A quick look at Saturday’s action from Seymour Biz, who will be providing a race-by-race guide to Royal Ascot later today. A David O’Meara inmate, unlucky in recent outings, is part of this weekend’s Lucky 15 wager. Find all previous UK racing previews in his weekly column: Saturday Horse Racing Tips.
With three meetings to look forward to on Saturday here are my thoughts for an each-way Lucky 15. In the 2.40 at Chester there is a winner from last week looking for a quick follow-up. Gravitas won at Newmarket, he was pushed along and took command a furlong out. Trainer Mark Johnson has sent him out quickly for this convinced he can go in again. In the 3.15 at Sandown, Johnson is going for a double across the card with Masham Star. This horse has dropped down the handicap but has been knocking on the door recently, his last three runs have been eye catching. Up at York in the 2.25 we have David O’Meara’s Firmament, one of the unluckiest horses in training. He was hampered last time at Epsom, but ran a cracking race here at York previous to that. The drop in distance to 7f may suit. In the 3.35 l will side with Cosmic Law after his fine second at Chester last month, he ran on well and pressed the winner and he may have needed that run after being gelded. Blown By Wind is the danger after his second to Awe last week but top weight may just hold him back.
