Now back to our professional horse racing tips.

ASCOT

13:50 The Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes (Group 3) 6f

Royal Intervention looks a class act and sure to come on from his listed win last time out at Newmarket. Under the exact same conditions today, and a similar course configuration, along with speed figures miles ahead of the rest, 2/1 is starting to look like value here.

Royal Intervention 2/1

14:25 The Porsche Handicap Stakes 1m

These three year-old class 2 handicaps are always difficult to decipher. Aquarium looks good each way value at 11/1. He is up in the weights but may be improving more than the rest. Ryan Moore is on board, 18% strike rate with Trainer (51% place strike rate). Trainer is profitable to SP bets on 3 year old races at Ascot and Ascot is where he makes the most prize money.

Aquarium 11/1

15:00 The Gigaset International Stakes (Heritage Handicap) 7f

And finally we get a race we can stick our teeth into. Here is the shortlist to back dependant on the price. So far all are at decent prices.

  • Cardsharp 16/1
  • Mubtasim 28/1
  • Makzeem 10/1
  • Firmament 16/1
  • Oh This Is Us 40/1 (has claimer on board to ease the penalty from the hike in weights but has won at course before and therefore is considered)

15:40 The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Qipco) (Group 1) (British Champions Series) 1m 3f 211y

This is a tight race to call. I could make a case for Cracksman, Poets World, Cystal Ocean and Hydrangea. However lets whittle it down.

Rule our Cracksman as held by Poets World last time out.

Rule out Crystal Ocean as while its improving, it still needs hasn’t won a Group 1 yet.

Rule out Hydrangea (scary to do so as we know O Brien is able to repurpose a horse campaign and win at a trip that wasn’t the plan during the year)

Therefore we are left with Poets World who can also improve at this trip and seems to be in perfect order for this race

Poets World 9/4

YORK

14:05 The Skybet Britain’s Most Popular Online Bookmaker Handicap Stakes (86-105) 7f

Get Knotted looks primed to win this.

Get Knotted 3/1

14:40 The Sky Bet Dash Handicap Stakes (0-105) 6f

No strong opinion here but Tommy Taylor is a worthwhile each way bet as likes this track.

Tommy Taylor 12/1

15:15 The Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2) 1m 2f 56y

Forrest Ranger is a good price for Richard Fahey to win on his home turf.

Forrest Ranger 5/1
