Game Week-25
All of these set of fixtures are the reverse of Game Week-11 which took place at the beginning of November 2025.
Friday 06th
LEEDS UNITED v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
‘Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again, Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again!’
That probably is a bit harsh on Daniel Farke’s Whites, who suffered a home defeat at Elland Rd against Arsenal on Saturday.
(However, still funny!)
The loss from a 4-0 scoreline was expected as Arsenal are at the top of the table and Leeds are, well not!
Leeds sit in 16th place with the same 26 points as today’s visitors, having completed 24 games.
The West Yorkshire Puddings all headed off into the local ‘Spoons and ordered a few bottles of Buckfast and a handful of straws, warbling their famous tune, albeit quietly.
Marching on Together!’
Leeds have signed Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte on loan for the rest of the season.
Nottingham Forest gained the expected point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Crystal Palace at the City Ground on Sunday.
As predicted in this EveryTip column last week.
In truth, it was one of the easier fixtures to predict and it’s probably worth adding that Forest’s and Palace’s remaining games could easily finish in a 1-1 draw.
Morgan Gibbs-White scored first in the 5th minute to give Forest an early lead.
Neco Williams then pulled off one of the saves of the season to prevent Palace from equalising.
However, the eagle-eyed viewer amongst you, will know that Nico isn’t a Goalkeeper, so not only did the Left-Back concede a penalty but was shown a straight Red Card for denying the goal.
Unfortunately, for the Tricky Trees faithful in attendance, Palace converted to make the score level at half-time.
Neither team scored after the break with Forest’s 10 men keeping out the 11 men of Palace, eventually giving both teams a share of the points.
Forest sit in 17th place with the same 26 points as today’s opponents, who sit a place above on goal difference.
Nottingham Forest gained the home win over Leeds United in the Game Week-11 affair back in November.
Goals from Ibrahim Sangare, Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliott Anderson (penalty) gave Sean Dyche’s Tricky Trees the victory over Daniel Farke’s Whites from a 3-1 scoreline.
Lukas Nmecha scored first to give Leeds an early lead.
Betfred offer Leeds United at 6/5, the Draw at 11/5 and 11/5 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Dominic Calvert-Lewin Scores First and 5/2 that Igor Jesus Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Saturday 07th
MANCHESTER UNITED v TOTTENHAM
12.30 in England
TNT Sports
Goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, one in each half, gave Manchester United a 2-0 lead against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
There was some confusion just before the Casemiro goal, when the on-field referee John Brooks awarded United a penalty for a challenge by Fulham’s Jorge Cuenca on Matheus Cunha.
The replay clearly showed that Jorge had kicked the ball first and Matheus got the last touch before the ball went out of play, therefore a goal kick should have been given.
However, that wasn’t the case as the dreaded VAR got involved and advised John Brooks that Jorge had pulled Matheus’ shirt in the buildup and a free kick should be awarded outside of the area.
Whether that is right or wrong, that’s not what VAR is allowed to decide.
The Stockley Park brigade should only comment on penalty decisions, (in this case, the tackle) not whether an incident outside the penalty area should be a foul or not.
Because John Brooks awarded a penalty, initially for the tackle and got it wrong, the VAR and Mr Brooks colluded with each other to state that the penalty was awarded for the pull of the shirt and because that was outside the area, a free kick should be given.
Once again, the dreaded VAR are not using the technology for the purpose it was designed for.
Just watch a Championship, League 1 or 2 game without the VAR and the experience is far better.
Once a decision is made, that’s that, no one is sitting miles away, trying to invent something to change a decision or manufacture a situation.
That said, unfortunately, the dreaded VAR is here to stay as there is too much money involved to have it cancelled.
There are too many ‘Jobs for the Boys (and Girls)’ for the Premier League to get rid of the Video Assistant Referee.
There’s another strange VAR decision that will be explained in the Bournemouth v Aston Villa preview.
With half an hour to go, it was then the Fulham show, with the away team scoring twice in the 85th and 91st minute to level things up.
When a draw looked the outcome, the New ‘Super Michael Carrick’s’ Manchester United, who would have crumbled under previous Managers, scored the winner in the 94th to give Michael and United their 3rd victory in succession.
The Super Sub Benjamin Sesko, who was sent on by Mr Carrick in the 74th minute, scored the winner, giving United the points from a 3-2 scoreline.
It was a brilliant game to watch and a great result for the Red Devils, however, what could be considered a concern was the fact that United did concede 2 goals when comfortably in front.
Manchester United sit in 4th place with 41 points from 24 games played.
There doesn’t appear to be any New Signings coming into Old Trafford this January.
Tottenham gained an unlikely point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Man City on Sunday.
City scored twice in the 1st-half and were easily the better team, which produced a chorus of boos when the half-time whistle was blown.
The 2nd-half performance was in complete contrast to the 1st, with Man City thinking it was too easy and Tottenham deciding to start playing.
‘May as well!’
There was supposed to be a protest by the fans (there’s always a protest about something nowadays, not just in Football) in the 75th minute with the home fans walking out.
Dominic Solanke scored twice in the 2nd-half, before the 75th minute, which nullified the supposed protest.
With no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece.
Tottenham sit in 14th place with the same 29 points as Crystal Palace, both having completed 24 games.
The Champions League-League Phase is over with Thomas Frank’s Spurs team finishing in 4th place in that particular competition, going straight into the last-16 knockout stage.
Tottenham’s opponents will be confirmed later this month.
It does appear from the outside looking in, that Thomas Frank’s Tottenham tenure is reliant on the Champions League results and not the Premier League.
However, if Tottenham can produce displays akin to the 2nd-half performance against Man City, Thomas could extend his career in North London into next season.
Tottenham have brought in the ex-Chelsea Midfielder Conor Gallagher, with Spurs paying Atletico Madrid around £34 Million for the Midfielder.
Both teams gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score, in the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Bryan Mbeumo scored for United just after the half-hour mark to give the away team a lead at the break.
Mathys Tel and Richarlison scored the Tottenham goals, with Richarlison’s strike going into the net in the 91st minute, which appeared to be the winner.
Not so, as United went straight up the other end, allowing
Matthijs De Ligt to score a very late equaliser in the 96th minute, giving both teams a point apiece.
Betfred offer Manchester United at Odds On 8/13, the Draw at 3/1 and 18/5 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Bryan Mbeumo Scores First and 23/20 that Manchester United Score in Both Halves.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ARSENAL v SUNDERLAND
15.00 in England
Arsenal got back to winning ways on Saturday after 2 draws and a defeat in the previous 3 Premier League games.
Whilst the victory over Leeds United at Elland Rd got Arsenal back on track, the Gunners were expected to win against the newly promoted side.
Goals from Martin Zubimendi, Karl Darlow (OG), Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus gave the Gunners the points from a 4-0 scoreline.
That left Arsenal at the summit with 53 points, temporarily 7 points more than Man City and Aston Villa.
The gap was then reduced to 6 points following City’s and Villa’s games on Sunday, where City managed a draw against Tottenham and Villa suffered a surprise defeat against Brentford.
That means in the remaining 14 games of the season, Arsenal will have to lose at least twice for Man City to overtake them, that’s assuming City win all of their 14 games.
Arsenal do have to visit the Etihad in April, so the title landscape will be a bit clearer come the Game Week-33 encounter.
Arsenal finished with a brilliant 8 out of 8 wins in the Champions League-League Phase, which sees the Gunners qualify for the last-16 that will start in March.
Habib Diarra scored twice in the 1st-half to give Sunderland a lead at the break against Burnley at the Stadium of Light on Monday Night Football.
Habib’s first goal was subsequently given as an Own Goal to Axel Tuanzebe.
After seeing West Ham and Man City lead by 2 goals to nil at half-time, then surrender said lead, Regis Le Bris’ Sunderland made sure it wasn’t going to happen again, when Chemsdine Talbi added a stunning 3rd midway through the 2nd-half.
Burnley had played 3 previous Premier League games without having a ‘Shot on Target’ (SOT) and at the time of Sunderland’s 3rd, had not had a SOT against Sunderland, so it was safe to assume that the Black Cats would hold on for the victory.
With no further goals, that’s just what happened, with Sunderland gaining the win over Burnley from a 3-0 scoreline.
Sunderland sit in 8th place with the same 36 points as Brentford, both having completed 24 games.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score in the reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light back in November.
Dan Ballard scored for Sunderland in the 1st-half to give the home team a lead at the break.
Bukayo Saka scored an equaliser for Arsenal just after the restart before Leandro Trossard added a 2nd for the Gunners in the 74th minute.
When it appeared that Sunderland were about to lose, Brian Brobbey scored an equaliser in the 94th minute to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat.
Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 2/9, the Draw at 9/2 and 12/1 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 3/1 that Viktor Gyokeres Scores First and 7/5 that Arsenal Win Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v ASTON VILLA
15.00 in England
After being winless in the last 10 away games, Bournemouth finally got a victory on the road by inflicting a defeat on Wolves at Molineux by a 2-0 scoreline.
Eli Junior Kroupi scored the first goal in the 33rd minute to give Bournemouth a lead at the break.
It was then left to Adam Scott to make the result safe by scoring the second goal in the 91st minute, giving Bournemouth the much-needed victory in Andoni Iraola’s 100th game in charge.
The Cherries sit in 12th place with the same 33 points as Newcastle, both having completed 24 games.
Bournemouth have brought in the experienced Goalkeeper Frazer Forster, as cover for Djordje Petrovic.
The highly rated Brazilian Youngster Rayan comes into the Vitality for a fee of around £30 Million.
The Striker has had a £100 Million release clause put in the contract, so if any of the ‘Big Boys’ want him, then the Cherries will make a decent profit.
The following was written back in 2018 about the Vasco Da Gama player,
‘Write this name down, Vasco fans-
Rayan, aged 11, scored 115 goals in 2017 and is one of the club’s biggest prospects.’
That statement was posted on social media in January 2018 by the Brazilian sports outlet Globo Esporte.
It has since gone viral.
Alex Toth also comes in from Ferencvaros, with the Cherries paying around £13 Million for the Hungarian Midfielder.
Aston Villa suffered what could be assumed, a surprise defeat against Brentford at Villa Park on Sunday.
Brentford scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time to inflict the loss on Villa by a 1-0 scoreline.
Just prior to the goal, Brentford had a player sent off, which not only gave Aston Villa a man advantage for the whole of the 2nd-half but also compounded the situation, with Villa knowing that an opportunity was missed against a team with 10 men.
Villa have signed Tammy Abraham, paying £18 Million to Besiktas for the Striker’s services.
Tammy was on loan at Villa Park back in the 2018/19 season and scored 25 goals in 37 games, however, that was in the Championship, not the Premier League.
There was a moment of conjecture early in the 2nd-half, when Tammy thought he had scored an equaliser.
The dreaded VAR got involved and went back 19 seconds when it appeared the ball had gone out of play, at the other end of the pitch, when the linesman and referee played on.
The ball was knocked upfield with Tammy scoring what he thought was the first goal of his return.
The dreaded VAR said the ball had gone out of play and ruled the goal out.
If one looks at that logically, it doesn’t really make any sense.
How many errors were made in the build-up to the Brentford goal?
Or for that matter, how many errors are made in buildups to every goal?
How far does the VAR need to go back?
Is the benchmark 19 seconds?
In truth, the ball did go out of play and it should have been a throw-in, however, can anyone say that if the throw-in was given, 19 seconds later, the ball wouldn’t have ended up top and Tammy wouldn’t have put the ball in the back of the net?
Nineteen seconds is a long way to go back and change history.
Added to that, would anyone have noticed that the ball had gone out, if the VAR had not highlighted the situation?
Donyell Malen has left Aston Villa and headed to Italy joining Roma, initially on loan but with a view to becoming a permanent Roman at the end of this campaign.
Aston Villa smashed Bournemouth at Villa Park back in November.
Goals from Emiliano Buendia, Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley and Donyell Malen gave Unai’s Claret and Blues the victory over Andoni’s Cherries from a 4-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Bournemouth at 7/4, the Draw at 12/5 and 7/5 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/1 that Evanilson Scores First and 8/5 that Tammy Abraham Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BURNLEY v WEST HAM
15.00 in England
One should feel sorry for the Clarets faithful who had made the long journey from Turf Moor to the Stadium of Light (around a 300 mile/6 hour round trip) to see their beloved Burnley team suffer a defeat against Sunderland by a 3-0 scoreline.
Not only that but the Burnley players didn’t muster up a Shot on Target throughout the 90-odd minutes.
One doesn’t need a UEFA A or B Coaching Licence to know that a team won’t score if they don’t, at least have a Shot on Target.
The Clarets stay in 19th place with 15 points from the 24 games completed.
Burnley have signed James Ward-Prowse on loan from West Ham for the remainder of the season.
Nuno Espírito Santo just doesn’t like James having taken him on loan when he was the Nottingham Forest Manager, hardly playing the lad then sending him back to West Ham this time last year.
James played regularly under Graham Potter, right up until the 20th of September 2025, when, after a defeat against Crystal Palace, Graham was sacked and replaced by Nuno and has not played since.
So it’s obviously a good move for both parties.
It’s a shame that James won’t be able to play today as there may have been a few gestures to each other from both NES and JWP.
Bye-bye Jim.
Cheers Nuno!
West Ham snatched a defeat from the jaws of victory against Chelsea on Saturday.
This EveryTip column often uses that phrase and what it means is that a team (West Ham) were comfortably ahead and looking at a victory, before the opposition (Chelsea) came back and scored more goals to inflict the defeat on the team that was in front.
Jarrod Bowen sent in a cross early on but with no body else getting involved, the ball went straight into the Chelsea net to give the Hammers a lead after 7 minutes.
The lead was then doubled when Crysencio Summerville scored a brilliant goal to give West Ham a lead at the break.
The problem (if one can call it a problem) was that the New Chelsea Manager, Liam Rosenior had picked a starting eleven that was tactically inept with the whole of the Blues’ left side being overrun by the Hammers.
Liam, as with most of the watching millions, realised this and changed his team at half-time, bringing on a better Left-Back (Marc Cucurella), a better Left-Centre Half (Wesley Fofana) and a better Left-Forward (Joao Pedro), completely changing the proceedings.
West Ham were outplayed in the 2nd-half, eventually conceding 3 goals to ultimately suffer the away-night defeat by a 3-2 scoreline.
The loss leaves Nuno’s Hammers in 18th place with 20 points from the 24 games completed.
West Ham have brought in Pablo Felipe, paying the Portuguese Club Gil Vicente £20 Million for the Striker.
Added to Pablo’s signing, the Hammers have signed Valentin Castellanos from Lazio for a fee of around £25 Million.
Valentin has decided to have ‘Taty’ put on the back of his shirt.
That may be a mistake in the long run, as where John Newsome comes from, ‘Taty’ means ‘potato’
The Bubbles will be hoping they have not signed a potato.
Lucas Paqueta is no longer a Hammer, with the enigmatic Brazilian Midfielder, leaving London and heading back to his homeland, joining Flamengo for £37 Million.
West Ham gained the home victory over Burnley in the Game Week-11 encounter at the London Stadium.
Zian Flemming scored first to give Burnley a lead.
Callum Wilson scored an equaliser on the stroke of half-time to take both teams in level at the break.
Tomas Soucek scored a 2nd for the Hammers in the 77th minute with Kyle Walker-Peters adding a 3rd 10 minutes later.
That wasn’t the end of the goals.
Josh Cullen scored a very late goal for Burnley in the 97th minute, however, time ran out, leaving West Ham with the victory over Burnley from a 3-2 scoreline.
Betfred offer Burnley at 9/4, the Draw at 9/4 and 23/20 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Jarrod Bowen Scores First and slight Odds On 4/5 that there are Under 2.5 Goals.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

FULHAM v EVERTON
15.00 in England
Fulham could consider themselves unlucky, following a defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
After conceding 2 goals, to trail right up until the 85th minute, goals from Raul Jimenez (85th) and Kevin (91st), it was assumed that Marco Silva’s team had managed to get a draw.
Unfortunately for the Cottagers faithful in attendance, United scored a 3rd and ultimately the winner in the 94th minute to leave Fulham with a defeat from a 3-2 scoreline.
Marco wasn’t happy with Manchester United’s opening goal, which has been detailed in the Tottenham v Manchester United preview above.
However, for clarity, the following was stated-
‘There was some confusion just before the Casemiro goal, when the on-field referee John Brooks awarded United a penalty for a challenge by Fulham’s Jorge Cuenca on Matheus Cunha.

There are too many ‘Jobs for the Boys (and Girls)’ for the Premier League to get rid of the Video Assistant Referee.
There’s another strange VAR decision that will be explained in the Bournemouth v Aston Villa preview.’
The defeat leaves Fulham in 9th place with the same 34 points as Everton from the 24 games played.
Fulham have signed the highly rated Norwegian Youngster Oscar Bobb, with the Cottagers paying Man City around £27 Million.
Oscar has had a few injury problems over the last year but if the lad can get fit, Fulham do have a great player on their books, who Pep Guardiola has nurtured for several years.
It did appear that Everton would suffer a defeat against Brighton at the Amex on Saturday.
After conceding a goal in the 73rd minute to trail going into the 97th, Beto scored a very late equaliser that gave the Toffees a point from a draw by a 1-1 score.
It also resulted in David Moyes celebrating wildly and receiving a Yellow Card for his enthusiastic reaction to the late goal.
That’s the miserable PGMOL for everyone, booking an old man for showing some emotion.
Big Dave said he would have done a knee slide if his knees could have taken the excitement.
Jack Grealish’s Everton career could be over after the Man City loanee picked up an injury that will most probably rule the lad out for the rest of the season.
That’s not only a big blow for Jack and the Toffees but also for the Three Lions faithful who the majority would have liked to see JG in the squad for the World Cup this Summer.
Everton sit in 10th place with the same 24 points as today’s hosts both having completed 24 games.
Everton gained the home win when Fulham visited Hill Dickinson Stadium back in November.
Goals from Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane gave the Toffees the victory over the Cottagers by a 2-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Fulham at 21/20, the Draw at 11/5 and 13/5 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/1 that Harry Wilson Scores First and 23/10 that Fulham Score in Both Halves.

WOLVES v CHELSEA
15.00 in England
Wolves remain at the foot of the table with 8 points from 24 games played, following Saturday’s defeat against Bournemouth at Molineux.
There’s not much more to say about Rob Edwards’ Gold and Blacks other than his Wolves team will want to gain more than 11 points so as not to be the team with the fewest points ever in the history of the Premier League, which is currently Derby County, having gained 11 points in the 2007/8 campaign.
Oh and another thing,
‘You should have stayed at Middlesbrough Bob!’
Middlesbrough are joint top of the Championship and look set to be promoted, probably taking the place of Wolves.
Wolves have let Jorgen Strand-Larsen sign for Crystal Palace and have brought in Adam Armstrong from Southampton and Angel Gomes from Marseille.
Chelsea started the game against West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, as if the players had never met before.
The team chosen by Liam Rosenior, saw the whole left side being overrun by the Hammers, who scored 2 goals to lead at the break.
Liam, as with most of the watching millions, realised this and changed his team at half-time, bringing on a better Left-Back (Marc Cucurella), a better Left-Centre Half (Wesley Fofana) and a better Left-Forward (Joao Pedro).
The change saw an immediate improvement which eventually led to Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez scoring to give Chelsea the victory over West Ham by a 3-2 scoreline.
The win leaves Chelsea in 5th place with 40 points from the opening 24 games.
Chelsea got the home victory over Wolves when these two met at Stamford Bridge for the Game Week-11 encounter.
After a goalless 1st-half, Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto, all scored after the break, giving Enzo Maresca’s Blues the win from a 3-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Wolves at 18/5, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 4/6 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 15/8 that Chelsea Win To Nil.

NEWCASTLE v BRENTFORD
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
Newcastle suffered an away-night loss against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Anthony Gordon scored first to give Newcastle an early lead, however, it was then the Liverpool show, with the home team scoring twice before half-time and another 2 after the break, to inflict the defeat by a 4-1 scoreline.
That leaves Newcastle in 11th place with the same 33 points as Bournemouth.
Brentford gained a brilliant victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
Kevin Schade was shown a straight Red Card in the 42nd minute for kicking out at Matty Cash.
Although the Bees were now down to 10-men, Dango Ouatarra scored just before the break to give Brentford a lead at half-time.
With no further goals, the Bees held on for the victory from a 1-0 scoreline.
Some could say that Keith Andrews and his set of Bees were lucky following an Aston Villa goal that was bizarrely ruled out.
Brentford sit in 7th place with the same 36 points as Sunderland from the 24 games played so far.
Brentford gained the home win over Newcastle when the Magpies made the long journey South to face the Bees at the GTech Stadium.
Harvey Barnes scored in the 27th minute, to give the away team a lead at the break.
It was then the Brentford show, with Kevin Schade scoring the 1st Bees goal and Igor Thiago scoring twice, one being a penalty, to give Keith Andrews the points from a 3-1 scoreline.
Dan Burn had been shown 2 Yellow Cards and the subsequent Red in the 73rd minute when the score was 1-1, so Brentford definitely took advantage of having an extra man on the pitch.
Betfred offer Newcastle at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 13/5 and 11/4 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Harvey Barnes Scores First and 6/4 that Igor Thiago Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 8th
BRIGHTON v CRYSTAL PALACE
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Brighton looked set for a victory over Everton on Saturday, right up until the 97th minute, when the Toffees scored an equaliser to grab a draw from the jaws of defeat and knock the chips out of the Seagulls.
Pascal Gross, who has come back to the Amex following a couple of years away, scored the Brighton goal in the 73rd minute.
With time virtually up, Brighton conceded an equaliser in the final seconds to ultimately draw the game by a 1-1 score.
James Milner has now made 652 Premier League appearances and is edging closer to Gareth Barry’s record of most appearances in the Top Flight.
Gareth made 653 appearances.
Fabian Hurzeler sent on James in the 96th minute, when the score was 1-0, obviously thinking the game was over and giving Mr Milner another appearance (even though it was only for a minute!)
Everton then scored, with James Milner on the pitch.
Was that the right decision from Fabian?
Was it a vanity decision to get James closer to Gareth’s record?
Maybe in a couple of weeks time or at the end of the season, when James has overtaken Gareth Barry, then the draw against Everton will have been forgotten and everyone will laud James Milner for being the player who has made the most appearances in the Premier League.
On Saturday Night, however, the Seagulls faithful might have looked at that scenario in a different light.
Brighton sit in 13th place with 31 points from the opening 24 games played.
Crystal Palace gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
After Forest’s Neco Williams had stopped the ball going into the back of the net, Palace were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time.
Ismaila Sarr converted to level the score at the break.
Forest had scored their goal in the 5th minute.
Jean-Philippe Mateta was missing from the squad due to a possible move away from Selhurst Park on Transfer Deadline Day.
However, it appears there have been a few problems regarding JPM’s medicals and it looks like no one wants the Frenchman.
The point gained leaves Palace in 15th place with the same 29 points as Tottenham, both having played 24 games so far.
Crystal Palace went early in the January Transfer Window, bringing in Brennan Johnson from Tottenham for a fee of £35 Million.
Marc Guehi was sold to Man City for £20 Million, which is a great move for the England International.
The scorer wasn’t needed when Brighton travelled to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace back in November.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 0-0 score or as some might say, a goalless draw.
The faithful in attendance were delighted!
This fixture often produces
a draw with 7 of the last 13 games being stalemates.
Betfred offer Brighton at slight Odds On 10/11, the Draw at 5/2 and 11/4 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 11/4 that Ismaila Sarr Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LIVERPOOL v MAN CITY
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
This EveryTip column predicted a 4-3 scoreline in favour of Liverpool for the Liverpool v Newcastle late Saturday Night Football.
Whilst Newcastle only scored 1, which just happened to be the first goal of the game, Liverpool scored their side of the prediction, with goals from Hugo Ekitike (2), Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konate, giving Arne’s Slot Machines the victory by a 4-1 score.
It was a brilliant game to watch on Saturday Night and easily beats watching Michael McIntyre and his Wheel.
As this is a betting site and EveryTip offers up the best chance of earning a few quid, John Newsome just wants to give an example as to how hard it is to have a return on a bet.
Betfred offered the following ‘Bet Builder’ which is becoming more and more popular when putting on a Football punt.
Betfred’s Bet Builder-
‘Liverpool to Win, Hugo Ekitike to Score, Mohamed Salah 1+ Shots on Target & Florian Wirtz 1+ Shots on Target (was 9/2)-now 11/2.
Liverpool to Win- Won
Hugo Ekitike to Score- Won
Florian Wirtz 1+ Shots on Target- Won
Mo Salah 1+ Shots on Target- Lost
To show just how easy (or hard) a bet can be settled as Won (or Lost ), Mo was put clean through in the 2nd-half and just had to ‘Shoot on Target’ which was easy to do, for the bet to come in.
The Egyptian King ran through on goal and kicked the ball, with his Left Foot (should have used his Right!) wide of the goal, with the Newcastle ‘Keeper not needed.
Mo was then substituted!
Two pound at 11/2, gives a return of £13, which would have paid for the Saturday Night Takeaway for one.
Cheers Mr Salah.
It is still worth looking at having a ‘Bet Builder’ as it offers a lot of excitement throughout the game, with the possibility of the final ‘build’ of the bet, occurring in the last few minutes.
Liverpool remain in 6th place with 39 points after all of the weekends result.
Liverpool finished 3rd in the Champions League-League Phase and progressed to the last-16 without having to play a 2-legged qualifier in February.
Added to that, 5 of the 6 English teams (Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Man City) finished in the Top 8, all qualifying for the last-16, with just Newcastle finishing outside, however, Eddie’s Magpies can still qualify for the last-16 knockout stage, if they overcome Qarabag in a 2-legged affair in February.
Although there could easily be 6 English teams in the last-16, there are only Newcastle and Chelsea that can face each other in that round but that won’t be confirmed until after the February playoffs.
The earliest opportunity for any other all-English meetings is in the Quarter-Finals, when Man City could meet Arsenal and Chelsea or Newcastle could meet Tottenham or Liverpool.
Man City will be kicking themselves following Sunday’s game against Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
City were in complete control of the game with goals from Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo giving Pep’s Blues a lead at the break.
Tottenham were never in contention and were being outplayed that resulted in a chorus of boos from the LilyWhites faithful at half-time.
Man City then switched off in the 2nd-half allowing Tottenham to score twice, giving both teams a point from a draw by a 2-2 score.
With Arsenal winning on Saturday, the gap between the two is now 6 points with City sitting in 2nd place with 47 points from 24 games completed.
Aston Villa are in 3rd but stay on 45 points following a defeat against Brentford on Sunday.
The advantage is now back with the Gunners who would have to lose 2 more games than City for the places to be reversed.
Man City have gone big in the January Transfer Window, bringing in Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £65 Million and Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace for £20 Million.
Man City gained the victory over Liverpool at the Etihad back in November.
Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico and Jeremy Doku gave Pep’s High Flying Blues the home win over Arne’s Stuttering Slots from a 3-0 scoreline.
Erling had missed a penalty in the 13th minute before scoring the opener 15 minutes later.
Betfred offer Liverpool at 11/8, the Draw at 5/2 and 13/8 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Hugo Ekitike Scores First and 7/4 that Liverpool Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
