MANCHESTER UNITED v MAN CITY
12.30 in England
Sky Sports
There is a saying that ‘a week is a long time in politics.’
Well, the same can be said regarding football.
Last week Ruben Amorim was the Manchester United Manager and whilst the guy has always been under pressure, there wasn’t any indication that he would be sacked by United.
Following the game against Leeds where there was no real cohesion between the players and no one really understood what Ruben wanted, the hierarchy decided that was enough and sent Mr Amorim down the concrete.
In truth, the job was too big for Ruben, even he knew that and for the past few months, Mr Amorim has been trying to ‘get out of the job’ without walking away, as ‘walking away’ would mean he wouldn’t get any compensation.
If RA was sacked, then there would be a few quid in his back pocket as he headed to the Job Centre.
This EveryTip column has been saying for quite a while now, going back to September 2025, that Ruben Amorim was on borrowed time.
The thought was that Ruben would be gone in the November International Break, however, the boy got a few more games to show how useless he was.
Well, probably useless is a bit too strong but Ruben was out of his depth, trying to implement different complicated systems into the team, 4/3/3, 5/3/2, 3/4/3 7/2/1 etc etc.
These are just numbers, maybe what Ruben needed to do was say to the players such as Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot, ‘pull your finger out love, you’re playing rubbish at the moment!’
(Other players can be included in that sentence!)
For the time being, the ex-United Midfielder Darren Fletcher has been put in charge.
Darren has two sons, Tyler and Jack, who have both been on the bench for United over the past few weeks.
Will Darren use nepotism at its finest and play Tyler and Jack?
The strange thing about Tyler and Jack, who are twins, is that one has played youth football for England and the other for Scotland.
Remember, Darren is an ex-Scottish International.
One wonders who is the favourite out of the two?
Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are on the list being lined up to come in and be the ‘Interim Manager’ after the current ‘Interim Manager’ Darren Fletcher’s time.
That basically suggests that the United hierarchy haven’t a clue who to appoint.
In John Newsome’s opinion, Michael Carrick would be a good fit for the time being, along with Ryan Giggs, however, Ryan’s off-field antics will probably scupper that situation.
Mr Carrick would be ideal to settle things down at Old Trafford.
Added to that, although United have struggled under Ruben Amorim, United are currently 7th in the Premier League, so a few little tweaks here and there and a bit of confidence instilled into the squad, will leave United in a strong position and hopefully (for the Red Devils faithful) Champions League football next season.
It did appear that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was paid off by United a couple of years ago due to failing, was now going to be paid again by United to come back in and supposedly settle the ship.
However, there are now strong rumours that Michael Carrick will be confirmed as the Interim Boss on Tuesday, until the end of the season and oversee proceedings for this Manchester Derby.
United, under Darren Fletcher’s guidance, could only manage a draw against Burnley last Wednesday.
After conceding a Claret goal, Benjamin Sesko scored twice to give United the lead.
Unfortunately, for Mr Fletcher and the rest of the Sorry Set of Red Devils, Burnley scored an equaliser and with no further goals both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score.
One wonders what Ruben Amorim was thinking at the final whistle.
Darren was then in charge for the FA Cup tie against Brighton on Sunday.
Brighton knocked United out of the Cup, so, although Darren Fletcher is United through and through, the lad isn’t up to the task of being the ‘Interim, Interim Tea Maker’!
Once again, one wonders what Ruben Amorim was thinking at the final whistle.
It’s now a matter of waiting to see who the next Interim Manager will be, which should be confirmed on Tuesday, after this EveryTip column is published.
What is interesting is that Oliver Glasner is out of contract at the end of the season, so are United just going to tread water until then and appoint the Crystal Palace Boss, once his contract expires?
Added to that, a late development in Managerial matters occurred on Monday evening, with Real Madrid announcing that Xabi Alonso had left the Bernabeu.
That’s not to suggest United will want the ex-Liverpool Midfielder but as everyone knows,
Football, it’s a funny old game!’
As mentioned, United sit in 7th place, with the same 32 points as Newcastle, both having completed 21 games.
Man City also gained a point from a draw on Wednesday, this time against Brighton at the Etihad.
Erling Haaland converted a penalty to give City a lead at the break, before Brighton scored an equaliser early in the 2nd-half.
With no further goals, both teams gained a point apiece from a 1-1 scoreline.
That’s City’s 3rd Premier League draw in a row which has hampered their title hopes, leaving Pep’s Blues in 2nd place with the same 43 points as Aston Villa, however, because Arsenal drew with Liverpool on Thursday, the gap is still 6 points between themselves and Arsenal at the summit following the midweek fixtures.
The point gained, as remember, it’s always a point gained, as opposed to the myth that it’s 2 points lost, only enhances that truth as everyone assumed that Arsenal would get the victory over Liverpool and increase the lead at the top by 8 points.
That wasn’t the case as Arsenal could only manage a draw, gaining 1 point, leaving the gap still at 6 points due to Man City and Aston Villa both gaining a point also.
So remember, regardless of the situation, a drawn game produces a point gained, not 2 points lost.
Before the game against Brighton, Man City didn’t have 45 points, drew the game and therefore lost 2, leaving them with 43.
Pep’s Blues had 42 points, drew the game, gaining 1 point leaving them with 43, a point more than before the kickoff.
Whilst City won’t give up on the title just yet, Pep Guardiola may be better off concentrating on the Cup competitions, especially the Champions League.
Antoine Semenyo comes in from Bournemouth after Man City triggered Antoine’s contract clause, paying £65 Million for the Ghanaian.
Antoine was thrust straight into the City team that got a stunning victory over Exeter at the Etihad on Saturday in the FA Cup, even getting a goal in the win by a 10-1 scoreline.
Yes, Ten-one!
Man City gained the home victory over Manchester United at the Etihad back in mid-September.
A goal from Phil Foden in the 1st-half and 2 from Erling Haaland after the break, gave Pep’s Noisy Neighbours the win over Darren’s Numpty Neighbours from a 3-0 score.
Betfred offer Manchester United at 13/5, the Draw at 11/4 and slight Odds On 9/10 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/2 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 18/5 that Man City Win Both Halves.

CHELSEA v BRENTFORD
15.00 in England
Chelsea are now winless in the last 5 Premier League games following a defeat against the fellow West Londoners Fulham at Craven Cottage last Wednesday.
Marc Cucurella was shown a straight Red Card in the 22nd minute for denying a goal-scoring opportunity when hauling down Harry Wilson who was through on goal.
Chelsea managed to hold on at 0-0 until the 55th minute, when Fulham scored the opener.
Liam Delap scored an equaliser 20 minutes later, however, Harry Wilson scored the Fulham winner in the 81st minute to inflict the defeat on the Blues from a 2-1 scoreline.
Liam Rosenior has come in as the New Manager but didn’t oversee the loss against Fulham, preferring to sit in the stands and allow the Caretaker Manager Calum McFarlane to take the blame for the defeat.
That’s 3 draws and 2 losses from those 5 Premier League games, leaving Chelsea in 8th place with the same 31 points as Fulham from the opening 21 games completed.
Chelsea did progress to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup gaining a win over Charlton on Saturday by a 5-1 scoreline, which should instil a bit of confidence in the team.
A quick note regarding the Sheffield Superstar Jamie Vardy.
Vards was 39 years old on Sunday and still scoring goals, notching for his new club Cremonese, as the Italian’s gained a draw against Cagliari over the weekend.
Happy Birthday Mr Vardy.
Brentford gained their 4th Premier League victory from the last 5, against Sunderland last week, with the other being a draw,
Igor Thiago scored twice, one in each half, before Yegor Yarmolyuk added a 3rd to give the Bees the home win over the Black Cats by a 3-0 scoreline.
That was Igor’s 16th goal of the season, with only Erling Haaland scoring more (20).
Added to that, there’s only Erling, Harry Kane (20) and Kylian Mbappe (18) who have scored more in the Top European League’s, so not bad company for Igor to be in.
Most may think Igor Thiago is a New Signing brought in to replace Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, however, that’s not the case.
Igor was brought in at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, to replace Ivan Toney,
Unfortunately, the Brazilian Striker picked up an injury in a pre-season friendly and missed most of the 2024/25 campaign but is now injury-free and scoring goals and although he has never been chosen to play for Brazil, Igor does look a certainty to be in Carlo Ancelotti’s Samba Boys Squad for this year’s World Cup.
Brentford progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup by getting a win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The Bees sit in 5th place (yes 5th!) with 33 points from the opening 21 games played.
Both teams shared the points when the two met at the GTech back in September.
Kevin Schade scored the opening goal for the Bees to give the home team a lead at the break.
Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo scored for Chelsea in the 2nd-half to take the lead, before Fabio Carvalho got the Brentford equaliser in the 93rd minute to give both teams a point apiece from a 2-2 scoreline.
Betfred offer Chelsea at Odds On 4/6, the Draw at 3/1 and 7/2 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 8/5 that Igor Thiago Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LEEDS UNITED v FULHAM
15.00 in England
Leeds United played in probably the ‘Game of the Season’ so far last Wednesday, against Newcastle at St James Park.
Unfortunately for the West Yorkshire Puddings in attendance, their White Idols suffered a narrow defeat by a 4-3 scoreline, with the goals going in as follows-
32′ Brenden Aaronson (Leeds 0-1)
36′ Harvey Barnes (Newcastle 1-1)
45+5′ Dominic Calvert-Lewin- penalty (Leeds 1-2)
Half-Time Sausage Roll and Bovril.
54′ Joelinton (Newcastle 2-2)
79′ Brenden Aaronson (Leeds 2-3)
90+1′ Bruno Guimaraes- penalty (Newcastle 3-3)
90+12′ Harvey Barnes (Newcastle 4-3)
Full-Time Big Mac and Bottle of Newcastle Broon Ale.
Harvey’s winner was the latest ever goal scored in a Premier League game, after 102 minutes.
That was Leeds’ first defeat in 8 games, however, there were only 2 wins in the previous 7, with 5 drawn games, which, whilst not defeats, as only given Daniel Farke’s Whites 11 points from a possible 24.
Leeds sit in 16th place with 22 points from the 21 fixtures completed.
Leeds also progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup, inflicting a defeat on Derby County by a 3-1 score.
Terry Yorath, Rest In Peace!
Fulham gained a victory over Chelsea in the midweek clash, with goals from Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson giving Marco Silva the West London Bragging Rights from a 2-1 scoreline.
Chelsea scored to equalise Raul’s opening goal.
The game did come at the right time for Fulham with Chelsea still under the guidance of a Caretaker Manager.
Added to that, the Blues had a man sent off in the 22nd minute, for denying Harry Wilson a goal-scoring opportunity.
Fulham sit in 9th place with the same 31 points as Chelsea from the opening 21 games played.
The Cottagers knocked Middlesbrough out of the FA Cup on Saturday, to progress to the next round.
The unfortunate Gabriel Gudmundssson scored an Own Goal in the 93rd minute to gift Fulham the victory from a 1-0 score when Leeds United travelled to Craven Cottage for the Game Week-4 encounter.
Betfred offer Leeds United at 6/5, the Draw at 21/10 and 9/4 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/1 that Brenden Aaronson Scores First and 11/4 that Harry Wilson Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LIVERPOOL v BURNLEY
15.00 in England
Liverpool started on the back foot against Arsenal at the Emirates, however, after seeing off the Gunners in the first 20 minutes or so and realising there wasn’t much danger, Arne’s Slot Machines put in a great performance to gain a draw against Mikel’s Young Guns from a 0-0 scoreline.
There were unsubstantiated rumours that Mikel Arteta had to go into the Liverpool dressing room after the game to look for Viktor Gyokeres with the Liverpool staff saying,
‘He’s over there Mikel, in Virgil’s pocket!’
That leaves Liverpool in 4th place with 35 points from the opening 21 games.
Liverpool then took on Barnsley FC in the 4th-Round of the FA Cup, with Arne’s Slots progressing following a victory over the Reds by a 4-1 scoreline.
Burnley gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score, against Manchester United at Turf Moor last Wednesday.
After getting the opening goal through a Manchester United OG to lead at half-time, United scored twice early in the 2nd-half to go in front.
Jaidon Anthony then scored a brilliant equaliser in the 66th minute and with no further goals both teams shared the points from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.
Burnley remain in 19th place with 13 points from the 21 games completed, which is currently 8 points from safety.
Normally, if a team gets a draw against Manchester United, it can instil some confidence, however, United are just rubbish at the moment, so Scott Parker needs to be wary about the draw and not become complacent.
Burnley progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup by gaining a victory over Millwall with a 5-1 score.
A Mo Salah converted penalty in the 95th minute, gave Liverpool all 3 points from a 1-0 score in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor back in September.
Betfred offer Liverpool at Odds On 2/11, the Draw at 11/2 and 12/1 for Burnley to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/2 that Hugo Ekitike Scores First and 5/4 that Liverpool Win Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

SUNDERLAND v CRYSTAL PALACE
15.00 in England
Sunderland were well beaten by Brentford at the GTech Stadium last week, with the Black Cats suffering a defeat from a 3-0 scoreline.
That’s now 5 winless Premier League games, with 4 draws and a loss in those 5, meaning 4 points gained from a possible 15 on offer.
Sunderland slip to 10th in the table with 30 points from the opening 21 fixtures.
Sunderland progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup by knocking out Everton on Saturday.
After the game finished in a draw by a 1-1 score, Sunderland progressed from the penalty shootout, notably seeing Everton miss their opening 3 spot-kicks, with the Black Cats converting all 3 to go through.
Crystal Palace gained a point from a draw by a 0-0 score in the midweek clash against Aston Villa at Selhurst Park.
The point achieved leaves Palace in 13th place with 28 points from the opening 21 games completed.
A question has cropped up.
Are Manchester United waiting until the end of the season for Oliver Glasner to leave Palace when his contract expires?
Only time will tell and John Newsome has no evidence to suggest that United will appoint Oliver, however, the ‘Interim Interim’ situation at Old Trafford could just suggest that Oliver Glasner is on the radar.
Watch this space.
Neither team could find the back of the net when these two met at Selhurst Park, with the game finishing in a draw by a 0-0 score.
Betfred offer Sunderland at 6/4, the Draw at 21/10 and 7/4 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and slight Odds On 5/6 that Both Teams Score.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

TOTTENHAM v WEST HAM
15.00 in England
This game could be billed as the ‘Clash of the Useless Londoners’ with both teams struggling at the moment.
Tottenham suffered a defeat against Bournemouth in the midweek Premier League games, with the Cherries scoring the winner in the 95th minute to knock the stuffing out of Spurs.
Mathys Tel scored the opener against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, however, the home team scored twice to lead at the interval.
Joao Palhinha then scored an equaliser for Tottenham in the 78th minute and that appeared to be that until Bournemouth scored the late winner.
Thomas Frank is under pressure but didn’t help his cause by being seen drinking from an Arsenal liveried cup.
Doh!
It was then an FA Cup clash against fellow Premier League rivals Aston Villa and another defeat, with Tottenham knocked out of that particular competition.
There is now just the Champions League to potentially win (which won’t happen!) so it’s going to be a long end to the season for everyone connected with the LilyWhites.
Put that cup down Thomas!
Fellow ‘Useless Londoners’ West Ham suffered a home defeat against Nottingham Forest in the midweek game.
In truth, from watching the game on TV, Nuno’s Hammers were unlucky and after getting a goal from a Nottingham Forest player to lead at the break, Crysencio Summerville scored what appeared to be a perfectly good goal that would have given West Ham a 2-goal advantage.
However, the dreaded VAR got busy and went back 4 or 5 stages to show that a Hammers player had a toe in an offside position and ruled the goal out.
That basically burst the Bubbles with Forest then immediately scoring an equaliser.
West Ham’s Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola was adjudged to have punched Morgan Gibbs-White whilst clearing a cross which again the dreaded VAR got involved and decided it was dangerous play and awarded a penalty in the 89th minute, which Forest converted, to grab the victory from a 2-1 score.
West Ham did progress to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup, knocking QPR out on Sunday.
However, it’s the Premier League that is a concern, following 10 games without a win, with 4 draws and 6 losses, leaving West Ham in 18th place with 14 points from 21 games completed.
That is 7 points from safety, with the safe team being Nottingham Forest, who have a far better goal difference, which basically means an 8-point gap.
After a goalless 1st-half at the London Stadium back in September, goals from Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Micky Van De Ven gave Tottenham the away-day win from a 3-0 scoreline.
Tomas Soucek was sent off in the 54th minute, just after the opening Tottenham goal.
Betfred offer Tottenham at Odds On 7/10, the Draw at 11/4 and 7/2 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Richarlison Scores First and 7/5 that Tottenham Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v ARSENAL
17.30 in England
TNT Sports
Nottingham Forest gained an away win over West Ham at the London Stadium last Wednesday.
After Murillo had deflected a corner into his own net to give West Ham a lead and trail at the break, Nicolas Dominguez scored an equaliser in the 55th minute.
Nicolas’ goal was virtually identical to Murillo’s OG.
Forest had got lucky just before the equaliser when the dreaded VAR ruled that a West Ham goal was offside in the lead-up.
It was lucky as the goal could have easily been given due to no real evidence of offside.
The ball was actually played forward off a Forest player but because it’s deemed ‘an accidental passage of play’ isn’t classed as onside.
Whatever an ‘accidental passage of play’ is on a football pitch is beyond John Newsome.
The players and the football plus the referee are not on the pitch ‘by accident’!
Another quick note regarding the on-field referee (Tony Harrington) and the Stockley Park Crew was that one of the Forest players had a shot which took a deflection and went behind for what should have been a corner.
Tony awarded a goal kick, which is fair enough as he may not have seen the deflection.
The dreaded VAR stopped play to advise Tony that they were checking to see if the deflection had come off a Forest arm.
It hadn’t, it clearly hit the Forest player’s leg, however, by default, that suggests the ball had come off a Forest player and therefore should have been a corner not a goal kick.
Folk will say that VAR cannot give decisions regarding whether it’s a corner or throw-in in etc, which is right but the on-field referee can change his mind and should think to himself, if the VAR is checking whether the ball has hit an arm, then that suggests it has come off a Defender and should therefore be a corner.
That’s not asking the VAR to make the decision, it’s simply asking the on-field referee to use Common Sense!
Rant over.
Nottingham Forest sit in 17th place with 21 points from the 21 games played and as mentioned in the Tottenham v West Ham preview, are 7 points clear of the relegation battle and have a far superior goal difference, so in theory are 8 points clear.
There’s no cup run though, with Forest suffering penalty shootout heartache against Wrexham on Friday, after the Welsh team knocked out the Tricky Trees to progress to the 4th-Round.
Arsenal gained a point from a draw by a 0-0 score against Liverpool at the Emirates on Thursday.
In truth, Liverpool were the better team and nullified Arsenal’s advances being too strong at the back and not allowing the Gunners any real chance of scoring.
After seeing Man City and Aston Villa gain a draw on Wednesday, Mikel Arteta would have hoped for a win to increase the gap between themselves and City and Villa.
However, Arsenal remain at the summit with 49 points from 21 games completed, still 6 points ahead of the other two.
All to play for.
Arsenal did progress to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup, knocking out Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday.
Arsenal gained the home victory over Nottingham Forest when these two met in the Game Week-4 encounter at the Emirates.
Two goals from Martin Zubimendi and 1 from Viktor Gyokeres gave Mikel’s Young Guns the win over Ange’s Tricky Trees from a 3-0 score.
Ange Postecoglou was in charge of Forest before being sacked a couple of weeks later.
Betfred offer Nottingham Forest at 5/1, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 8/15 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Bukayo Saka Scores First and 11/8 that Arsenal Win To Nil.

Sunday 18th
WOLVES v NEWCASTLE
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Following 12 defeats in all competitions, stretching back to October, Wolves are now unbeaten in the last 4 games, 3 in the Premier League and 1 in the FA Cup.
Wolves gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Everton last time out in the Premier League.
After conceding a Toffees goal in the 1st-half, the New Molineux Star Matheus Mane scored an equaliser in the 69th minute and with no further goals, both teams gained a point apiece.
Everton did have 2 players sent off late in the game but Wolves couldn’t take advantage of having the extra man/men.
Rob Edwards Gold and Blacks then progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup with an impressive performance against Shrewsbury getting the win from a 6-1 scoreline.
In-demand Striker Jorgen Strand-Larsen scored a hat-trick against the Shrews, which might have added a few quid to the Transfer Fee.
Wolves remain at the bottom of the table with 7 points from the opening 21 games played.
As mentioned in the Leeds v Fulham preview above, Newcastle played in one of the ‘Games of the Season’ against Leeds on Wednesday.
The 7-goal thriller, saw the goals going in as follows-
(Copied from said preview)
32′ Brenden Aaronson (Leeds 0-1)
36′ Harvey Barnes (Newcastle 1-1)
45+5′ Dominic Calvert-Lewin- penalty (Leeds 1-2)
Half-Time Sausage Roll and Bovril.
54′ Joelinton (Newcastle 2-2)
79′ Brenden Aaronson (Leeds 2-3)
90+1′ Bruno Guimaraes- penalty (Newcastle 3-3)
90+12′ Harvey Barnes (Newcastle 4-3)
Full-Time Big Mac and Bottle of Newcastle Broon Ale.
Harvey’s winner was the latest ever goal scored in a Premier League game, after 102 minutes.
The brilliant win leaves Newcastle in 6th place with the same 32 points as Manchester United, both having completed 21 games.
Newcastle knocked Bournemouth out of the FA Cup on Saturday, progressing to the 4th-Round following a penalty shootout.
A single Nick Woltemade goal, scored in the 1st-half, gave Newcastle the home win over Wolves when the two met at St James Park back in September.
Vitor Pereira was in charge of Wolves at the time, now it’s Rob Edwards turn to try and stop Eddie Howe’s Magpies.
Betfred offer Wolves at 10/3, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 8/11 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Harvey Barnes Scores First and 18/5 Matheus Mane Scores Anytime.

ASTON VILLA v EVERTON
16.30
Sky Sports
Aston Villa played out a goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday with neither team troubling the scorers.
The point gained leaves Aston Villa in 3rd place with the same 43 points as Man City, both still 6 adrift of Arsenal at the top, following all of the Game Week-21 results.
Villa then knocked Tottenham out of the FA Cup to progress to the 4th-Round.
Everton gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Wolves at home last Wednesday.
Michael Keane scored the Toffees’ goal to give Everton a lead at the break.
Wolves scored the equaliser in the 69th minute and with no further goals both teams gained a point apiece.
Although no further goals, there was some further excitement with Michael Keane being shown a straight Red Card for ‘pulling Tolu Arokodare’s hair’.
That wasn’t the end of the Red Cards either, with Jack Grealish being shown 2 Yellows and the subsequent Red for a bit of petulant behaviour, mainly due to being annoyed at getting kicked all over by the Wolves players.
The 9 men did hold on for a point leaving Everton in 12th place with the same 29 points as Brighton,
Everton were then knocked out of the FA Cup, following a disastrous penalty shootout against Sunderland where none of James Garner, Thierno Barry and Beto could convert.
There’s a bit of conjecture as to how to say Everton’s New Stadium.
Is it Hill Dickinson or the Hill Dickinson?
Well to be grammatically correct, it’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, like Anfield or Old Trafford, one wouldn’t say ‘the Anfield’ or ‘the Old Trafford’.
That’s cleared that up then and with everything that’s happening in the World at the moment, such as President Trump’s exploits, Mr Putin’s adventures, Global Warming, Famine and Poverty etc, it’s important to say ‘Hill Dickinson Stadium’ not ‘the Hill Dickinson Stadium’.
The scorer wasn’t needed when Aston Villa visited Hill Dickinson Stadium (not ‘the’) for the Game Week-4 affair, with the game finishing in a draw by a 0-0 score.
Betfred offer Aston Villa at Odds On 4/6, the Draw at 13/5 and 4/1 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Ollie Watkins Scores First and 9/4 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.

BRIGHTON v BOURNEMOUTH

Sky Sports
Brighton gained a brilliant point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Man City at the Etihad last Wednesday.
After conceding a penalty and trailing at the break, Kaoru Mitoma scored an equaliser on the hour mark and with no further goals both teams gained a point apiece.
Brighton sit in 11th place with the same 29 points as Everton both having completed 21 games.
It was then the FA Cup against the other Manchester team, them being United, where Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls knocked out Fletcher’s Failures to progress to the 4th-Round.
Bournemouth got the home win over Tottenham in the midweek Premier League games, with 1st-half goals from Evanilson and Eli Junior Kroupi and a very late winner from Antoine Semenyo in the 95th minute giving Andoni’s Cherries the win from a 3-2 scoreline.
Tottenham scored the opener and the equaliser before Antoine’s late winner.
Bournemouth sit in 15th place with 26 points from the 21 fixtures played so far.
It was then an FA Cup tie against Newcastle at St James Park where unfortunately for the Cherry faithful, Newcastle knocked out Bournemouth following a penalty shootout.
A quick note regarding Antoine Semenyo.
The lad was subject to a Transfer move to Man City and had a clause in his contract that had to be activated within the first 10 days of January.
It would have been quite easy for Antoine to down tools and refuse to play for Bournemouth in case he picked up an injury that would jeopardise the move.
That’s not what happened, Mr Semenyo played in all of Bournemouth’s games at the end of December and the beginning of January, eventually scoring the winner against Tottenham on the 7th.
The lad then got a standing ovation as he left the pitch at the Vitality Stadium following his late goal, left Sandbanks where he was living and headed up the road to sign for Man City.
Pep Guardiola had no hesitation in throwing the Ghanaian straight into the City team for the FA Cup clash against Exeter, where Antoine rewarded that faith by scoring in the game.
Alexander Isak, Mo Salah, Yoane Wissa and a few others, should have a look at themselves.
Nice one Antoine, all the best.
Bournemouth gained the home win over Brighton when these two met at the Vitality Stadium back in September.
A goal from Alex Scott and a converted Antoine Semenyo penalty gave Andoni Iraola’s Cherries the victory over Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls from a 2-1 score.
Kaoru Mitoma had scored early in the 2nd-half to equalise for Brighton before Antoine’s winner.
Betfred offer Brighton at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 11/4 and 13/5 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.
