Game Week-37

These penultimate set of fixtures are the reverse of Game Week-10 which took place over the opening weekend of November 2025.

Friday 15th

ASTON VILLA v LIVERPOOL

20.00 in England

Sky Sports

Aston Villa gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday.

Villa comfortably beat Nottingham Forest in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League Semi-Final last Thursday and progressed to the Final, where they will face the German Club Freiburg in Istanbul on the 20th of May.

That’s 4 days before the final Premier League fixture.

Is that right?

Should all Finals be played after the season has ended?

This is Villa’s last game before that Final.

Is Unai Emery going to put out his strongest team to face Liverpool?

It’s highly unlikely, as Mr Emery put out a set of reserves, who hadn’t played together for 9 months, against Tottenham the other week.

After conceding an early goal against Burnley, Ross Barkley and Ollie Watkins scored for Villa, either side of the break to take the lead.

Burnley then scored a 2nd and with no further goals, both teams shared the points from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.

There’s a strange occurrence that could happen and that is, if Villa finish 5th and win the Europa League, the team that finishes 6th will also get a Champions League place.

The reason it’s considered ‘strange’ is because Aston Villa have to finish 5th for that to happen, if they finish 4th and win the Europa League, then there isn’t an extra Champions League spot.

Fifth place is given a Champions League place as the European Performance Spot, so it will be given to the team finishing 5th.

As Villa are currently 5th that’s theirs.

However, winning the Europa League, precedes the league position, so Villa will be in the Champions League via winning the Europa League.

The EPS (European Performance Spot) then goes to the team in 6th.

That then goes back to the issue raised earlier about all Finals should be played after the season has finished.

If Aston Villa win the Europa League on the 20th of May, before their final game, then they won’t be bothered about that particular fixture, which just happens to be against Man City at the Etihad, which could still have implications on who wins the Premier League.

Some could say-

‘Yes but if the Europa League Final is played after the season has finished, would Unai Emery rest his players in the game against Man City to be ready for the Final?’

Whilst a valid argument, Villa couldn’t rely on just winning the Europa League after the season has finished and would go all out to try and get the points from that final game, to finish in the Top Five knowing then that whatever happens in the Europa League, it’s the Champions League next season.

Liverpool also gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday.

What was strange about the early afternoon football was Liverpool started the game brilliantly and overran Chelsea for the first 15 minutes, with Ryan Gravenberch scoring in the 6th to settle the nerves of the Anfield Rappers in attendance.

However, come 15-20 minutes in, Liverpool seemed to stop playing and Chelsea came back into the game eventually getting an equaliser on 35 minutes to take both teams in level at the break.

The 2nd-half didn’t produce much and neither team added to the score, leaving both with a point apiece, from the early Saturday Afternoon kickoff.

Either of Liverpool or Aston Villa could have guaranteed a Top Five finish with a win over the weekend, however, although Liverpool sit in 4th place and Villa in 5th both with 59 points, both still need another 2 points to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Bournemouth sit in 6th place with 55 points, so they can achieve 61 in total, if successful in their last two games.

(Man City (H) and Nottingham Forest (A)).

Brighton can still get a total of 60 points.

(Leeds (A) and Manchester United (H)).

Obviously, there can only be one winner today, so either Liverpool or Aston Villa can get to 62 points and seal a Top Five finish, leaving the loser to try and grab 5th place.

Liverpool’s final fixture is against Brentford at Anfield.

Aston Villa’s finale is a clash against Man City at the Etihad.

Just imagine if the team that loses today, loses their final game and stays on 59 points, leaving the door open for Bournemouth or Brighton to sneak into 5th place.

Liverpool got the home win when Aston Villa visited Anfield back in November.

Mo Salah scored on the stroke of half-time to give Liverpool the lead at the break.

Ryan Gravenberch added a 2nd on the hour mark and with no further goals, Liverpool got the victory from a 2-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer Aston Villa at 15/8, the Draw at 11/4 and 6/4 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Ollie Watkins Scores First and 13/5 that Dominik Szoboszlai Scores Anytime.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 17th

MANCHESTER UNITED v NOTTINGHAM FOREST

12.30 in England

Sky Sports

There isn’t much to report about the game against Sunderland on Saturday, other than United only had 1 shot on target throughout the afternoon at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland weren’t much better with both teams failing to score, meaning a point apiece from a 0-0 draw.

United stay in 3rd place with 65 points from 36 games played.

That’s 6 points ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa with 2 games remaining and a plus+3 goal differential over the Reds so it’s probably fair to say that United will finish the season in 3rd place, which, considering the campaign didn’t start well under Ruben Amorim, is a brilliant achievement.

Bruno Fernandes has been voted the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, which again, is a brilliant achievement.

One thing everyone at Old Trafford needs to be aware of, is there haven’t been many games this season due to no European Adventure and being knocked out of both Cups pretty early on.

That will change next season with United involved in the Champions League.

It’s also hoped Super Michael Carrick gets the Manager’s job on a permanent basis and the legend is allowed to bring in some of his own players to bulk his squad for the extra games.

Manchester United finish off the 2025/26 campaign with a trip to the South Coast to take on Brighton at the Amex.

Nottingham Forest officially secured their Premier League status for next season, firstly gaining a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Newcastle on Sunday.

Then, seeing West Ham lose their fixture against Arsenal a couple of hours later.

It’s now a toss-up between Tottenham and West Ham as to who will be relegated.

Forest sit in 16th place with 43 points from 36 games played.

West Ham can only get 42 points.

After conceding a Newcastle goal, Elliot Anderson scored against his old club in the 88th minute to earn Forest that crucial point to make them safe.

The week eventually finished positively after Forest suffered a defeat against Aston Villa in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League Semi-Final on Thursday.

If one remembers, the Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis won a court hearing to have Crystal Palace relegated to the Europa Conference League and Nottingham Forest upgraded to the Europa League.

As the competitions have progressed, Crystal Palace find themselves in the Europa Conference League Final and Nottingham Forest out of their particular tournament.

Is Big Evangelos now thinking,

‘We should have stayed in the Conference League !’

Forest’s final game is against Bournemouth at the City Ground.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score when Forest hosted United at the City Ground on the 1st of November.

Casemiro scored first to give the visitors a lead at the break.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicola Savona scored for Forest over the space of 2 minutes at the beginning of the 2nd-half (48th and 50th) to put the home team in front.

Amad Diallo then scored the United equaliser with 10 minutes remaining to give both a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.

Sean Dyche was in charge of Nottingham Forest at the time, with Manchester United overseen by Ruben Amorim.

It will be Michael Carrick and Vitor Pereira who are in the relevant dugouts this afternoon.

Betfred offer Manchester United at slight Odds On 3/5, the Draw at 16/5 and 4/1 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 12/5 that Chris Wood Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BRENTFORD v CRYSTAL PALACE

15.00 in England

Sky Sports

Brentford suffered a defeat against Man City at the Etihad on Saturday.

After a goalless 1st-half, City scored 3 times after the break to leave the Bees with a loss from a 3-0 scoreline.

That leaves Keith Andrews’ Boys in 8th place with 51 points from 36 games played.

Eighth place could earn a European spot in one of the competitions depending on how the next two weeks pan out.

Brentford finish this superb season with a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on the final day.

Crystal Palace gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Everton on Sunday.

Ismaila Sarr scored for the Eagles in the 34th minute to equalise an earlier Toffees goal and take both teams in level at the break.

Jean-Philippe Mateta did exactly the same in the 2nd-half, scoring in the 77th minute to again, equalise a 2nd Toffees goal scored just after the restart.

With no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite 2-2 score.

It was then the rearranged game against Man City at the Etihad, where City were much too good and inflicted a defeat on Palace by a 3-0 scoreline.

The Eagles sit in 15th place with the same 44 points as Leeds United both having completed 36 games.

Palace have successfully made the Final of the Europa Conference League and will face Rayo Vallecano on the 27th of May 2026, 3 days after the final Premier League fixture.

Crystal Palace have the opportunity to host the New Premier League Champions with a final fixture against Arsenal at Selhurst Park.

Palace gained the home victory over Brentford at Selhurst Park back in November.

A goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta and an Own Goal credited to Nathan Collins gave Oliver Glasner’s Eagles the win over Keith Andrews’ Bees from a 2-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer Brentford at slight Odds On 8/11, the Draw at 3/1 and 10/3 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 10/3 that Igor Thiago Scores First and 7/5 that Brentford Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

EVERTON v SUNDERLAND

15.00 in England

Sky Sports

Everton gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

James Tarkowski scored the opener after 6 minutes to give the Toffees an early lead.

Palace then scored an equaliser to leave both teams level at the break.

Beto scored a 2nd for Everton just after the restart, however, again, the home team scored an equaliser to give both teams a share of the points.

Although it looks like Everton are doing well at the moment, the draw on Sunday was the 3rd from the last 5 games with the other 2 being losses.

So that’s just 3 points gained from a possible 15 which the Toffee faithful and for that matter, David Moyes, would want more.

Everton sit in 10th place with the same 49 points as Chelsea, both having completed 36 games.

Everton face Tottenham down in London next Sunday in the Game Week-38 finale.

Sunderland played out a goalless draw against Manchester United at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

In truth, the Black Cats were the better team but several saves from the United Goalkeeper saw the game finish in a goalless stalemate.

Sunderland sit in 12th place with the same 48 points as Fulham going into the final 2 games.

Sunderland’s last game of the season is against Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score when Sunderland hosted Everton at the Stadium of Light back in November.

Illiman Ndiaye scored first for the Toffees to give the away team a lead at the break.

Granit Xhaka then scored an equaliser for Sunderland just after the restart and with no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece.

The two teams met again in January for the 3rd-Round of the FA Cup where the score finished in the same 1-1, however, Sunderland progressed from winning the subsequent penalty shootout.

This afternoon’s game could easily finish 1-1 too.

Betfred offer Everton at slight Odds On 4/5, the Draw at 13/5 and 7/2 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/2 that Beto Scores First and slight Odds On 10/11 that there are Over 2.5 Goals.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LEEDS UNITED v BRIGHTON

15.00 in England

Sky Sports

Leeds United continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League by gaining a point from a draw by a 1-1 score, against Tottenham on Monday Night Football.

After conceding a Spurs goal, Ethan Ampadu was kicked in the head by the Spurs goal scorer Mathys Tel, in the penalty area.

The on-field referee Jarred Gillett saw the incident but what is now becoming a common occurrence, did not point to the spot and relied on the dreaded VAR to make the decision to give a penalty.

After the VAR told the referee to review the incident on the pitch-side monitor, Mr Gillett had no option but to award a penalty to Leeds.

As mentioned, this appears to be creeping into the referee’s decision-making, with the Man in the Middle almost scared to give a decision and to then wait for the dreaded to get involved.

This isn’t what VAR is supposed to be about.

VAR is there to ensure that no errors are made, not to referee the game.

The on-field referee should make the call then if VAR think it’s an error, get involved.

Jarred Gillett had a clear view of the incident, looked as if he was about to point to the spot, then thought,

‘No, I’ll wait for my mates at Stockley Park!’

There was an incident in the Scottish Premier League over the weekend, which was a huge decision made by the on-field referee in the Motherwell v Hearts game.

With the game level at 1-1 and Hearts desperate for the victory to edge closer to the SPL Title, the on-field referee Steven McLean denied Hearts a penalty after Alexandros Kyziridis went short to receive a corner and went down under the outstretched leg of Motherwell’s Tawanda Maswanhise in the box.

Steven waved play on but was then advised to go to the pitch-side monitor by VAR to check the incident.

Once this happens, usually the original decision is changed, however, refreshingly, Mr McLean stuck with his original decision of no penalty, denying Hearts the chance to score and go in front.

The Top of the Scottish Pub League, going into the final round on Saturday.

1- Hearts 80 pts, scored 66 and conceded 31 (plus+35)

2- Celtic 79 pts, scored 70 and conceded 40 (plus+30)

3- Rangers 69 pts, scored 71 and conceded 41 (plus+30)

There is 1 game remaining, which includes the Winner Takes All (All being the SPL Title) between Celtic and Hearts on the final day of the season.

The tie between the top two next Saturday is at Celtic Park.

The simple scenario is, if Hearts don’t lose, they will be the SPL Champions.

Celtic have to beat Hearts to win the Title.

Goal difference won’t come into it.

Leeds finish off this campaign with a trip down to the London Stadium to face West Ham, who may just need a win to avoid relegation.

Brighton gained an easy victory over already relegated Wolves at the Amex on Saturday.

Goals from Jack Hinshelwood, Lewis Dunk and Yankuba Minteh gave Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls the home win from a 3-0 scoreline.

Brighton sit in 7th place with 53 points from 36 games played.

Seventh place currently holds a Europa Conference League spot for next season.

Brighton host Manchester United in the final game of this 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Brighton gained an easy home victory when Leeds made the long trip South to the Amex back in November.

Danny Welbeck scored after 11 minutes to give the Seagulls a lead at the break.

It was then the Diego Gomez show, with the Paraguay Striker scoring twice to give Brighton the home win from a 3-0 scoreline.

Diego will be on show in next month’s World Cup, with Paraguay kicking off Group D’s opening game of the tournament on the 13th of June against one of the hosts, the USA.

Betfred offer Leeds United at 21/10, the Draw at 13/5 and 23/20 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 8/5 that Dominic Calvert-Lewin Scores Anytime.

WOLVES v FULHAM

15.00 in England

Sky Sports

Wolves have had enough of the Premier League and let Brighton get the win on Saturday.

The defeat against the Seagulls by a 3-0 score, leaves Wolves at the bottom of the table with 18 points, going into the final 2 games of a dismal campaign.

Wolves’ final game before heading to the Championship is against their fellow relegated rivals Burnley at Turf Moor.

So both can enjoy a relegation party on and off the pitch.

Fulham’s season is petering out like an old campfire with the Cottagers suffering a 2nd defeat in succession, this time against Bournemouth at Craven Cottage from a 1-0 scoreline.

The referee sent off a Bournemouth player after 41 minutes then wanted to equal up the sides for the 2nd-half, by sending off Joachim Andersen in the 7th minute of 1st-half stoppage time, with the score at 0-0.

Bournemouth then scored the solitary winner in the 53rd minute, leaving Fulham with another loss.

The Cottagers sit in 11th place with the same 48 points as Sunderland, both having completed 36 games.

Fulham finish the season with a clash against Newcastle at Craven Cottage.

Fulham gained the home win over Wolves when the two teams met at Craven Cottage for the Game Week-10 affair.

Ryan Sessegnon scored the opener to give Fulham a lead at the break.

Wolves’ Emmanuel Agbadou was shown a straight Red Card in the 36th minute for dragging down Josh King and preventing a goal-scoring opportunity.

The extra man advantage for Fulham paid off in the 2nd-half with Harry Wilson adding a 2nd-goal before Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera was credited with Fulham’s 3rd giving Marco Silva’s Cottagers the win over Vitor Pereira’s Gold and Blacks from a 3-0 scoreline.

Vitor was sacked after the game with Rob Edwards taking over.

It’s strange now that Rob and Wolves are heading for the Championship following relegation and Vitor is staying in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.

Football, it’s a funny old game.

Betfred offer Wolves at 11/4, the Draw at 11/4 and slight Odds On 10/11 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Harry Wilson Scores First and 12/5 that Fulham Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NEWCASTLE v WEST HAM

17.30 in England

Sky Sports

Newcastle gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

Harvey Barnes, did what Harvey Barnes does and came off the bench to score the Newcastle goal in the 74th minute.

The ex-Magpie Elliot Anderson scored an equaliser for Forest in the 88th minute to leave both teams with a point apiece.

That point gained, leaves Newcastle in 13th place with 46 points from 36 games completed.

Newcastle head to London to face Fulham at Craven Cottage in the Game Week-38 finale.

What can be said about West Ham, who could consider themselves very unlucky following the loss against Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The Hammers held out the potential New Premier League Champions for the first 83 minutes, however, succumbed to an Arsenal goal to burst the Bubbles in attendance.

Mateus Fernandes thought he’d scored in the 79th minute but saw his solo effort saved by David Raya.

Trailing by 1 goal to nil, going into the final minutes of the game, Callum Wilson thought he had grabbed an equaliser when his shot was deemed over the line by the on-field referee’s Watch.

The on-field referee being Chris Kavanagh.

Then the fun started (one says fun, not for the Hammers) when the dreaded VAR, who was the Barnsley Boy Darren England, suggested to Chris that there had been a foul on the Arsenal Goalkeeper David Raya.

Whilst the scene resembled a fight from a WWE ( World Wrestling Entertainment) show, with grappling from both sets of players, the final decision was that Pablo had obstructed David Raya before Callum took his shot.

The goal was ultimately disallowed leaving West Ham with a defeat from a 1-0 scoreline.

It also left Pep Guardiola’s cat hastily disappearing from the vicinity of Pep’s right foot.

There has been a lot of conjecture regarding whether the goal should have been given.

Probably, the timing of the situation, in the 95th minute was more of a reason to throw up the conjecture.

Maybe if the incident had happened in the 67th minute, then no one would have argued.

Ultimately, it was a foul on David Raya but there were other fouls from different players, one being Leandro Trossard grappling with Pablo that could be argued, lent to the fact Pablo obstructed David.

Declan Rice was seen to have fouled Konstantinos Mavropanos but again, the ultimate decision to deny the goal was the foul on David Raya.

Fair play to the referee, however, would the same decision have been given if the roles were reversed and it was Arsenal who had scored in the 95th minute?

Following Tottenham’s draw with Leeds, West Ham, who sit in 18th place with 36 points, are now 2 points adrift of Tottenham, both with 2 games left.

The Hammers’ final 2 games are now against teams who had their Premier League safety confirmed following Arsenal’s victory over West Ham on Sunday, so that may have a bearing on the results.

West Ham host Leeds United at the London Stadium in next Sunday’s final fixture.

The Hammers gained the home win when the Magpies visited the London Stadium for the Game Week-10 encounter.

Jacob Murphy scored first to give Newcastle an early lead.

Lucas Paqueta then scored an equaliser for West Ham before the unfortunate Sven Botman was credited with an Own Goal leaving the Hammers in front at the break.

Tomas Soucek sealed the victory with a late goal in the 97th minute to give West Ham the victory over Newcastle from a 3-1 scoreline.

Betfred offer Newcastle at 21/20, the Draw at 3/1 and 21/10 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 6/1 that Harvey Barnes Scores First and 7/5 that Newcastle Score in Both Halves.

ARSENAL v BURNLEY

20.00 in England

Sky Sports

If one were to ask anyone connected with Arsenal-

‘Which 2 teams would you like to face in the final 2 games, to get a victory and seal the first Premier League Title in 22 years?’

The answer would be something like this-

A team that had already been relegated for being rubbish (Burnley) and a team that will be in the Europa Conference League Final, 3 days later (Crystal Palace).

After a tricky game against West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, which saw a single Leandro Trossard goal scored in the 83rd minute, giving the Gunners the victory over the Hammers by a 1-0 scoreline, the title race is virtually over, with Arsenal sitting at the summit with 79 points from 36 games.

As mentioned, the 2 remaining games are against Burnley and Crystal Palace, which should return 6 points, giving Arsenal 85 in total.

Man City have 77 points with 2 games remaining, thus the Math will say that City can only gain a total of 83, leaving Arsenal with their first Premier League Title since the Invincible Season of 2003/04.

There was a controversial moment in the 95th minute against West Ham, who thought they had an equaliser but ultimately had the goal ruled out by the dreaded VAR.

Whilst disappointing for the Hammers (and everyone connected with Man City) it was probably the right decision, it was just the timing of the incident that threw up conjecture.

Arsenal have made the Final of the Champions League, by gaining a 2-legged victory over Atletico Madrid and will face Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on the 30th of May 2026, going into that final as the Premier League Winners.

(Unless the Gunners lose against Burnley and/or Crystal Palace!)

As mentioned Arsenal head to South London next Sunday to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the final game of the season.

Burnley weren’t as rubbish as normal over the weekend, gaining a point from a draw by a 2-2 score, against Aston Villa at Turf Moor on Sunday.

Jaidon Anthony scored to give Burnley an early lead, however, Villa scored just before the interval to take both teams in level at the break.

Villa then scored a 2nd in the 56th minute but like a bad dog walker, couldn’t hold on to the lead, with Zian Flemming quickly getting the equaliser 2 minutes later.

With no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece.

That first point gained by the Clarets in 6 games, leaves Burnley in 19th place with 21 points from 36 games played.

Burnley host Wolves in the final fixture of the season before both teams head to the Championship.

Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice scored the Gunners’ goals in the 1st-half to give Arsenal the win over Burnley from a 2-0 scoreline at Turf Moor back in November 2025.

Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 1/10, the Draw at 17/2 and 20/1 for Burnley to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/2 that Bukayo Saka Scores First and slight Odds On 4/5 that Arsenal Win Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v MAN CITY

19.30 in England

Sky Sports

Bournemouth secured a victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday with a single Rayan goal, scored early in the 2nd-half, giving Andoni Iraola’s Cherries the points from a 1-0 scoreline.

Ryan Christie was shown a straight Red Card in the 43rd minute, which could have potentially seen Fulham with an extra man for the 2nd-half.

However, the referee then sent off a Fulham player just before the half-time whistle to even the sides up.

That was Bournemouth’s 16th unbeaten game in succession, leaving the Cherries in 6th place with 55 points from 36 games played.

(8 wins and 8 draws.)

Imagine the points total if 2-3 of those drawn games were turned into wins.

As one knows, Andoni Iraola is leaving at the end of the season, with the ex-RB Leipzig Boss Marco Rose taking over.

Marco may just see his new team in the Champions League, as 6th place could still offer up a place in the Elite European Competition, depending on how Aston Villa finish the season.

Bournemouth head North to the City Ground for the final game of the campaign to take on Nottingham Forest.

Man City gained a victory over Brentford at the Etihad on Saturday.

After a goalless 1st-half, Jeremy Doku stepped up to the plate and scored another brilliant goal to give City a lead.

Erling Haaland then added a 2nd, scoring his 26th goal of the season before Omar Marmoush added a 3rd late on to give Pep’s High Flying Blues the win over the Bees by a 3-0 scoreline.

That temporarily put City just 2 points adrift of Arsenal at the summit, with Man City sitting in 2nd place with 74 points.

The gap was then extended back to 5 points following Arsenal’s subsequent victory over West Ham on Sunday.

It was then the game in hand against Crystal Palace where Pep Guardiola made a number of changes to the starting lineup including leaving out Erling Haaland, obviously with one eye on the FA Cup Final on Saturday.

City were too good for Palace on the night with goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savinho giving Pep’s High Flying Blues the victory over Oliver’s Army from a 3-0 scoreline.

That once again reduced the gap between Arsenal and City to 2 points going into the final 2 games.

City have this fixture against the Cherries then it’s the final game at the Etihad against Aston Villa.

Even the most ardent of City fans must concede that Arsenal’s remaining 2 fixtures are far easier and should see the Gunners as this season’s Premier League Champions.

Man City got the home win over Bournemouth at the Etihad in the Game Week-10 affair.

Erling Haaland scored twice in the 1st-half to give City a lead at the break

Tyler Adams did score an equaliser for Bournemouth just after Erling’s opener.

Nico O’Reilly added a 3rd on the hour mark to give Pep’s High Flying Blues the victory over Andoni’s Red Cherries from a 3-1 scoreline.

Betfred offer Bournemouth at the Draw at and for Man City to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 3/1 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 8/5 that Eli Junior Kroupi Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CHELSEA v TOTTENHAM

Sky Sports

A much-improved Chelsea team gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

For the first 15-20 minutes or so, Chelsea were just playing the same as in previous weeks, conceding a goal in the 6th minute.

Then the players came to the party and were the better team for much of the remaining period, with Enzo Fernandez scoring an equaliser 10 minutes from the half-time cup of tea.

With no further goals in the 2nd-half, both went home with a point apiece, which stopped Chelsea’s 6-game Premier League losing streak.

Chelsea sit in 9th place with the same 49 points as Everton from 36 games played.

There’s this game against Tottenham then a final fixture against Sunderland next week at the Stadium of Light, to decide where Chelsea finish in the Premier League table this season and whether there will be a need for the Passports.

Come kickoff today, Chelsea will know whether they are FA Cup Winners or have been beaten in the Final by Man City.

If Chelsea win the FA Cup, then they automatically qualify for the Europa League, regardless of where they finish in the Premier League.

However, if they lose against Man City, although City don’t need the Europa League place, it doesn’t automatically go to Chelsea, that spot goes to those who finish in 7th.

Tottenham let slip the chance to go 4 points clear of West Ham, following a draw against Leeds United on Monday Night Football.

Mathys Tel was both the hero and villain in the Tottenham Shirt, firstly scoring the Tottenham goal in the 50th minute, then inexplicably kicking a Leeds player in the head to concede a penalty.

The award of the penalty has been explained in the Leeds United v Brighton preview above.

However, to reiterate, the on-field referee Jarred Gillett, saw the incident clearly, was about to point to the spot but then thought he’d rely on his mates at Stockley Park (the dreaded VAR) to give the decision.

It was a penalty which Leeds converted and with no further goals, both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

There was another contentious issue in the final minutes of the added-on extra when James Maddison appeared to be fouled in the area.

Jarred Gillet didn’t make a decision and again left it to the dreaded VAR, who stated that the Leeds Defender got the ball first, so no penalty was awarded.

To the naked eye, it’s difficult to see a touch from the Defender and a penalty should have been awarded.

James Maddison came on in the 85th minute, for his first appearance in 10 months and showed flashes of inspiration which is what Tottenham have missed and sorely need.

James could easily be on show from the start tonight at Stamford Bridge.

The point gained, as remember, it’s always a point gained following a draw, not 2 points lost, as some people say, leaves Tottenham in 17th place with 38 points, which is 2 more than West Ham who occupy the final relegation spot.

It is now a straight shootout between the two London clubs, as to who stay in the Premier League and who drops down into the Championship.

This Game Week-37 set of fixtures see Tottenham face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and West Ham take on Newcastle at St James Park.

The simple scenario is that both need to win, to take the fight to the final game of the season.

That said, both have tough games.

Can anyone see West Ham winning at St James Park?

Can anyone see Tottenham getting a victory at Stamford Bridge?

It could just be that both lose then it goes down to the final set of fixtures.

Tottenham host Everton in the Game Week-38 Super Sunday Finale with West Ham hosting Leeds United, so at least both are at home.

A single Joao Pedro goal, scored in the 34th minute, gave Chelsea the away-day victory over Tottenham from a 1-0 score when these two met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in November.

Betfred offer Chelsea at 21/20, the Draw at 11/4 and 11/5 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 6/4 that Chelsea Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
