Game Week-11

Saturday 09th

BRENTFORD v BOURNEMOUTH

15.00 in England

Brentford took the lead against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday Night Football, through a stunning strike by Vitaly Janelt.

Despite the Bees being on the back foot for most of the game, it did look like a win was on the cards when 90 minutes were up on the clock, however, somehow Brentford managed to grab a defeat from the jaws of victory, conceding twice in injury time to ultimately lose the West London Derby by a 2-1 scoreline.

The defeat leaves Thomas Frank’s side in 12th place with 13 points from the opening 10 games played.

Next time Bees, play until the final whistle is sounded, don’t pack in when one thinks it’s all over, because it’s not.

Whilst this EveryTip column did predict a Bournemouth defeat against Man City, there were a few reservations regarding that and John Newsome wasn’t 100% sure that Man City would win, however, when making a prediction, one can only look at the facts and the fact was that Man City had gained a victory over the Cherries in the last 15 games between the two of them.

Fourteen in the Premier League and one Carabao Cup fixture.

Added to that, the aggregate score over the 15 games is 47-8, so it was understandable that a Man City victory was predicted.

That said, having watched both teams play over the last few weeks, Bournemouth were always in with a chance of a win over a Man City team that are stretched to the limit with injuries.

The scoreline of 2-1 to the Home Team was almost predicted but John went safe and put an Away Win.

That’s the phenomenon about making predictions, does one go with what’s happened before or decide on the state of play at the moment?

Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson scored to give Bournemouth the brilliant home victory by a 2-1 scoreline.

Josko Gvardiol did score a consolation but ultimately, it was Andoni’s Cherries that got the win over Pep’s Low Flying Blues.

Bournemouth sit in 10th place with the same 15 points as Newcastle and Fulham from the opening 10 fixtures.

When the Cherries headed up to West London to take on the Bees last season, the fixture at the GTech Stadium ended in a draw by a 2-2 score.

The Archbishop was happy.

Mathias Jensen opened the scoring after 7 minutes to give the home team an early lead, which was equalised by a Dominic Solanke goal to take both teams in level at the break.

David Brooks scored for Bournemouth in the 77th minute and when it appeared an away win was in the cards, Bryan Mbeumo equalised for the Bees in the 93rd minute to give both teams a share of the points.

Betfred offer Brentford at 13/10, the Draw at 5/2 and 9/5 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Bryan Mbeumo Scores First and 8/5 that Evanilson Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CRYSTAL PALACE v FULHAM

15.00 in England

Crystal Palace gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

After a goalless 1st-half, Trevoh Chalobah scored for the Eagles on the hour mark.

Wolves then scored twice before Marc Guehi equalised in the 77th minute and with no further goals both teams shared the points.

Crystal Palace sit in 17th place, just above the relegation zone with 7 points from the initial 10 games played.

Fulham outplayed Brentford on Monday Night Football but left it very late to gain a victory when defeat looked the most likely result.

After conceding a Bees goal in the 1st-half, to trail going into injury time, Harry Wilson, who was sent on by Marco Silva in the 82nd minute, not only scored an equaliser in the 92nd minute but then scored what was ultimately the winner 5 minutes later, to help Fulham grab a victory from the jaws of defeat.

In truth, the Cottagers were the more dominant team but just couldn’t penetrate the Brentford Defence, until Harry came on and scored the goals, one being a superb back flick.

The win by a 2-1 scoreline, leaves Fulham in 9th place with the same 15 points as Bournemouth and Newcastle, all having completed 10 fixtures.

In last season’s encounter between these two at Selhurst Park, the scorer wasn’t needed when both teams failed to find the back of the net, giving Roy Hodgson’s Eagles and Marco Silva’s Cottagers a point apiece from a draw by a 0-0 score.

Betfred offer Crystal Palace at 13/10, the Draw at 12/5 and 9/5 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and 8/5 that Raul Jimenez Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WEST HAM v EVERTON

15.00 in England

West Ham suffered an away defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Hammers conceded 3 goals at the City Ground to succumb to the loss by a 3-0 scoreline.

It was mentioned last week that the victory over Manchester United, which brought an end to Erik Ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford, sort of papered over the cracks at the London Stadium with most not happy with Julen Lopetegui and his Bubbles.

The game against Forest won’t have eased the concerns.

West Ham sit in 14th place with 11 points from the opening 10 games played.

Everton suffered a defeat on Saturday, which could be considered a surprise as the loss was against Southampton who hadn’t won any of their opening 9 games.

After conceding a goal in the 85th minute, Beto did score what looked like an equaliser, however, the dreaded VAR got involved and deemed that the goal should be ruled out for offside.

The defeat leaves Everton in 16th place with 9 points from 10 games.

After a goalless 1st-half at the London Stadium last October, a single Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal scored just after the restart, gave Everton the away day victory over West Ham by a 1-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer West Ham at 21/20, the Draw at 12/5 and 12/5 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 13/2 that Jarrod Bowen Scores First and 16/5 that Beto Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WOLVES v SOUTHAMPTON

15.00 in England

Wolves conceded a goal on the hour mark against Crystal Palace at Molineux on Saturday, then a couple of inspired substitutions by Gary O’Neil saw Jorgen Strand-Larsen and Joao Gomes score to give the home team a lead.

The Gold and Black faithful weren’t happy with Gary’s initial substitutions and vented their frustration by singing,

‘You don’t know what you’re doing!’

However, Gary had the last laugh with his Boys scoring twice.

Unfortunately for the watching faithful, Palace scored an equaliser and with no further goals, both shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score.

After 5 straight defeats, that was back-to-back draws for Wolves added to an earlier drawn game and 2 more losses, leaving Gary’s Gold and Blacks at the bottom of the table with 3 points from the opening 10 games.

Wait for it, wait, wait, here we go.

After 8 defeats and a draw, Southampton finally gained a victory on Saturday, with a single Adam Armstrong goal scored late on in the game against Everton, giving Russell Martin’s Saints the win by a 1-0 scoreline.

Southampton now have 4 points and sit a place and a point above today’s hosts which gives this fixture at Molineux an added extra making it the proverbial 6 pointer.

It was September 2022 when Southampton last played against Wolves at Molineux.

Daniel Podence scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time to give Bruno Lage’s Gold and Blacks the victory over Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints by a 1-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer Wolves at slight Odds On 19/20, the Draw at 13/5 and 12/5 for Southampton to come away with all 3-points

Betfred offer 7/5 that Jorgen Strand-Larsen Scores Anytime and 6/5 that there are Under 2.5 Goals.

BRIGHTON v MAN CITY

17.30 in England

Sky Sports

Ferdi Kadioglu scored for Brighton at Anfield on Saturday to give the Seagulls an early lead against Liverpool.

Unfortunately for the travelling faithful, the Reds scored twice in the 2nd-half to inflict the defeat on Fabian’s Blues by a 2-1 score.

Brighton sit in 8th place with the same 16 points as Tottenham from the opening 10 games.

The Seagulls then flew off to find the Liver Birds for a ‘Wing Off!’

As mentioned earlier in the Brentford v Bournemouth preview, a Man City victory was predicted against Bournemouth at the Vitality on Saturday, purely based on previous results.

However, the 15-game unbeaten run against the Cherries came to an end with Pep’s Low Flying Blues suffering a first defeat of the season.

After conceding 2 goals, Josko Gvardiol did pull one back for the away team.

Unfortunately for the Citizens in attendance, time ran out and Man City were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline.

Arsenal had suffered a defeat earlier on in the day so City had a chance to go 8 points clear of the Gunners, however, the loss leaves Man City in 2nd place with 23 points from 10 games played, still 5 ahead of the Gunners.

With Liverpool eventually winning against Brighton, Pep’s Blues are now 2 points adrift of Arne’s Slot Machines.

Man City were knocked out of the Carabao Cup last week, suffering a defeat against Tottenham by the same 2-1 score.

It is significant that of the 21 goals scored by City in the Premier League this season, there have only been 6 different scorers.

Erling Haaland has 11, Mateo Kovacic has 3, Josko Gvardiol has 3, John Stones has 2, Kevin De Bruyne has 1 and Jeremy Doku has 1.

Added to the significance of that number, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones, who are both Defenders, have 5 goals between them.

Kevin De Bruyne is on that list, yet has only played 4 Premier League games this term.

For a team of Man City’s stature, having only 6 players that have scored in the Premier League, with 1 being injured for most of the campaign and 2 being Defenders, is simply not good enough.

Where has Phil Foden’s goals gone?

Jeremy could do with notching a few more.

Matheus Nunes has stated that he wants to play more and has had a few run-outs of late, yet hasn’t scored in the Premier League, only scoring a couple in the Carabao Cup and one in the Champions League, a penalty against Sparta Prague.

The lad was only allowed to take the spot kick because Erling wasn’t on the pitch.

Bernardo Silva’s goal-scoring contribution has gone missing, Jack Grealish is nowhere to be seen, granted JG has been injured for a few weeks but despite scoring a couple for England, isn’t on the Man City scoresheet.

Savinho has made a few appearances but hasn’t scored yet, neither have the youngsters such as James McAtee, who did score in a Champions League game against Slovan Bratislava and for the England Under/21s but has not scored in the Premier League.

It’s quite obvious that Man City have missed Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne’s contribution with the latter making the bench against Bournemouth on Saturday, however, not seeing game time.

Rodri, who has just been awarded the Ballon d’Or, which basically means the Spaniard is the Best Player in the World, was on crutches when picking up the gong, so will be missing for a while yet.

Pep Guardiola is the Best Manager in the World (Carlo Ancelotti may argue that point) so will know what is needed at the Etihad but it is plain to see that Man City can’t just rely on Erling Haaland and a couple of goal scoring Defenders.

The other attacking options need to come to the party, or a 5th Premier League Title in succession, plus the 7th in 8 seasons, will not happen and the Trophy will be on its way to Anfield.

Man City face Sporting Lisbon in Portugal on Tuesday in the Champions League.

Ironically a Sporting team overseen for the final time by the New Manchester United Manager Ruben Amorim.

Ruben’s hoping to get a lift back to Manchester Airport on the plane taking the City players home, however, Guy Fawkes has more of a chance.

It was Pep’s High Flying Blues that gained the away day victory over Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls in last season’s encounter at the Amex.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden (2) and Julian Alvarez gave Man City the win from a 4-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer Brighton at 16/5, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 8/11 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/2 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 13/10 that Man City Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LIVERPOOL v ASTON VILLA

20.00 in England

TNT Sport

Late Saturday Night Football for the single girls and boys to enjoy with a Pint or a Glass of Wine, whilst the married folk out there have to watch Strictly Some Rubbish (one knows who one is!)

After seeing Arsenal suffer a defeat in the earlier Saturday game, Arne Slot knew that a victory against Brighton would put a gap of 7 points between his Reds and Mikel’s Young Guns.

It then came as a bit of a shock when the Seagulls scored the opening goal to take a lead at the break in front of the Anfield Rappers.

It’s not sure what was said in the home dressing room at half-time but the Liverpool players came out stronger in the 2nd-half and goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah within the space of 2 minutes gave Arne’s Slot Machines a narrow lead that ultimately resulted in a victory over Brighton by a 2-1 score.

The result was made better when news came through that Man City had suffered a defeat, putting Liverpool at the summit of the Premier League with 25 points from the 10 games completed.

Liverpool face the ex-Anfield Hero, Xabi Alonso and his Bayer Leverkusen team in the Champions League-League Phase on Tuesday before this visit from Villa.

There should be Fireworks in that particular game.

All connected with Aston Villa must have scratched their heads at full-time on Sunday in the game against Tottenham at the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium.

Morgan Rogers scored in the 31st minute to give Villa a lead at the break.

The Villains enjoyed their half-time cup of tea not expecting what happened next, with Tottenham scoring 4 goals in the 2nd-half to inflict a devastating defeat on Unai’s Claret and Blues by a 4-1 scoreline.

As the faithful left the Stadium wondering what had just happened, the journey back up the M6 to Birmingham must have been an arduous one.

Aston Villa sit in 6th place with the same 18 points as Arsenal and Chelsea from the 10 games played so far.

Villa are also in Champions League action, heading over to Belgium on Wednesday to take on Club Brugge.

Could the extra days rest and not travelling abroad, give Liverpool the Saturday Night advantage?

At Anfield last season, goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, a Matty Cash OG and a Mo Salah strike gave Liverpool the home victory over Aston Villa by a 3-0 scoreline.

The fixture at Villa Park later on in the campaign, which was the penultimate game of the season, saw both teams share the points from a draw by a 3-3 score, so there should be goals today.

Betfred offer Liverpool at Odds On 4/9, the Draw at 4/1 and 9/2 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 4/1 that Mo Salah Scores First and slight Odds On 19/20 that Liverpool Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 10th

MANCHESTER UNITED v LEICESTER

14.00 in England

As mentioned in last week’s EveryTip column and a bit of an exclusive, Ruben Amorim is to be the next Manchester United Manager.

Mr Amorim is coming into Old Trafford but won’t start the job until after this clash against Leicester.

All the best Ruben.

United gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, as predicted in this EveryTip column last week.

After a very uninspiring 1st-half where neither team troubled the netting, things livened up in the 70th minute when Manchester United were awarded a penalty following a foul by Robert Sanchez on Rasmus Hojlund.

It was a clear-cut penalty that was quickly checked by the dreaded VAR who confirmed the on-field referee’s decision.

The on-field referee being Rob Jones.

Bruno Fernandes coolly slotted home the spot-kick to give the home team a lead.

Unfortunately for the Red Devil faithful, the lead only lasted 4 minutes when Chelsea scored an equaliser.

With no further goals, both teams shared the points.

United moved up a place to 13th with 12 points having played 10 times so far.

Manchester United, still under the Interim Guidance of Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Tra-La-La-La-Lar) host the Greek team PAOK in the Europa League-League Phase on Thursday the 7th of November, which would have been John Newsome’s Old Mums 81st birthday.

Leicester also gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Ipswich at Portman Rd on Saturday.

After a goalless 1st-half, Ipswich scored the opener and when it looked like a defeat was on the cards for the Foxes, Jordan Ayew scored an equaliser in the 94th minute to earn the away team a share of the spoils.

That was Jordan’s 2nd goal of the season and the 2nd scored after 90 minutes were up on the clock, following the winning goal scored against Southampton in the 98th minute.

Steve Cooper has limited Jordan’s chances in the starting lineup, usually sending Mr Ayew on as a substitute, which, as in the game against the Saints and the Tractor Boys, has paid off.

The point gained leaves Leicester in 15th place with 10 points from the opening 10 games, meaning a victory today would see the Foxes jump above United.

The two have recently met in the Carabao Cup where a Ruud Van Nistelrooy-inspired set of United players progressed to the Quarter-Finals by gaining a win over Steve Cooper’s boys from a 5-2 score.

It was February 2023 when Leicester last visited Old Trafford to face Manchester United in a Premier League fixture.

A couple of goals from Marcus Rashford and one from Jadon Sancho gave Erik Ten
Hag’s Red Devils the victory over Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes by a 3-0 scoreline.

Happy Birthday Joanie xxx

Betfred offer Manchester United at Odds On 3/10, the Draw at 9/2 and 13/2 for Leicester to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/2 that Rasmus Hojlund Scores First and 11/10 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

TOTTENHAM v IPSWICH

14.00 in England

Tottenham gained a sensational victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.

Despite conceding a goal and trailing at the break, 2nd-half goals from Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke (2) and a brilliant James Maddison free-kick, gave Ange’s Spurs the win over Unai’s Claret and Blues by a 4-1 scoreline.

As mentioned last week, Tottenham are either Real Madrid or Ryhill Baghdad and in the 1st-half it appeared the latter was on show, however, Mr Postecoglou must have got into his players at half-time who then came out and blitzed Aston Villa.

James Maddison has been dropped to the bench for the last couple of games against Man City in the Carabao Cup and for the fixture against Villa.

Big Ange introduced James in the 82nd minute, with Jim making an instant impact scoring a brilliant free kick to help seal the victory.

Tottenham moved up to 7th place with the same 16 points as Brighton, both having completed 10 games.

Tottenham head over to Greece on Thursday to face Galatasaray in Match Day-4 of the Europa League-League Phase.

Ipswich were seconds away from a first victory of the season, when a Leif Davis goal scored early in the 2nd-half gave Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys a lead against Leicester on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the watching faithful in attendance at Portman Rd, Leicester scored an equaliser in the 94th minute to give both teams a share of the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

The draw leaves Ipswich in 18th place with 5 points from the opening 10 games.

Five draws and 5 losses, with no win on the board just yet.

It was the 22nd of December 2001, 3 days before Christmas, when Tottenham last hosted Ipswich at the Old White Hart Lane.

A Spurs team, with Glenn Hoddle as the Manager, suffered the home defeat by George Burley’s Tractor Boys from a 2-1 scoreline.

Finidi George and Alun Armstrong with the Ipswich goals and Simon Davies with the Tottenham strike.

At Portman Rd, later on in the 2001/02 campaign, Ipswich also got the victory by the same 2-1 score.

Tottenham finished the season in 9th place, with Ipswich finishing in 18th and eventually getting relegated.

Betfred offer Tottenham at Odds On 1/5, the Draw at 11/2 and 10/1 for Ipswich to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Brennan Johnson Scores First and 13/10 that Tottenham Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v NEWCASTLE

14.00 in England

Sky Sports

Nottingham Forest sit in 3rd place in the Premier League table with 19 points from the opening 10 games.

One has not read that incorrectly, Nuno Espírito Santo’s Tricky Trees are 3rd after the victory over West Ham on Saturday.

Goals from Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina gave Forest the home win at the City Ground by a 3-0 scoreline.

That’s now 3 wins on the bounce for Nuno’s Men who are currently one of the form teams of the Division.

Newcastle themselves gained a home victory on Saturday, with Eddie’s Magpies inflicting a defeat on Mikel’s Young Guns by a 1-0 score in front of the Toon Army at St James Park.

Alexander Isak scored the solitary winning goal after 12 minutes, heading home a great cross from Anthony Gordon to gain the points.

The win leaves Newcastle in 11th place with the same 15 points as Fulham and Eddie’s old team Bournemouth.

In last season’s fixture between these two at the City Ground, Newcastle gained the away day victory over Nottingham Forest by a 3-2 scoreline.

The goals going in as follows,

10′ Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle 0-1)
26′ Anthony Elanga (Forest 1-1)
43′ Fabian Schar (Newcastle 1-2)
45+7′ Callum Hudson-Odoi (Forest 2-2)

Half-Time Chicken Balti Pie.

66′ Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle 2-3)

Full-Time Gin and Bitter Lemon.

Betfred offer Nottingham Forest at 8/5, the Draw at 12/5 and 6/4 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Chris Wood Scores First and slight Odds On 4/6 that Both Teams Score.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

CHELSEA v ARSENAL

16.30 in England

Sky Sports

A brilliant fixture to round off Game Week-11, which now sees a 2-week break for another set of Internationals that thankfully, are the last ones until next March 2025.

Chelsea gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday.

After Robert Sanchez had brought down Rasmus Hojlund and a penalty awarded, it was United who took the lead midway through the 2nd-half.

To be fair, it was a very drab disappointing game on Sunday that the watching Millions were thinking of switching channels and watching a poncy Romantic Christmas film that are slowly creeping onto the TellyBox even though it’s only the beginning of November and the fireworks have barely fizzled out.

There’s a phenomenon that is happening called ‘Christmas Creep’ which doesn’t have anything to do with Fat Blokes on a night out in Barnsley.

It’s about folk introducing the Christmas paraphernalia earlier and earlier.

There are some puddings out there that put the Christmas Tree up in November.

One word, puddings!

If John Newsome does put up a Christmas Tree and there are no guarantees, as one didn’t last year, then the said Tree, after being purchased from Aldi, will be put on display around the 19th of December and taken down around New Years Day, giving one the 12 Days of Christmas.

Anyways back to the football, despite the above paragraph or two being about a Christmas Tree, it was still more entertaining than Manchester United v Chelsea on Sunday.

Following the penalty in the 70th minute, Moises Caceido scored an equaliser 4 minutes later and with no further goals, both teams shared the points from a dull as dishwater spectacle.

Enzo’s Blues sit in 4th place with the same 18 points as Arsenal and Aston Villa, all having completed 10 games.

Chelsea face a team called Noah from Armenia at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, in Match Day-3 of the Europa Conference League-League Phase.

Chelsea are 2 from 2 in the ‘Win Column’ of the Europa Conference League so will want to continue that particular streak against Noah.

It’s unlikely an Ark will be needed unless Chelsea score the goals 2 by 2.

Arsenal suffered a defeat on Saturday against Newcastle at St James Park.

After conceding a goal in the 12th minute, Mikel’s Young Guns couldn’t penetrate the Magpies defence for the remainder of the game, leaving Arsenal with the loss by a 1-0 away day score.

Although a devastating defeat, it wasn’t too costly, with all of Man City, Aston Villa and Brighton also losing which leaves Arsenal in 5th place with the same 18 points as Chelsea and Aston Villa from 10 games played.

Arsenal are also in European action this week, heading over to Italy to face Inter Milan on Wednesday in Match Day-4 of the Champions League-League Phase.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score, when Arsenal ventured across London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season.

Desmond Douglas was happy!

Cole Palmer scored the opener from the penalty spot, to give Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues the lead at the break.

Mykhailo Mudryk added a 2nd just after the restart which should have given Chelsea the momentum to push on for a victory.

Unfortunately, for the Blue faithful in attendance, they saw their idols concede 2 Arsenal goals to ultimately snatch a draw from the jaws of victory.

Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard with the Gunners comeback goals.

It’s the Premier League all the way now until the end of the year, with 8 Game Weeks between November 23rd and December 31st.

Please keep coming back to this EveryTip column to get all your football information.

Betfred offer Chelsea at 7/4, the Draw at 23/10 and 7/5 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/5 that Cole Palmer Scores Anytime and 12/5 that Chelsea Score in Both Halves.

Merry Christmas!

The Top 3 in the Scottish Premier League didn’t play in a league game over the weekend as all were involved in the Scottish Pub Cup.

Celtic took on Aberdeen at Hampden Park, with the Green and White Hoops gaining a victory over the Dandy Dons by a devastating 6-0 score to progress to the Final.

Remember, the two clubs are 1 and 2 in the Pub League with the same 28 points and played out a draw only a couple of weeks ago.

All of the Aberdeen players that played against Celtic in the 2-2 draw, were on show at Hampden Park on Saturday, so it can’t be said that Jimmy Thelin changed his team for the Cup Game.

Although Jimmy has an Iconic Scottish Name, the lad is actually Swedish and must have been scratching his Nordic Napper at the display in the Semi.

Cilla Black then popped up and sang,

‘Surprise, Surprise!’

As Celtic’s opponents for the League Cup Final are the Old Firm Rivals from across Glasgow, them being Rangers, who got the win over Motherwell (who?) in their Semi-Final at Hampden Park on Sunday, coming from a goal behind to get the victory by a 2-1 scoreline.

Braveheart/Kylie was over the moon with that result, however, the loveable OzScot is of the opinion that the Manager of his Teddy Bear team, Philippe Clement is on borrowed time and may get the sack in the next couple of weeks.

A defeat in the Pub Cup Final against the Arch Rivals may just result in Philippe taking a visit to the Glasgow Job Centre.

Celtic host RB Leipzig on Tuesday in the Champions League-League Phase.

Rangers head to Greece on Thursday to face Olympiakos in the Europa League.

Hearts take on Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League, along with Northern Ireland’s Larne who host St Gallen from Switzerland.

Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers take on the Welsh side TNS (The New Saints) in an Ireland v Wales clash, which is a common affair in the Rugby Union ‘Six Nations’ but rarely happens in football.

The strange anomaly with the Irish Premier Division is the league runs from February to November, finishing this week and then doesn’t start again until 2025, so the Europa Conference League will be Shamrock’s only means of a run around until that particular competition finishes in December.

The Rovers will be hoping to make the Play-Offs to continue playing football until the Irish Premier Division reconvenes next February.

The loveable OzScot is on a recce over in Seattle and was surprised to see so much rain.

John Newsome did enquire,

‘Have you never seen Sleepless In Seattle?’

It rains in Seattle more often than in Manchester but the lads not bothered, he’s still spinning around.
