1. Robin Goodfellow
Goodfellow publishes tips for all UK meetings and has consistently outperformed other newspaper tipsters at SP. This is despite a huge readership and fanatical following, which obviously brings down the starting prices of his selections. 9/10
2. Steve Mullen
The Sun’s second-string tipster is first rate and has been outperforming Templegate. He publishes tips for all British meetings. 8/10
3. Greg Wood
The Guardian’s Greg Wood tends to play it safe, but gets good results. His Guardian tips page does not get a lot of traffic, so you won’t get many bets on his picks. 7/10
4. Marlborough
The Daily Telegraph’s Marlborough performs OK, but you can do better. He has a tendency to pick too many exposed horses. 6/10
5. Templegate
A better tipster than Marlborough, but not by much. Far too many punters follow his tips and back them. This makes for poor starting prices. Avoid. 6/10
