 Draws and a Loss.
Following drawn games against Brighton and Manchester United, the Cottagers suffered a defeat by a 2-0 scoreline against Chelsea before the International Break.
Leeds gained a well-earned point against Newcastle in a dismal game at Elland Rd a fortnight ago.
Both teams failed to find the back of the net resulting in a draw from a 0-0 scoreline, leaving Leeds with the same 4 points as Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.
The West Yorkshire Puddings went off into the City Centre and shared a pint of Kopparberg with 6 straws all singing their iconic tune,
Marching On Together.
Fulham gained the home victory over Leeds last time the West Yorkshire side ventured South to Craven Cottage in April 2023.
After a goalless 1st-half, Harry Wilson and Andreas Pereira scored the Fulham goals before a deflected shot from Patrick Bamford went in off Joao Palhinha meaning the Cottagers got the win over the Whites by a 2-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Fulham at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 12/5 and 16/5 for Leeds United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Rodrigo Muniz Scores First and 9/4 that there are Under 1.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NEWCASTLE v WOLVES
15.00 in England
The Alexander Isak affair is over with the inevitable news that Alexander has gone and headed to Anfield.
Eddie Howe has brought in the German Striker Nick Woltemade as well as Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.
Newcastle played in a dreadful game against Leeds United at Elland Rd last time out, with the lack of attacking options for both teams resulting in the game finishing in a goalless draw.
That leaves the Magpies in 17th place with the same 2 points as Fulham from the opening 3 games played.
One suggests that with Alexander finally leaving, Newcastle will be in a better shape.
Wolves suffered a narrow defeat against Everton at Molineux before the International Break.
Hwang Hee-Chan and Rodrigo Gomes scored for Wolves, however, Everton scored 3 goals to ultimately inflict the defeat on Vitor Pereira’s Gold and Blacks by a 3-2 scoreline.
Wolves haven’t registered a point yet and currently sit at the foot of the table with Nil Points from the opening 3 games.
Newcastle gained the victory over Wolves in last season’s affair between the two at St James Park.
Alexander Isak scored a goal either side of the break with Anthony Gordon then adding a 3rd to give Eddie’s Magpies the win over Vitor’s Gold and Blacks by a 3-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Newcastle at Odds On 4/9, the Draw at 7/2 and 13/2 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Yoane Wissa Scores First and 7/4 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WEST HAM v TOTTENHAM
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
The Mohammed Kudos Derby.
‘Mo Ku’ will no doubt get a great reception from the Bubbles in attendance.
After the first 3 games where Graham Potter’s Hammers suffered 2 defeats in the Premier League and 1 in the Carabao Cup, it was a visit to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest who had Won 1 and Drawn 1, surely a victory was out of the question?
Not so, West Ham kicked into action and got a great win over Nottingham Forest by a 3-0 away day scoreline.
After a goalless 1st-half, goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Callum Wilson gave Harry Potter’s Hammers the brilliant victory which leaves West Ham in 16th place with the same 3 points as Brentford, Burnley and Man City.
Tottenham played brilliantly against Burnley getting the opening day victory, then heading up to the Etihad and beating Man City.
Surely the home game against Bournemouth was a nailed-on win?
Not so, Bournemouth came to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and gained the victory by a 1-0 scoreline.
So it’s back to the drawing board for Thomas Frank who has had 2 weeks to ponder on that game against the Cherries and set up for this London Derby.
Tottenham sit in 4th place with the same 6 points as Arsenal, Everton Sunderland and Bournemouth.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score in last season’s encounter at the London Stadium.
Wilson Odobert scored the opener for Tottenham after 15 minutes.
Jarrod Bowen then scored an equaliser for West Ham just before the half-hour mark to take both teams in level at the break.
With no further goals in the 2nd-half both Londoners went home with a point apiece.
Betfred offer West Ham at 12/5, the Draw at 5/2 and 11/10 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/1 that Mohammed Kudos Scores First and 11/5 that Brennan Johnson Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BRENTFORD v CHELSEA
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
The West London Derby.
Brentford suffered a narrow defeat against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last time out.
Kevin Schade had the chance to give the Bees a lead when Brentford were awarded a penalty in the 59th minute.
Unfortunately, Kevin had his tame shot saved.
Igor Thiago, who probably should have taken the penalty, scored the opener in the 77th minute which was quickly equalised by Sunderland.
With time running out, a draw looked the likely outcome, until Sunderland scored the winner in the 96th minute to inflict the defeat on Brentford by a 2-1 scoreline.
Brentford sit in 15th place with the same 3 points as West Ham, Burnley and Man City.
Chelsea got part 1 of 2 West London Bragging Rights following the victory over Fulham at Stamford Bridge before the International Break.
A goal from Joao Pedro and a converted Enzo Fernandez penalty on either side of the half-time break gave Enzo Maresca’s Blues the win over Marco Silva’s Cottagers by a 2-0 scoreline.
That’s 2 wins and a draw from the opening 3 games leaving Chelsea in 2nd place with 7 points.
Cole Palmer has been missing for the games against West Ham and Fulham and didn’t play for England but should be back for this back-to-back West London Derby.
Chelsea sit 2nd behind Liverpool with 7 points from the opening 3 games, now being 1 of only 3 teams along with Liverpool and Crystal Palace who remain unbeaten.
Sky Sports have decided to show this game on Saturday Night which is brilliant for the single girls and boys who don’t have to watch Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel on Ice, which the married couples, including the Manchester Ball Thrower have to endure.
However, that said, last season’s West London Derby between the Bees and the Blues ended in a draw by a 0-0 score, or as some might say, a goalless draw.
One hopes there will be goals tonight.
Betfred offer Brentford at 18/5, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 8/11 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 2/1 that Chelsea Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 14th
BURNLEY v LIVERPOOL
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Burnley could consider themselves unlucky following the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Josh Cullen was credited with United’s opener before Lyle Foster scored an equaliser.
United scored a 2nd which again was equalised by Jaidon Anthony.
With time running out, it did appear a draw was on the cards before Burnley conceded a penalty allowing United to score the winner in the 97th minute, leaving the Clarets with a defeat by a 3-2 score.
Burnley sit in 14th place with the same 3 points as West Ham, Brentford and Man City.
The Alexander Isak Saga, which lasted 59 days, finally came to an end with a day remaining of the Summer Transfer Window.
A fee of £135 Million was agreed meaning AI Technology is now a Red not a Black and White.
There was all sorts of subterfuge used by various people which allowed Alexander to eventually get to Anfield, however, in truth, it should have been a fairly easy process.
No club in the history of clubs is going to turn down £135 Million for a player who doesn’t want to play for them.
Liverpool were in for Marc Guehi but that particular deal was different.
Marc wasn’t causing problems and was quite happy to stay at Crystal Palace.
Alexander Isak didn’t want to stay at St James Park and had down tools.
So it was just a matter of how much Liverpool were going to pay and how much Newcastle would accept.
It’s now going to be interesting to see how Arne Slot is going to set up his New Machines.
Is Alexander going to play alongside Hugo Ekitike and Mo Salah?
Who will be dropped from the starting lineup?
Dominik Szoboszlai scored a brilliant goal against Arsenal last time out, giving Liverpool the narrow victory by a 1-0 score.
The starting eleven for Arne’s New Slots against Mikel’s Young Guns was as follows-
Alisson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahim Konate, Virgil Van Dijk, Milos Kerkez, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Mo Salah, Coady Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
Which one of those players is going to drop out for Alexander Isak?
And before anyone says,
‘Maybe Alexander won’t be in the starting lineup.’
That may be the case for this game, however, a club doesn’t pay £135 Million for a player who isn’t going to start most Premier League games.
The problem (if one thinks it is a problem) is a good one and one for Arne Slot to sort.
As a Premier League football fan, one can only be excited about watching Liverpool play and it’s now 5/4 with Betfred that the Premier League Title is staying at Anfield.
It was Boxing Day 2023 when Liverpool last took on Burnley at Turf Moor.
Klipperty’s Klopp’s gained the post-Christmas victory over Vincent Kompany’s Clarets by a 2-0 away night score.
Darwin Nunez scored the opener to give Liverpool the lead at the break.
The late great Diogo Jota then scored the 2nd in the 90th minute to give the Reds all 3 points.
Betfred offer Burnley at 17/2, the Draw at 9/2 and Odds On 3/10 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 10/3 that Mo Salah Scores First and 11/10 that Alexander Isak Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MAN CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
The Manchester Derby rounds off the Game Week-4 post-International Break set of Premier League fixtures.
Man City are just rubbish at the moment with Pep Guardiola scratching his head at the performance of his players in the last 2 games.
After Erling Haaland had scored to give City the lead at the Amex against Brighton last time out, Pep’s Low Flying Blues conceded 2 Seagulls goals to ultimately suffer another defeat by a 2-1 scoreline.
Ederson has departed for Fenerbahce, with the Italian Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma coming in which should mean that James Trafford drops to the bench.
It does appear harsh on James who probably only re-signed for Man City thinking he was going to be first choice, however, when a Goalkeeper of Mr Donnarumma’s class becomes available, then City have to sign him.
Most may think Gianluigi Donnarumma is in his 30s, however, that’s not the case, as the Italian International is only 26, meaning his best years are ahead of him.
That said, Pep likes his Keeper to be comfortable with the ball at their feet which GD may not be used to at first.
Mr Guardiola will sort that out.
Ilkay Gundogan has left too, heading to Galatasaray.
Man City sit in 13th place with the same 3 points as Burnley, Brentford and West Ham.
One needs to have a few sentences regarding the current Manchester United situation.
A lot of football fans liked to watch United when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, maybe not as a fan but loved Mr Ferguson’s teams.
Peter Schmeichel, Denis Irwin, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Andrei Kanchelski, Paul Ince, Ryan Giggs, Lee Sharpe, Mark Hughes and Eric Cantona plus the class of 92′, then Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest up to 2014.
One loved watching United play but since Mr Ferguson left, the club are just rubbish.
There’s the horrendous phrase banded around about Manchester United being in ‘transition!’
Thirteen years is a long ‘transition period.’
The Glazers?
The players?
The Manager?
At the end of the day, Manchester United are currently useless and going through a bad period in history, however, the question to ask is, will they return?
The hierarchy need to take ownership of the club and situation and start knocking heads about, it wasn’t Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal that knocked United out of 1 of only three Cup competitions that Ruben Amorim can win, it was Grimsby Town.
After conceding 2 goals and being outplayed, United eventually got back to 2-2 but then lost a penalty shootout.
Only one thing to say about that.
Up the Fish!
Following that disaster, United scraped a victory over Burnley by a 3-2 scoreline, with the winner coming in the 97th minute after Bruno Fernandes converted a very late penalty.
Burnley’s Josh Cullen was credited with United’s opener to give the Red Devils a lead at the break.
Burnley scored an equaliser before Bryan Mbeumo added a 2nd.
Burnley again equalised to make it 2-2 going into the 97th minute when Bruno converted the late penalty to give United the victory over Burnley from a 3-2 scoreline.
In last season’s Manc Derby at the Etihad, it was the Red Side of Manchester that gained the Bragging Rights with United getting the victory over City by a 2-1 scoreline.
Josko Gvardiol scored the opener in the 36th minute to give Man City the lead at the break.
United left it late to not only equalise, with Bruno Fernandes converting a penalty in the 88th minute but then getting the winner in the 90th with Amad Diallo scoring to give United all 3 points.
Betfred offer Man City at Odds On 4/6, the Draw at 3/1 and 4/1 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 3/1 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 21/10 that Man City Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
