Welcome to the greatest horse race meeting on the planet! While the prize money may not be at the level of Sha Tin or Santa Anita, the five days of racing are when the world and his wife come to show off their finery.

Saturday sees the race with the most prize money of the meeting, the QE II Jubilee Stakes. This Group 1 is backed up by two Group 2s and a Group 3. The card then finishes off with two Class 2 Handicaps and a long distance Conditions race.
So ITV Racing are there for every race on the card, and here are my thoughts for value on the final day of the meeting, along with a Lucky Fifteen.

For my bets at Saturday’s Royal Ascot card, I’ll look at four of the final five races on the card. The richest race of the whole meeting is at 3.40, the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes run over 6 furlongs of the lush Ascot turf. The current favourite is from Australia, Chris Walker’s Joliestar, who is a multiple Group 1 winner down under, but has he ever met opponents of this calibre?
Donnacha O’Brien’s Comanche Brave easily won a Group 2 at the Curragh last month and comes here in good heart.
Legal is a Japanese entry trained by Haruki Sugiyama and has been placed in both his starts this year, including a fine second at Meydan in March.
Another Japanese runner is Satono Reve, trained by Noriyuki Hori, who was a well beaten second at Sha Tin in April in a Group 1. More is required here.
Andre Fabre sends Sajir over from France. He won a Group 1 at Deauville last August and won a Group 3 at Chantilly last month in preparation for this. He can go close.
So we come to the home contingent, Andrew Balding’s Flora Of Bermuda won a Listed race at Newmarket last month in preparation for this, but she was not convincing.
William Haggas’s Lake Forest also won a Listed race last month at Haydock. She won that easily but beat very little.
James Fanshawe’s Kind Of Blue makes appeal to me. He is a past course and distance winner, and his defeat last month at York seems inexplicable considering he was going so easily a furlong out. I take him not to make that mistake again.
The Jersey Stakes is at 4.20, this is a Group 3 contest for 3-year-olds run over 7 furlongs. A very warm favourite here is William Haggas’s Saber Strike. This unbeaten colt won a Listed race at Newmarket on May Day, then was laid out for this. He will take all the beating on that form.
Aidan O’Brien’s Dorset won a Group 3 last October but has not shown that sort of form so far this season.
Fozzy Stack’s Thesecretadversary won a Group 3 at Leopardstown in April but has disappointed since.
Jim Boyle’s Into The Sky ran 4th in the 2000Gns at Newmarket last month, beaten 12 lengths, and he can go closer here.
Charlie Appleby’s Catullus romped to victory at Goodwood last month in a top-rated handicap. This is tougher.
Ed Walker’s The Prettiest Star was 4th in the 1000Gns and claims the fillies allowance of 3lb. But my preference is for John and Thady Gosden’s Morris Dancer, who is making her seasonal reappearance after winning twice last term, including a Listed race at Salisbury. She can continue those winning ways.
So we come to one of the big betting races of the meeting, the Wokingham Stakes, this Heritage Handicap is a Class 2 race run over 6 furlongs, a real Charge of the Light Brigade for the 28 runners. There are a couple of short priced horses at the top of the betting, William Haggas’s Binhareer and Andrew Balding’s Double Rush.
Binhareer was only beaten a neck at York last month in a hot handicap, and a repeat of that run should see him go close.
Double Rush has won both his start this season, having done all his racing at Newmarket.
Haggas also runs Realign, who won a Class 3 at Carlisle last month and can go well off his low weight.
The Gosdens have the top weight with Spy Chief, who was only beaten by a neck in a Listed race at Salisbury last month. His weight is a problem.
Richard Hannon’s Fandom won at Thirsk three weeks ago in a hard-fought contest. This is much tougher.
Harry Charlton’s Completely Random won twice on the all-weather at Lingfield in January, including a Listed race. He has never won on grass, but Ryan Moore’s booking is noted.
My bet of the week is Joey Ramsden’s Ten Pounds, who showed a return to form when running second in a Listed race at the end of last month at Carlisle. That will have put him spot on for this.
Finally, at 5.35 it is the Golden Gates Stakes, a Class 2 Handicap for 3-year-olds run over 1m2f. David Menuisier’s Lost Boys is the favourite here after winning the London Gold Cup at Newbury last month, his second victory of the season.
However, the second that day, Richard Hannon’s Sahara King is 1lb better off and can reverse those placings. But I consider John and Thady Gosden hold the key to this with their two runners, Accredit and Harmonics.
Accredit won at Haydock and Sandown last season but may want some cut in the ground for his seasonal reappearance, whereas Harmonics has won at Southwell and Doncaster in Class 4s this season. I just give Accredit the nod.
