Whilst Man City’s fixture against Burnley and Leeds’ game against Bournemouth have both been brought forward to Wednesday the 22nd.
Man City face Southampton in the 1st Semi-Final of the FA Cup on Saturday, then Leeds take on Chelsea in the 2nd Semi-Final on Sunday.

BRIGHTON v CHELSEA

Sky Sports
Brighton come into this game against Chelsea off the back of gaining a point from a draw by a 2-2 score, in the late Saturday Afternoon fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After Tottenham had scored first in the 39th minute, Kaoru Mitoma equalised for Brighton on the stroke of half-time to make the score level at the break.
Tottenham scored a 2nd in the 77th minute, which they thought would be the winner, however, with time running out, Georginio Rutter, who was a 2nd-half substitute, scored another equaliser in the 95th minute to earn Brighton a great point and deny the ex-Seagulls Boss Roberto De Zerbi, a first win for his Tottenham team.
The point gained leaves Brighton in 9th place with the same 47 points as Everton from 33 games played.
The Seagulls remaining 5 fixtures are-
Chelsea (H), Newcastle (A), Wolves (H), Leeds United (A) and Manchester United (H).
Chelsea suffered a defeat against Manchester United in the Saturday Night Football at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
A single United goal in the 43rd minute was enough to inflict the loss on the Blues from a 1-0 scoreline.
That was the 6th loss from the last 7 games, with a win against Port Vale in the FA Cup coming from the other.
It’s the 4th Premier League defeat in a row and back to back losses against the Manchester clubs following a defeat against Man City last week.
Added to the 2 Champions League defeats against Paris Saint-Germain.
Not only have Chelsea lost those 4 Premier League games, the Blues have failed to score in any of them.
That run of Premier League results leaves Chelsea in 6th place with 48 points, however, that’s now the same number of points as Brentford and Bournemouth and just a point more than today’s opponents Brighton.
The single boys and girls all love a Saturday Night Football instead of watching Michael McIntyre’s Wheel or the Pottery Throw On Ice, however, it does limit the WhatsApp Group’s discussion on the relevant game.
On Saturday Night, John Newsome sent the following, knowing the 2 recipients in the ‘Group’ (if one can call 3 folk a ‘Group’) wouldn’t be allowed to watch the football but sent the message out anyway.
‘He’s probably a nice kid that Liam Rosenior but he’s way out of his depth managing these (Chelsea), he looks like Harry Potter’s won a competition’
That’s basically the situation at Stamford Bridge at the moment, Chelsea are a decent team, with some great players, yet the Manager isn’t up to that standard.
Chelsea need an elite person to oversee the team, not Liam Rosenior.
That may appear harsh but that is the reality of the Premier League and if Chelsea want to improve and progress, the hierarchy need to look at appointing an Elite Manager.
It’s quite possible that the Blues could miss out on all the European Competitions, the Champions League is definitely out of the equation but so could the Europa League or Conference League.
Which one assumes is not what the hierarchy want.
Chelsea’s final 5-games-
Brighton (A), Nottingham Forest (H), Liverpool (A), Tottenham (H) and Sunderland (A).
Good luck with those, Blues!
Brighton gained the away day win when the Seagulls flew up to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea at the end of September.
Enzo Fernandez scored the opener to give Chelsea a lead at the break.
It was then the Brighton show with 2nd-half goals from Danny Welbeck (2) and Maxim De Cuyper giving Fabian Hurzeler’s men the victory over Enzo Maresca’s boys from a 3-1 scoreline.
The Seagulls were helped to secure the win when Trevoh Chalobah was sent off in the 53rd minute, while the score was 1-0 in favour of the Blues.
Betfred offer Brighton at 7/5, the Draw at 11/4 and 13/8 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 3/1 that Cole Palmer, Danny Welbeck and Enzo Fernandez All Have 1+ Shot On Target.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v LEEDS UNITED
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
The following was suggested by John Newsome in this EveryTip column published on the 7th of April 2026-
‘Another question to ask is,
Will Andoni Iraola still be the Cherry Manager next season?’
Bournemouth were quick to answer John and have announced this week that Andoni Iraola will leave the club at the end of this campaign.
Usually, once a decision like that has been made, the players subconsciously down tools knowing that they will have to impress someone else now.
That wasn’t the case on Saturday, when Bournemouth made the long journey North to St James Park and came away with a victory over Newcastle by a 2-1 scoreline.
Marcus Tavernier scored the opener in the 32nd minute to give Bournemouth a lead at the break.
Newcastle did score an equaliser midway through the 2nd-half, however, that wasn’t the end of the goals.
Bournemouth’s Left-Back Adrien Truffert scored what turned out to be the winner in the 85th minute to give the Cherries the win in the Eddie Howe Derby.
The Cherries sit in 8th place with the same 48 points as Brentford and Chelsea, going into the final 5 games that remain.
The ‘someone else’ coming in as the New Boss is the former RB
Leipzig boss Marco Rose,
Mr Rose has signed a 3-year contract and will take over the Cherries in the summer.
The 49 year-old has been without a club since he was sacked by Leipzig in March 2025.
Bournemouth’s remaining 5-fixtures-
Leeds United (H), Crystal Palace (H), Fulham (A), Man City (H) and Nottingham Forest (A).
Leeds basically secured their Premier League status for next season by gaining a victory over Wolves at Elland Rd on Saturday.
Goals from James Justin, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Daniel Farke’s Whites the win over Rob Edwards’ Gold and Blacks from a 3-0 scoreline.
The valuable 3-points leaves Leeds in 15th place with 39 from 33 games played.
That’s only 3 points behind Newcastle who sit a place above with 42 points.
The victory over the bottom team married with West Ham’s result on Monday officially confirmed Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League.
Leeds remaining fixtures are-
Bournemouth (A), Burnley (H), Tottenham (A), Brighton (H) and West Ham (A)
There was an infamous game between Bournemouth and Leeds United in the old Division 2, (now the Championship) back in May 1990.
The fixture was the final game of the 1989/90 campaign and had been scheduled for Saturday May 5th which just happened to be a Bank Holiday weekend.
Leeds United, under the guidance of Howard Wilkinson, were joint top of Division 2 with fellow Yorkshiremen Sheffield United, both with 82 points going into the finale.
Leeds had a far superior goal difference than Sheffield United, so knew a win would see them promoted as Champions.
Bournemouth, who had Harry Redknapp at the helm, were just above the relegation places in 21st (24 in total) with 48 points, a point more than Middlesbrough who were in the drop zone (22nd) on 47 points, with the Cherries needing to at least match Middlesbrough’s result in their final game against Newcastle, to stay up.
Bradford (23rd) and Stoke (24th) were already relegated before the final set of fixtures.
Middlesbrough’s opponents Newcastle were sat in 3rd place with 80 points, 2 adrift of Leeds United and Sheffield United, so were wanting to get a victory over ‘Boro and hope one or both of the Yorkshire teams would lose, to be promoted automatically.
As the weekend progressed, it was matters off the Dean Court pitch, rather than on it that took centre stage.
(Dean Court is the home of Bournemouth, now known as the Vitality Stadium.)
There were an estimated 10,000 of the West Yorkshire Puddings who had made the long journey South to Bournemouth, a round trip of 520 miles.
Granted it was a Bank Holiday weekend, so many were seeing it as a Jolly Boys (and Girls) Outing, however, there were only 4,000 tickets given to the Leeds’ fans, so by design, there were going to be a few who couldn’t get into the stadium.
Maybe the ‘fun in the sun’ so to speak, took some pressure
off the players but there are better ways of doing that!
Holding this game on a
Bank Holiday weekend was always going to be a bad idea but that was no excuse for what went on.
In the sleepy seaside town largely
populated with, shall one say, rather mature residents, it’s fair to say some behaviour was not the carpet bowls and afternoon bingo the locals were used to.
The West Yorkshire Puddings travelled en masse, all in the hope of a weekend to remember.
The football aside, it would be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Despite warnings from Dorset police about potential violence, the game went ahead.
It resulted in scenes that would leave a lasting impression on English and European football.
Bobby Robson’s England were due to travel to Italy the following month to play in the World Cup Finals and UEFA were still considering whether to end the English exile from European action after five years.
That weekend of mayhem, with the damage reported at more than £1 Million, has not been forgotten.
“I don’t think Bournemouth had seen anything like that in all its history,” says former Police Sergeant Martin Webster, who was on duty throughout, what became known as The Battle of Bournemouth.
In Leeds, the Puddings were printing ‘Invasion of Bournemouth’ T-shirts weeks before.
Nobody was certain how pivotal the final-day fixture would be.
In truth, everyone connected with Leeds United thought the team would already be promoted so the trip to Bournemouth was just going to be a fun weekend away.
However, defeats against Wolves on the 31st of March, added to a loss against Oldham and Barnsley, plus draws against Bradford, Plymouth and Brighton, all in April, had seen Leeds accrue just 1 win (Sheffield United) over a 7 game period leading up to the penultimate game against Leicester and then the final fixture against Bournemouth.
So a total of 6 points gained from a possible 21.
No wonder the White faithful were tense for the trip to the South Coast.
A quick note regarding Barnsley FC’s 1989/90 campaign, despite the Tykes finishing in 19th place with 54 points, the Super Reds did the Double over Leeds, gaining a win at Oakwell by a 1-0 scoreline (Darren Foreman with the goal) and then a victory at Elland Rd in the 3rd to the last game by a 2-1 score (Brendan O’Connell and Owen Archdeacon with the goals.)
Which probably didn’t help the nerves of the Leeds contingent as they all headed down to Bournemouth.
It’s fair to say, that the alcohol laden set of West Yorkshire Puddings wrecked the Dorset town, causing damage both inside and out of the Dean Court Stadium.
One hopes this weekend’s Premier League clash doesn’t involve any unpleasant off-field antics from the WYPs.
After returning to the Promised Land of Division One, Leeds spent the 1990/91 season acclimatising to life in the Big Time then went on to win the 1991/92 Division One Title, the last season under the old guise of Division One before the introduction of the Premier League at the start of the 1992/93 campaign.
Added to that, a certain Eric Cantona won the Ligue Un Title with Marseille in 1991, the Division One Title with Leeds United in 1992 and the Premier League Title with Manchester United in 1993 and 1994, 4 League Titles in a Row for Le Magnifique.
Not many players have that on their CV.
The French lad had won the Ligue Un Title with Marseille in 1989 also and the Premier League Title with Manchester United in 1996 and 1997, meaning a staggering 7 League Titles in 9 seasons before retiring from the Beautiful Game, just short of his 31st Birthday.
To add also as a bit of housekeeping, Newcastle, who were vying for promotion going into the final fixture against Middlesbrough, sat in 3rd, with 80 points, 2 adrift of Sheffield United and Leeds United, actually lost their game against ‘Boro, which not only resulted in Middlesbrough jumping above Bournemouth and relegating the Cherries but also saw Newcastle resigned to the Playoffs, where they faced their North East rivals Sunderland.
Sunderland gained the victory over Newcastle, then lost the Playoff Final to Swindon, which should have seen Swindon promoted to Division One along with the two Yorkshire Boys (and girls).
However, the older listeners will know that the Football Association would not allow Swindon to be promoted to the Top Flight due to the club making ‘illegal payments’ which meant Sunderland, who had lost the Playoff Final, were promoted to Division One.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score, when the Cherries ventured up the road to Elland Rd back in September.
Joe Roden scored for Leeds to cancel out Antoine Semenyo’s opening goal for Bournemouth to leave the score level at half-time.
Sean Longstaff then scored a 2nd for Leeds just after the restart and when the clock ticked over the 90-minute mark, the Whites assumed a victory was on the cards.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be, when Eli Kroupi Junior scored a Bournemouth equaliser in the 93rd minute to give both teams a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.
Betfred offer Bournemouth at 21/20, the Draw at 13/5 and 12/5 for Leeds United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Eli Kroupi Junior Scores First and 23/10 that a Penalty Is Awarded.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BURNLEY v MAN CITY
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Burnley’s time in the Premier League is slowly coming to an end with the season fizzling out like a Catherine Wheel in the rain.
The Clarets sit in 19th place with 20 points from the 33 games played, the latest being another defeat against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
Zian Flemming did score first to give Burnley a lead at the break, however, it was then the Forest show in the 2nd-half, with the home team scoring 4 times to inflict the loss on Scott Parker’s boys by a 4-1 scoreline.
That was Burnley’s 3rd loss in a row and the 5th loss in the last 7, with the other 2 being draws.
Burnley’s relegation will be confirmed if a victory over Man City is not achieved.
One can’t quite believe what has just been said, Burnley have to beat Man City who need a win to go Top of the Table, to delay the inevitability of relegation.
Good luck with that Scotty.
One thing to say about Scott Parker and the Burnley hierarchy, which is refreshing, is that Scott’s position as Boss has never really been in doubt and despite not having won many or being able to get out of the relegation zone, the hierarchy has kept faith with Mr Parker.
Whether a change will be made at the end of the season is unknown, however, are the hierarchy resigned to the fact that staying in the Premier League is a forlorn experience and it would be better to keep Scott Parker for another Championship campaign that could more than likely lead to promotion back to the Promised Land.
Scott has gained promotion to the Premier League with 3 teams, Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley.
So the thinking might be-
‘Why get rid of someone who can get the team back in the Premier League next season?’
If Burnley did get rid of Scott, then the type of Manager that the hierarchy would want to get back promoted next season is a Scott Parker.
So keep with the boy, accept that relegation will occur due to the finances and levels that Burnley have and are and know that the club is in good hands with a Manager who is experienced at getting a team promoted to the Premier League.
As mentioned, refreshing!
The Clarets remaining 5-fixtures are-
Man City (H), Leeds (A), Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A) and Wolves (H).
So it’s happened, the thing that most pundits (Paul Merson and the rest of the Gooners) said wasn’t going to, has!
Even John Newsome and this EveryTip column assumed that Arsenal were going to be the 2025/26 Premier League Champions.
On March the 17th, in the Game Week-31 EveryTip preview, a week where Arsenal and Man City were both absent due to taking part in the Carabao Cup Final, the following was put-
‘A quick note regarding the Premier League Title Race, with the two main protagonists not taking part in this Game Week-31 encounter.
There’s an old proverb which is now probably not politically correct, that goes-
‘It ain’t over until the Fat Lady sings!’
Which basically means an event doesn’t finish until the Fat Lady sings the final song of the show.
Whilst the Premier League Title Race isn’t officially over, the Fat Lady or the Rotund Girl is warming up her voice, ready for Arsenal to be crowned Champions, which after Saturday Nights Football (March 14th) over a 2 hour period, saw Arsenal gain a victory over Everton by a 2-0 score, then later in the evening, see Man City gain a draw with West Ham, to leave the gap between Arsenal and City, now at a massive 9 points.
Arsenal have played a game more than Man City but in reality, that game is irrelevant.
(At the time of print-
Arsenal’s remaining fixtures were-)
Arsenal v Bournemouth- (Lost)
Man City v Arsenal- (Lost)
Arsenal v Newcastle
Arsenal v Fulham
West Ham v Arsenal
Arsenal v Burnley
Crystal Palace v Arsenal
Four of the seven games are at the Emirates and apart from the fixture against Man City, the rest are against teams that are 9th or lower in the table.
Man City’s remaining fixtures were-
Chelsea v Man City-(Win)
Man City v Arsenal-(Win)
Burnley v Man City
Everton v Man City
Man City v Crystal Palace
Man City v Brentford
Bournemouth v Man City
Man City v Aston Villa
As one can see, Man City have games against 6 of the clubs in the Top 10.
Even if one takes away the 9-point advantage that Arsenal currently have over City, the Gunners remaining fixtures appear to be a lot easier than City’s.
The simple reality is that Arsenal would have to lose 3 of those fixtures above including the game against Man City and then City win all 8 of their games for Arsenal not to win the title.
It’s highly unlikely that Arsenal will lose again this season and maybe at worst, just once against Man City, so to lose 3 out of their remaining 7 and Man City win all 8, is probably not going to happen.
Man City can now only get a maximum of 85 points.
That would then be 82 points if Arsenal get a victory over Man City at the Etihad.
Arsenal will achieve 82 points if they win the next 4 games (including the game against City).
Added to that, Arsenal have a slightly better goal difference, currently plus+7 over Man City.
The Fat Lady is definitely warming up her voice, ready for singing-
‘The Angel-(North London Forever!)’
Which is the Arsenal go-to song that the Gooners sing before each game at the Emirates.’
That was the scenario before Game Week-32.
Going into the Carabao Cup Final, Arsenal were unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions going back to the Game Week-23 affair against Manchester United on the 25th of January 2026.
Premier League- 6 Wins, 2 Draws and 0 Losses.
Champions League- 2 Wins, 1 Draw and 0 Losses.
FA Cup- 2 Wins, 0 Losses and 0 Draws.
Carabao Cup- 1 Win, 0 Losses and 0 Draws.
Since the Carabao Cup Final on the 22nd of March, Arsenal’s results in all competitions have been the following-
Carabao Cup Final- 1 Loss.
FA Cup- 1 Loss.
Champions League- 1 Win, 1 Draw and 0 Losses.
Premier League- 2 Losses.
Since the 2 drawn games against Nottingham Forest and West Ham, Man City have faced Real Madrid over 2-legs and lost both.
Apart from that, Pep’s High Flying Blues have beaten Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final and then in the Premier League on Sunday.
Added to progression in the FA Cup with a win against Liverpool.
Whilst the Rotund Lady was warming up her vocal cords, someone must have knocked on her door and said-
‘Stop the warbling love, Bottle Jobs Arsenal have imploded and look set to miss out on the Premier League Title!’
With Mrs Singer simply replying-
‘Again?’
Arsenal did put in a better performance at the Etihad on Sunday than in the Carabao Cup final, however, City were just too good.
Rayan Cherki scored a brilliant individual goal after 16 minutes which should have calmed the nerves of the watching Citizens in attendance plus the others watching at home or in the Pub on the 55 inch.
One says ‘should’ as straight from the restart, Gianluigi Donnarumma made a horrendous error and gifted Arsenal an equaliser.
It was then left to the main man Erling Haaland who scored the winner in the 65th minute to give City the points from a 2-1 scoreline.
The simple scenario now is (if one can call it simple) both teams can achieve 85 points if both win their remaining games.
Arsenal have 5 games left, meaning 5 wins = 15 points, to add to the 70 on the board already, total 85.
Man City have 6 games left, meaning 6 wins = 18 points, to add to the 67 already gained, total 85.
At the moment the goal difference is-
Arsenal- goals scored 63 and conceded 26, plus+37.
Man City- goals scored 65 and conceded 29, plus+36.
A win tonight, even by just a 1-0 score, will automatically mean that Man City’s goal difference is at least the same as Arsenal’s, then it will be determined on Goals Scored, who move to the Top.
City will have scored more, so will be Top of the Table if a win is achieved against Burnley, before Arsenal’s next outing which is on Saturday.
Here’s the schedule over the next few Game Weeks-
Game Week-34
April 22- Burnley v Man City (20.00)
April 25- Arsenal v Newcastle (17.30)
Game Week-35
May 02- Arsenal v Fulham (17.30)
May 04- Everton v Man City (20.00)
Game Week-36
May 09- Man City v Brentford (17.30)
May 10- West Ham v Arsenal (16.30)
Game Week-37
Arsenal v Burnley (Date and Time to be confirmed)
Bournemouth v Man City (Date and Time to be confirmed)
Game Weeks-31
May 22- Man City v Crystal Palace (20.00)
Game Week-38
(Both games kickoff at 16.00 in England)
May 24- Crystal Palace v Arsenal
May 24- Man City v Aston Villa
Although Man City will go top with a win against Burnley, (both having 70 points from 33 games played), most assume that the Burnley fixture is the game in hand, however, it’s actually not.
Both teams will then have played 33 times, however, the Gunners still have their Game Week-34 fixture to come giving Arsenal the opportunity to leapfrog City back to the summit with a win over Newcastle on Saturday in the said Game Week-34 encounter.
Potentially after GW-34-
1-Arsenal 73 points
2-Man City 70 points
The Game Week-35 fixtures sees Arsenal play first on Saturday, which in essence means that the Gunners could have a 6 point advantage over Man City, who don’t play their GW-35 affair until Bank Holiday Monday, 2 days after Arsenal’s game.
Potentially after GW-35-
1-Arsenal 76 points
2-Man City 73 points
Game Week-36 sees Man City play first on Saturday, before Arsenal take to the pitch on Sunday, leaving the Gunners still at the summit with a 3 point advantage if both get the expected victory over that particular weekend.
Potentially after GW-36-
1-Arsenal 79 points
2-Man City 76 points
The Game Week-37 schedule hasn’t been announced yet so it’s unsure as to who will play first.
Arsenal face Burnley, so if that game is scheduled first before Man City take on Bournemouth, Arsenal (provided both teams have won all their games up to now) will still have a 6 point advantage over Man City, with City having to travel down to Bournemouth, whereas Arsenal are at home against Burnley.
Potentially after GW-37-
1-Arsenal 82 points
2-Man City 79 points
It’s then the real game in hand for Man City who take on Crystal Palace at the Etihad on the 22nd of May.
Potentially after both have completed 37 games-
1-Arsenal 82 points
2-Man City 82 points
(Position 1 and 2 will be determined, firstly on Goal Difference, then Goals Scored if the Goal Difference is the same.)
It’s worth mentioning that Crystal Palace could have a say in where the title goes, with the Eagles final 2 games against Man City and Arsenal.
Added to that, Palace face Man City at the Etihad, whereas the fixture against Arsenal is at Selhurst Park.
Having given all the information on offer to give everyone an idea of what is happening in the Premier League run in, one has to consider unknown factors which could mean that the Premier League Title destination isn’t as straightforward as mentioned.
A few questions can be asked such as-
Are Man City a certainty to go to Hill Dickinson Stadium and get a win over Everton?
Then the same question can be asked about the trip to the Vitality Stadium for the fixture against Bournemouth?
City face Brentford, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa at the Etihad, so one would think those are home wins.
Arsenal face Newcastle, Fulham and Burnley at the Emirates, so again, one can only see home wins there.
West Ham and Crystal Palace away look easier than City’s Everton and Bournemouth away trips.
There’s also the little matter of Arsenal’s Champions League Semi-Final 2-legs against Atletico Madrid, bookending the Game Week-35 affair against Fulham.
One last thing to say is how brilliant the English Premier League is with the Title going down to the wire.
Bundesliga-
Bayern Munich are currently 15 points ahead of the 2nd place team Borussia Dortmund with 4 games remaining.
Done and Dusted.
Serie A-
Inter are 12 points ahead of AC Milan and Napoli having played the same number of games (33) as the Premier League.
D and D!
La Liga-
Barcelona are 9 points clear of Real Madrid with 7 games remaining, plus the two have to meet in El Classico.
Not yet Done and Dusted but the Fat Lady is getting on a flight from England to Spain.
Ligue Un-
Paris Saint-Germain are just 1-point ahead of Lens with PSG having 6 games left.
Lens have 5 games remaining and the rest only have 4.
Almost Done and Dusted.
Man City’s remaining 6 games-
(Remember it’s 6 due to the postponed game against Crystal Palace)
Burnley (A), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Bournemouth (A) Crystal Palace (H) and Aston Villa (H).
Man City smashed Burnley at the Etihad back in late September.
The unfortunate Burnley Defender Maxime Esteve (Steve to his mates) was credited with City’s first goal after 12 minutes.
Jaidon Anthony did score an equaliser for Burnley to make the score level at the break.
It was then 2nd-half goals from Matheus Nunes, Maxime Esteve (again-ooof, the lad must have been trying to impress Mr Guardiola) and a couple from Erling Haaland giving Pep’s High Flying Blues the victory over Scott’s Clarets from a 5-1 scoreline.
Cheers Steve!
Betfred offer Burnley at 16/1, the Draw at 13/2 and Odds On 1/7 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/4 that Erling Haaland Scores First and slight Odds On 4/5 that Man City Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

SUNDERLAND v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Sunderland played in a great game against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
However, although a great game for the neutral, it was a loss for the Black Cats with Aston Villa inflicting a defeat by a 4-3 scoreline.
The goals going in as follows-
2′ Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa 1-0)
9′ Chris Rigg (Sunderland 1-1)
36′ Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa 2-1)
Half-Time Chicken Balti Pie and Chips and a Bottle of Vimto.
46′ Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa 3-1)
86′ Trai Hume (Sunderland 3-2)
87′ Wilson Isidor (Sunderland 3-3)
90+3′ Tammy Abraham (Aston Villa 4-3)
Full-Time Spaghetti Carbonara and Glass of Rouge.
Sunderland sit in 11th place with 46 points from 33 games played.
Regardless of what happens in the remaining games, it’s still been a great season back in the Premier League under Regis Le Bris who it’s fair to say, as surprised everyone and should be a contender for Manager of the Year.
Sunderland’s 5 game run in-
Nottingham Forest (H), Wolves (A), Manchester United (H), Everton (A) and Chelsea (H).
After conceding a Burnley goal on the stroke of half-time to trail at the break, it was all Forest in the 2nd-half, with a Morgan Gibbs-White hat-trick and a Igor Jesus goal, giving the Tricky Trees the victory over the Clarets from a 4-1 scoreline.
That was Vitor Pereira’s first home Premier League win, which came off the back of a victory against Porto last Thursday in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final.
That victory over Porto from a 2-1 aggregate scoreline, sets up an All-English and for that matter, an All- Midlands Semi-Final against Aston Villa for a place in the Europa League Final against Braga or Freiburg who contest the other Semi.
The win over Burnley leaves Nottingham Forest in 16th place with 36 points from 33 games played.
Forest’s remaining 5-PL fixtures-
Sunderland (A), Chelsea (A), Newcastle (H), Manchester United (A) and Bournemouth (H).
If one looks at the remaining games, it’s still going to be a tough ask for Forest to get the wins to avoid relegation.
A single Omar Alderete goal, scored after 38 minutes, gave Sunderland the away-day victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground back in September.
Because Forest have had that many Managers this season, it’s hard to remember who oversaw the loss but as it turned out, it was Ange Postecoglou, in his 3rd Premier League game in charge, (2 losses and a draw), his 5th game as Boss (3 losses and 2 draws) meaning his 5th game without a win.

Saturday 25th
FULHAM v ASTON VILLA
12.30 in England
TNT Sport
Fulham played in a very dull game at the GTech Stadium against Brentford in the early Saturday Afternoon Football.
The highlight of the fixture was when the referee blew the whistle for full-time which resulted in a bore draw from a 0-0 score.
That’s probably the only thing one can take from the game.
Fulham sit in 12th place with 45 points from 33 games completed.
Fulham’s final 5 games-
Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A), Bournemouth (H), Wolves (A) and Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa were cruising against Sunderland at Villa Park on Sunday.
Ollie Watkins scored first which was quickly equalised by Sunderland, however, Ollie notched again to give Villa a lead at the break.
Morgan Rogers then scored a 3rd for Villa just after the restart which should have settled the nerves of the Villains in attendance.
Not so, as Sunderland then scored 2 goals in the space of a minute (86th and 87th) to make the score level.
With the clock ticking down, Tammy Abraham scored what turned out to be the winner in the 93rd minute to give Villa the victory over Sunderland from a 4-3 scoreline.
Aston Villa remain in 4th place with the same 58 points as Manchester United, both having completed 33 games.
Unai Emery is a Europa League expert and will go all out to win the competition, thus gaining access into the Champions League.
However, Villa are 10 points clear of Chelsea in 6th so are almost guaranteed a Champions League spot from that 4th place with the Premier League getting 5 spots again.
A win today could guarantee a Top Five finish, depending on how Chelsea get on against Brighton this weekend.
Villa’s final 5-Premier League fixtures-
Fulham (A), Tottenham (H), Burnley (A), Liverpool (H) and Man City (A).
Raul Jimenez scored the opener when Fulham took on Aston Villa at Villa Park back in the Game Week-6 affair.
Ollie Watkins equalised just before half-time to take both teams in level at the break.
It was then the Villa show with 2nd-half goals from John McGinn and Emiliano Buendia, giving Unai Emery’s Claret and Blues the victory over Marco Silva’s Cottagers from a 3-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Fulham at 6/4, the Draw at 13/5 and 8/5 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Ollie Watkins Scores First and 12/5 that Aston Villa Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LIVERPOOL v CRYSTAL PALACE
15.00 in England
Liverpool scored a last gasp goal in the 100th minute to gain a victory over Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday by a 2-1 scoreline.
Mo Salah scored in the 1st-half to give Liverpool a lead at the break.
Everton then equalised just after the restart and when the clock ticked over the 90 minute mark, it did appear that a draw was on the cards.
The officials put up 11 minutes of injury time which did seem a little too much.
It was the away team that took advantage of the 11 minutes by scoring in the 100th minute (90+10) with Virgil Van Dijk heading home the late winner.
As Chris ‘Kammy’ Kamara would say-
‘Unbelievable Jeff!’
The (very) late winner leaves Liverpool in 5th place with 55 points from 33 games played, meaning a gap of 7 points to the chasing pack for that lucrative 5th place finish and Champions League football next season.
This seasons European Adventure is over, with Paris Saint-Germain gaining a 2-legged victory over the Reds to knock Arne’s Slots out of that competition.
Liverpool’s final 5-fixtures-
Crystal Palace (H), MANCHESTER UNITED (A), Chelsea (H), Aston Villa (A) and Brentford (H).
It appeared that all the Game Week-33 excitement occurred in the fixtures 2-9, with fixture 10 between Crystal Palace and West Ham producing the same bore draw as fixture 1- Brentford v Fulham.
Crystal Palace had made it to the Semi-Final of the Europa Conference League with an aggregate 2-legged victory over Fiorentina.
Oliver Glasner then said to his Eagles,
‘Go and have a few pints of Shandy to celebrate!’
The lads did just that but maybe had a pint too much or for that matter, not enough as the display against West Ham on Monday was abject at best.
It’s rumoured the West Ham boys went out also, because their performance at Selhurst Park wasn’t that good either.
The point gained from the goalless draw sees Palace sit in 13th place with 43 points from 33 games played.
Palace’s remaining 6-games-
(It’s 6 due to the rearranged fixture against Man City that didn’t take place in March due to the Carabao Cup Final.)
Liverpool (A), Bournemouth (A), Everton (H), Brentford (A), Man City (A) and Arsenal (H).
There aren’t many teams that can say they have beaten Liverpool 3 times already this season.
Crystal Palace can!
The Eagles won the Community Shield against the Reds back in August, via a penalty shootout, when the game at Wembley finished 2-2.
In the Game Week-6 encounter at Selhurst Park, goals from Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah gave Oliver’s Army the win over Arne’s Stuttering Slots from a 2-1 scoreline.
Eddie scored the winner in the 97th minute after Federico Chiesa had equalised for Liverpool with 3 minutes remaining.
Palace then knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup in October, gaining a victory by a 3-0 scoreline, which was made more of an achievement with the game taking place at Anfield.
Can anyone say it won’t be 4 wins in a row?
Betfred offer Liverpool at Odds On 1/2, the Draw at 18/5 and 5/1 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Mo Salah Scores First and 7/4 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores Anytime.

WEST HAM v EVERTON
15.00 in England
The David Moyes Derby.
As just mentioned in the Liverpool v Crystal Palace preview, West Ham played in an exceptionally dull game against Palsce at Selhurst Park on Monday with the 0-0 scoreline, bookending the Game Week-33 set of results, following the opening game on Saturday also finishing in a 0-0 score.
The point gained, as remember, it’s always a point gained following a draw, leaves the Hammers in 17th place with 33 points from 33 games played.
Now 2 points more than Tottenham who occupy the final relegation place.
West Ham’s remaining 5-fixtures-
Everton (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A) and Leeds (H).
Everton thought they had gained a point in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday, however, a Liverpool goal scored in the 100th minute (yes 100th) left the Toffees devastated with a defeat from a 2-1 scoreline.
Liverpool had scored first on the half-hour mark to lead at the break.
Beto scored an equaliser for Everton just after the restart and it was thought, that was that when the clock ticked over the 90 minutes.
There was a bit of conjecture when the 4th official showed 11 minutes of added time, which must have been a shock to the watching Toffee faithful in attendance.
That shock turned to despair when Liverpool scored the winner in the 100th minute, leaving the Blue half of Merseyside devastated.
Or as the Scousers say-
‘Devoed!’
(Devoed-(or devo’d) is a British specifically Scouse/Northern English slang term meaning devastated, gutted, or extremely disappointed.
It is a shortened version of ‘devastated,’ often used to describe feelings about minor inconveniences or significant bad news.)
The defeat leaves Everton in 10th place with the same 47 points as Brighton, both having completed 33 fixtures.
Everton’s remaining 5-games-
West Ham (A), Man City (H), Crystal Palace (A), Sunderland (H) and Tottenham (A).
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score, when the Hammers ventured North to Hill Dickinson to face the Toffees back in September.
Michael Keane scored Everton’s goal midway through the 1st-half, to give Everton a lead at the break.
Jarrod Bowen then scored the West Ham equaliser in the 65th minute to give both teams a point apiece.
A victory for Everton could have devastating consequences for West Ham in their fight against relegation.
Will David Moyes want that?
Of course he will, plus Everton are still on course for a European Adventure next season.
Betfred offer West Ham at 6/4, the Draw at 12/5 and 7/4 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Jarrod Bowen Scores First and 18/5 that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Scores Anytime.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WOLVES v TOTTENHAM
15.00 in England
Wolves are officially relegated following Saturday’s defeat against Leeds United at Elland Rd and West Ham’s point against Crystal Palace on Monday, which confirmed the inevitable.
The loss against Leeds by a 3-0 score, leaves Rob Edwards’ Gold and Blacks at the bottom of the table with 17 points from 33 games played.
Rob Edwards will probably keep his job and set in motion a plan to get Wolves back in the Promised Land at the end of next season’s Championship campaign.
A bit similar to Scott Parker and Burnley.
Watch out for the final fixture.
Wolves’ remaining 5-games-
Tottenham (H), Sunderland (H), Brighton (A), Fulham (H) and Burnley (A).
Tottenham were very very close to obtaining a victory over Brighton on Saturday.
Pedro Porro scored first to give Tottenham a lead before Brighton got an equaliser to take both teams in level at the break.
Xavi Simons then scored a superb goal to give Tottenham a lead which looked liked the winner when the clock ticked over 90 minutes.
Unfortunately for the LilyWhites in attendance at the New Stadium, Brighton scored an equaliser in the 95th minute to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat.
It was still a point gained by Tottenham from the draw by a 2-2 score, which leaves Roberto De Zerbi’s men in 18th place with 31 points, still in the drop zone but now 2 points adrift of West Ham who are the safe team with 33 points.
Nottingham Forest and Leeds United both gained victories over the weekend, which means both are slowly moving closer to safety, leaving Tottenham and West Ham as the teams fighting it out to avoid finishing in 18th.
Tottenham’s remaining 5-games-
Wolves (A), Aston Villa (A), Leeds United (H), Chelsea (A) and Everton (H).
After a goalless 1st-half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September, Santiago Bueno scored for Wolves just after the restart to give the away team the lead.
That goal looked like the winner when the clock ticked over 90 minutes, however, Tottenham’s Joao Palhinha scored a very late equaliser to give both teams a point apiece from a 1-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Wolves at 10/3, the Draw at 3/1 and slight Odds On 11/8 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 15/2 that Xavi Simons Scores First and 15/8 that Tottenham Win To Nil.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ARSENAL v NEWCASTLE
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
Arsenal could now realistically be in 2nd place come kick-off tonight if Man City get the expected win over Burnley on Wednesday.
At the end of Game Week-33 the Gunners were still at the summit with 70 points, however, following the defeat against Man City on Sunday by a 2-1 scoreline, now have had the Title Race taken from their grasp.
After conceding a City goal in the 16th minute, Kai Havertz took advantage of a horrendous error from Gianluigi Donnarumma, closing down the City ‘Keeper and getting his body in front of Gianluigi’s kick with the ball rebounding into the net.
That was literally 100 seconds after City’s goal,
Arsenal did play well even hitting the post a few times but it was City who got the vital 2nd goal, to inflict the devastating defeat on the Gunners.
Arsenal have been labelled ‘bottlers’ ‘bottle jobs’ anything else with ‘bottle’ in the phrase, due to letting slip a 9 point advantage over Man City, when the Premier League Title was basically in an Uber on it’s way to the Emirates.
For those unfamiliar with the term ‘bottlers’-
In football, a ‘bottler’ (or the act of ‘bottling it) refers to a team or player who loses their nerve and spectacularly throws away a leading position or a high-ranking position in a league/tournament.
It signifies a mental collapse, often turning a secure win into a loss or failing to win a trophy after being favorites.
There’s a very famous incident which occurred in the 1996 Premier League Title run in, where the Newcastle Manager at the time, the great Kevin Keegan went on Sky Sports after Newcastle had just gained a victory over Leeds United.
Kevin was interviewed (immediately) after the game, obviously with his emotions running high and questioned Sir Alex’s comments about teams playing differently against Manchester United than they would against anyone else (Newcastle).
Kevin wasn’t happy with Mr Ferguson and went off on one, stating-
‘I would love it, if we beat them, love it !’
Mr Keegan passionately stated he would love it if Newcastle beat Manchester United to the title.
Newcastle had previously held a 12-point lead over United but saw it vanish as Sir Alex Ferguson questioned the motivation of teams facing the Magpies.
The outburst by KK, is widely seen as a turning point demonstrating the immense pressure Mr Keegan was under, as Manchester United went on to win the 1995/96 Premier League Title, finishing 4-points ahead of Newcastle.
The rant was voted the most memorable moment in the first 20 seasons of the Premier League.
It’s now exactly 30 years since that brilliant emotional moment, which shows just how important the Beautiful Game is to everyone.
Kevin Keegan is a legend of the game both as a player and a Manager but has had health issues recently, so one can only hope that the brilliant KK gets well soon and looks after himself.
It’s wondered if a certain Spaniard was thinking of going on Sky Sports last Sunday after blowing a 9 point advantage and stating in slightly broken English akin to Manuel from Fawlty Towers that-
‘I would a-lov it, a-lov it, if a-we beat a-them!’
Arsenal’s final 5-Premier League fixtures-
Newcastle (H), Fulham (H), West Ham (A), Burnley (H) and Crystal Palace (A).
When this fixture against Newcastle kicks off on Saturday, at the same time, Man City will be playing at Wembley in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup after knocking Arsenal out of that particular competition too.
That might just sting a bit for the Gunners whilst they sit in the home dressing room at the Emirates, just a couple of miles away.
Ouch!
What’s happened to Newcastle over the past few weeks.
Since gaining a victory over Chelsea in mid-March, the Magpies have lost their last 4 games, a Champions League tie against Barcelona, plus 3 Premier League fixtures.
The surprise there is that 2 of the 3 Premier League losses were at St James Park, the latest being against Bournemouth on Saturday.
William Osula scored the Newcastle equaliser midway through the 2nd-half after Bournemouth had scored the opener to lead at the break.
Unfortunately, for the Toon Army in attendance, the Cherries scored a 2nd late on and when time ran out, inflicted the loss on Newcastle from a 2-1 scoreline.
As mentioned previously, Eddie Howe’s position as Manager didn’t look in doubt but since Saturday’s defeat, there has been rumblings about the future of Eddie, with even the great Alan Shearer casting doubts about Mr Howe’s future.
It may just be a matter of seeing the season out then the hierarchy deciding who is the best option to replace Eddie Howe.
Added to that, there’s a few players that may be leaving St James Park at the end of the season.
Kieran Trippier is a definite to leave, plus Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes will have aspirations to play for a Champions League team or at least a team in a European Competition.
Lewis Hall will be on the market if the lad has a good World Cup in an England shirt.
It’s rumoured Chelsea are interested in the Left-Back, which does make one laugh, as it was Chelsea who sold Lewis to Newcastle for a fee of around £33 Million.
The return journey might see that fee become close to £80 Million.
Those are just a number of players who might not be wearing a Black and White jersey next season.
As for Eddie Howe, watch this space.
The good thing though is if Eddie is relieved of his duties at Newcastle, the lad won’t be out of work long as there would be a number of clubs lined up for his services.
Newcastle sit in 14th place with 42 points from 33 games played.
Newcastle’s final 5 fixtures-
Arsenal (A), Brighton (H), Nottingham Forest (A), West Ham (H) and Fulham (A).
Arsenal gained the away-day victory over Newcastle when the two met at St James Park for the Game Week-6 encounter.
Nick Woltemade scored for Newcastle in the 34th minute to give Newcastle a lead at the break.
Mikel Merino equalised for Arsenal in the 84th minute and when it appeared a draw was going to be the outcome, Gabriel scored the Arsenal winner in the 96th minute, to give the Gunners the win from a 2-1 scoreline and knock the stuffing out of the Toon Army in attendance.
Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 1/2, the Draw at 7/2 and 5/1 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Kai Havertz Scores First and 11/10 that Arsenal Score in Both Halves.

Monday 27th
MANCHESTER UNITED v BRENTFORD
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Manchester United have changed their name to ‘Monday Night United’ following this 6th game at 8 PM on a Monday Night.
The previous 5 Monday Night Football for the Red Devils have produced 2 wins (Everton and Wolves), 1 at Hill Dickinson and the other at Molineux, 2 losses (Everton and Leeds), both at Old Trafford) and 1 draw (Bournemouth) at Old Trafford.
After a draw and a loss in the previous 2 games, Manchester United got back to winning ways in the Saturday Night Football against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
A single Matheus Cunha goal scored in the 43rd minute was enough to give United all 3-points from victory over the Blues by a 1-0 scoreline.
It could be argued that United hung on for the win with Chelsea being the slightly better team, however, that is a mark of a club who are on the up under Super Michael Carrick.
It’s not sure yet if Michael will get the job on a full-time basis, that will be decided at the end of the season.
One thing to keep in mind is something that has been mentioned in this column previously and that is Michael has Steve Holland as one of his Assistant Coaches.
Steve was assistant to Sir Gareth Southgate in the England setup, so is Steve currently in at Old Trafford purely to help Michael Carrick or is the lad on a recce for Sir Gareth to see the workings of Manchester United from the inside, then will report back to the Dark Knight to give Sir Gareth his thoughts on whether to become the next permanent Manchester United Manager.
Which Sir Jim Radcliffe is wanting!
Sir Gareth Southgate?
The giving it (Knighthoods) out to anyone nowadays!
Manchester United remain in 3rd place with the same 58 points as Aston Villa going into the final 5 games.
That’s 10 points more than Chelsea, Brentford and Bournemouth, edging closer to confirming a Champions League spot for next season.
United’s 5-game run in-
Brentford (H), LIVERPOOL (H), Sunderland (A), Nottingham Forest (H) and Brighton (A).
The good people of West London were grateful that the fixture between Brentford and Fulham kicked off at 12.30 PM so that the local B and Q was still open at full-time.
Both sets of fan’s headed straight to the DIY Superstore, purchased some paint, put it on the fence and sat all afternoon watching said paint dry.
As that was better entertainment than the 90 odd minutes of football that took place at the GTech Stadium which resulted in a draw by a 0-0 score.
Enough said!
Brentford sit in 7th place with the same 48 points as Bournemouth and Chelsea, all having completed 33 games.
Brentford’s remaining fixtures-
Manchester United (A), West Ham (H), Man City (A), Crystal Palace (H and Liverpool (A).
Brentford stung United at the GTech Stadium back in September.
Two goals from Igor Thiago in the opening 20 minutes, plus a Mathias Jensen goal in the 95th gave Keith Andrews’ Bees the victory over Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils by a 3-1 scoreline.
Benjamin Sesko did score a consolation goal for United in the 1st-half to halve the deficit after Igor’s 2.
Every little helps.
Betfred offer Manchester United at slight Odds On 5/6, the Draw at 3/1 and 11/4 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 6/4 that Igor Thiago Scores Anytime.
