Kevin Blake’s racing background
Kevin Blake has worked in racing his entire adult life. He began in journalism and analysis, including time at Timeform, before transitioning to hands-on roles with trainers. Most notably, he works with Joseph O’Brien as a race planner, guiding campaigns for some of the top horses in Ireland. He’s also a racehorse breeder and helped produce Group-winning horses from his Golden Farm stud.
His broadcasting work is now just as impressive. He’s a key figure on ITV, Sky Sports Racing, and Tote, where his tips and previews reach thousands. In 2019, he was named Specialist Writer of the Year by the Horserace Writers & Photographers Association. He also led Team Ireland to Racing League victory in 2023.
What makes Kevin Blake’s tips unique?
Kevin combines a data-driven mindset with lived racing experience. He studies form deeply, watches replays, and understands race planning from the inside. That lets him spot trends others miss. His selections aim to deliver value, but he’s not afraid to back a favourite when it makes sense.
As a regular Tote contributor, Kevin’s knowledge helps punters build smarter Placepots and Jackpots. He’s also a popular voice on racing podcasts, breaking down big races and highlighting betting angles. Above all, Kevin Blake’s tips are consistent, honest, and grounded in real racing logic. That’s why punters trust him.
