Epsom: Derby Day – ITV.
This looks like a great days racing and I can say that there is a lot of confidence behind today’s selections.

14:00 The Investec Private Banking Handicap Stakes
3 year old handicaps are not the best race type to analyse due to the fast progressive nature of this age group. However, this race seems to favour Indomeneo greatly. Only 1 lb higher than its highest official rating, and having 100% success on soft going and showed last time out that he can make the trip, this is very well priced for people who like an each way bet. While the official going is Good to Soft, the going stick shows a rating that equates to Soft, which plays to the strength of this horse
Indomeneo 15/2 Each Way
14:35 The Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Investec)
This is a good betting race with a lot of questions marks about which horse can hanlde the trip. While Anna Nerium posted the fasted speed figures, this was over 7f and looks like the extra 1.5 furlongs may not suit. Therefore only one contender stands out and that is Lincoln Rocks. Has proven to like all of todays conditions and seems a great value bet at 4/1.
LINCOLN ROCKS – 4/1 – NAP
15:10 The Investec Diomed Stakes (Group 3)
You may have noticed that I like the horse Gabrial. It ran well last time out in a Group two and is in cracking form, going by that speed rating he posted. As Arod is now a non runner, Century Dream looks like his biggest contender, however at 10/1 and with Frankie Detorri on board, this is a great value bet. Feel free to bet win/place on the exchanges as you will get paid up to three places.
GABRIAL 10/1 – NB
15:45 The Investec Corporate Banking ‘Dash’ Handicap Stakes
Edward Lewis has been the most consistent runner lately but there is always a question mark regarding his inability to win a class 2 handicap after 11 attempts. The same can basically be said for Dark Shot. Therefore we will take a punt on Storm Over who we hope can come on from the last run. The trainer had two winners 5 days ago so we hope the stable is back in form.
STORM OVER – 22/1
16:30 The Investec Derby (Group 1)
While Saxon Warrior is no doubt the class horse in the race, it is very hard to take 10/11 about a horse who has to prove it can make the step up from 1m to 1m 4f. Therefore Young Rascal is the obvious each way bet here at 11/1. Improving and proven on going and distance. Trainer is also in amazing form. This looks like a stand out each way value bet. YOUNG RASCAL 11/1 – EACH WAY
