EPL Week 33 Predictions – Weekend Premier League Tips

John Newsome Football Betting Tips - everytipIt has often been said that the Kop has the ability to suck the ball into the goal and that’s exactly what appeared to happen, when farcical defending by Spurs handed Liverpool a dramatic late winner on Sunday. The own-goal kept the Anfield men firmly in the title hunt. Does John Newsome see them picking up another vital 3 points, when they face Southampton on Friday? SOUTHAMPTON v LIVERPOOL
Friday Night Football live on Sky Sports.
Southampton got a great 1-0 victory over relegation rivals Brighton on Saturday and with Cardiff’s subsequent loss against Chelsea, the 3-points gained takes the Saints 5-points away from the relegation places and on the same 33-points as Brighton. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored Southampton’s solitary goal against the Seagulls. The Saints do have a game in hand over Burnley who also sit on 33-points and with Brighton playing in the FA Cup Semi-Final this weekend, both Burnley and Southampton could pull away from Chris Hughton’s men, however, a game against title-chasing Liverpool is probably not what Wreck-It Ralph would have wanted to possibly gain an advantage over the relegation teams fighting survival.

Liverpool temporarily went back to the summit of the Premier League Table after their workmanlike 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday. Man City subsequently regained top spot midweek after their victory against Cardiff. This sequence will probably be the norm for the remaining few games until one of the team buckle under the pressure. Liverpool will have played a game more than City after this Southampton game and due to Man City still being involved in the FA Cup, Liverpool have the chance to leapfrog back to the Top and stay there a little longer as both don’t play until the following Sunday. Roberto Firmino got Liverpool off to a great start against Tottenham but couldn’t capitalise on the early goal and allowed Tottenham back into the game after the break. In truth, Jurgen’s men were quite fortunate to get the victory and had to rely on Toby Alderweireld scoring an own goal in the 90-minute to get the 3-points. Noel and Liam were halfway through their rendition of “Ozzie’s Dream” when Toby scored. It’s rumoured that a few tellys were put through in Moss Side. That’s 12 out of 15 points for Liverpool which is all that can be asked as the pressure mounts in their quest to win their 1st ever Premier League Title and their 1st Title for 29-years (as football did exist before the Premier League, it just used to be called Division One)
This reverse fixture back at Anfield at the end of September finished 3-0 in favour of Liverpool. The unfortunate Wesley Hoedt put through his own goal to give Liverpool a head start and Joel Matip and Mo Salah completed the scoring to give Liverpool the win with all the goals coming in the first half.

Bet 365 offer Southampton at 7/1, the Draw at 15/4 and Odds On 4/11 for Liverpool to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 3/1 Mo Salah Scores First (Mo’s due a Goal!) and 14/1 Sadio Mane Scores Anytime and Liverpool to Win 3-0.
Away Win 0-3

NEWCASTLE v CRYSTAL PALACE
Newcastle were comfortably beaten by Arsenal away at the Emirates on Monday Night Football. Brilliant organisation from the Premier League Fixture Compilers sending the Toon Army down to London on a Monday night. The 2-0 defeat against Arsenal left Rafa’s men on 35-points which, although not mathematically safe, should, in theory, give them another season in the Top Flight and Rafa should be up there with the rest of the Manager of the Year Contenders. Newcastle were promoted to the Promised Land a couple of season’s back along with Huddersfield and Brighton. Huddersfield are heading back to the Championship. So both Rafa and Chris Hughton should be applauded for the management of their respective clubs.

Crystal Palace were also beaten 2-0 by the other North London club Tottenham on Wednesday Night and sit just above Newcastle in the Premier League Table on 36-points and like their rivals, today, although not mathematically safe, should be ok for another season in the Top Flight. The Eagles had the distinct honour of playing in the 1st Premier League game at Tottenham’s New Stadium, however, couldn’t spoil Tottenham’s party and succumbed to the loss. Roy Hodgson will put that game to bed and will want to get something out of this long trip up to St James Park to put any lingering relegation thoughts out of the heads of the Eagles faithful.
This reverse fixture back in September at Selhurst Park finished goalless without much to write home about.
Bet 365 offer Newcastle at 7/5, the Draw at 11/5 and 2/1 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 6/1 Salomon Rondon Scores First and 10/1 that Newcastle beat Crystal Palace by the Scoreline of 2-1.
Home Win 2-1

HUDDERSFIELD v LEICESTER
Huddersfield’s 4th loss in a row, a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace confirmed their relegation from the Premier League after 2 brilliant seasons for the Terriers and their faithful. Whilst it was inevitable that they would be relegated and only the 2nd team after Derby back in 2008 to be relegated before the clocks go forward, the fans should be proud of their team and still have the proposition of visiting Anfield and Tottenham’s New Stadium and hosting Manchester United at the John Smiths so the faithful’s season is not over just yet. In truth, Huddersfield weren’t good enough and the enthusiasm they had in their first season in the Premier League wasn’t matched this time around. Jan Siewart should stay around to see if he can follow in his compatriots David Wagner’s footsteps and quickly get Huddersfield back into the Top Flight although he will have to visit Oakwell next season.

Leicester beat Bournemouth 2-0 on Saturday giving Brendan Rodgers and his new Foxes 3 wins in a row. Wes Morgan got his 2nd-goal in consecutive games which is a great return for Big Wes considering he wasn’t even in the starting eleven 2-weeks ago and in theory, only started against the Cherries because of Harry Maguire’s sending off in the previous game. Sheffield Superstar Jamie Vardy got his obligatory goal which is his 13th of the season and a brilliant return for Jamie. Leicester are 9th in the Premier League Table and 5-points behind Wolves in 7th-place and depending on League and different Cup Winners could theoretically catch Wolves and gain access to the Europa League. That’s for the future, for now, Brendan has calmed the ship at the King Power and regardless of where Leicester finish this season will use the time he has had to decide who he wants and doesn’t for next term. Rod Stewart has only just stopped crying because Brendan left his beloved Celtic, helped by the Green and Whites beating Rangers on Sunday. You’re Celtic, United but Brendan has decided that the best place for him is Leicester.

Bet 365 offer Huddersfield at 4/1, the Draw at 5/2 and Odds On 8/11 for Leicester to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 4/1 that Jamie Vardy Scores First and 15/8 for Leicester to Win to Nil.
Away Win 0-2

BOURNEMOUTH v BURNLEY
Bournemouth were beaten 2-0 away at Leicester last Saturday and have now recorded a Win, a Draw and a Loss in their last 3-games and have accrued 38-points which should be enough to keep their Premier League status for next season. David Brooks got another 90-minutes under his belt after injury and a game with the Welsh National Team training alongside Real Madrid Superstar Gareth Bale and Barnsley FC Superstar Ryan Hedges. David will have learned a lot from both.

Burnley got a much needed 2-0 victory over Wolves at Turf Moor on Saturday giving them breathing space over Cardiff at the foot of the Premier League Table now with a gap of 5-points over the Bluebirds after Cardiff’s defeat against Chelsea on Sunday. A Connor Coady own goal and an excellent strike from young Burnley sensation Dwight McNeil gave Sean Dyche’s men the brilliant victory over a Wolves side who had one eye on their midweek fixture against Manchester United and the other eye on their FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley. Dwight has just turned 19, is English and has a great future in front of him. Sean won’t like to hear this, but it is inevitable that the Big Boys will be monitoring Dwight and may just mount a transfer coup on the young forward.

This reverse fixture back at Turf Moor in September ended in an emphatic 4-0 victory for the home team. Matej Vydra, Aaron Lennon and a couple from Ashley Barnes gave Burnley the great win.

Bet 365 offer Bournemouth at 21/20, the Draw at 5/2 and 12/5 for Burnley to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 8/1 that Bournemouth Win from Behind and 6/5 Burnley Win Either Half.
Draw 1-1

EVERTON v ARSENAL
Early Sunday Afternoon Football live on Sky Sports sees the Toffees entertain the Gunners.
Everton have slowly gone under the radar these past few weeks getting two brilliant 2-0 victories at home against Chelsea and away at West Ham last Saturday. Kurt Zouma and Bernard got the 1st-half goals against the Hammers taking the Toffees onto 43-points which is more than enough to keep them away from the relegation places and give Marco Silva a good grounding to build for next season. It was touch and go for Marco a couple of weeks ago with a lot undecided but the Silva Swingometer has definitely swung in favour of Marco and his stock is rising on Merseyside. The Toffees faithful should keep faith with him and get behind their team as Marco may just bring the good times back to Goodison Park.

Arsenal beat Newcastle 2-0 on Monday Night Football taking the Gunners above Manchester United and temporarily above their North London rivals into 3rd in the Premier League Table. With Tottenham beating Crystal Palace midweek Arsenal drop back to 4th. The departing Aaron Ramsey scored the opener in the 1st-half against the Magpies with Alexandre Lacazette getting the second late on in the game. The Gunners faithful must be wondering how on earth they have let one of their best players leave the Emirates for nothing. Unai Emery now has to go out and buy a player of Aaron’s ilk which will cost him near on £60 Million plus wages. Arsenal will feel a Top 4 finish is well within their reach but 5 out of their 7 remaining Premier League Fixtures are away from the Emirates and their away form isn’t that great. They do have the added advantage or distraction, depending on how the faithful will look at it, of the Europa League so may still make the Champions League if they don’t finish in the Top 4.

This reverse fixture back in September at the Emirates finished 2-0 in favour of Arsenal with the 2 on fire front men, Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang and Alexandre Lacazette scoring both the goals in the 2nd-half.

Bet 365 offer Everton at 11/5, the Draw at 13/5 and 23/20 for Arsenal to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 6/1 that Richarlison Scores First and 10/3 that Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang Scores Twice.
Home Win 3-1

CHELSEA v WEST HAM
Monday Night Football live on Sky Sports brings game week 33 to a close.

Chelsea took advantage of a slip up by Manchester United and leapfrogged the Pink Devils into 5th-place in the Premier League Table after a great 3-0 victory over Brighton on Wednesday. With Tottenham and United not playing this weekend, a victory against West Ham will take Chelsea into the Top 4 above Tottenham and depending on how Arsenal get on at Everton, could go above Arsenal too, however, Arsenal will have played a game less. Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were the Wednesday night Sarri-Ball scorers with Maurizio Sarri finally starting Ruben and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Callum had the unusual accolade of playing for England before he had started a Premier League game for Chelsea, which will, unfortunately, become a regular feature in the years to come as most Premier League teams are owned and managed by non-English personnel who won’t take a chance on the young talent. With Chelsea facing a transfer embargo, Maurizio Sarri or whoever will be in charge will have to play the youngsters more and more and may be a factor in Callum and Ruben and any other youngsters at Stamford Bridge deciding to stay. Chelsea, like Arsenal, do have the added advantage or distraction of the Europa League if they don’t make the Top 4 and the irony could be that they face each other in that particular final. What would be funny is, say, for example, Chelsea finish 4th and Arsenal 5th and then Chelsea beat Arsenal in the Europa League final, or for that matter the other way round.

West Ham were well beaten at the London Stadium on Saturday evening by a revitalised Silva Toffees. It appears to be Win One, Lose One at the moment for the Hammers after the last 5-games and on that basis, West Ham should win this game at Stamford Bridge, however, that will be tough ask for Manuel Pellegrini’s Bubbles. Marco Arnautovic seems to be the villain of the peace at the London Stadium after wanting to leave earlier on in the year. Marco even rang a few of the Hammers faithful to ask for forgiveness. He might need to contact Vodafone and ask for more minutes on his contract as he may need to ring about 50,000 of the faithful to try and get back in the Bubbles good books. West Ham are safe and will want to finish the season strong but including this game at Stamford Bridge, do have to travel to Old Trafford and Tottenham’s New Stadium in the remaining fixtures.

This reverse fixture back in September at the London Stadium finished in a drab 0-0 draw with neither side wanting to score.

Bet 365 offer Chelsea at Odds On 1/3, the Draw at 9/2 and 13/2 for West Ham to come away with all 3 points.
Bet 365 offer 16/1 for Eden Hazard to Score First and Chelsea to Win by the Scoreline of 2-0.

Home Win 2-0
