bet365 is one of the biggest online bookmakers in the world, but it can only take bets where it holds a licence or where local law allows it. This guide explains where bet365 operates, where it doesn’t, and how to check for your own country.

  • Visit bet365 from where you live. If bet365 can’t accept customers from your location, the site will tell you, or send you to a local version.
  • Check your national gambling regulator. Most regulators publish a list of licensed operators.
  • Read bet365’s terms. Its terms list restricted countries, and they are the final word on whether you can open an account.

Where bet365 is available (October 2026)

UK and Ireland

bet365 is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and is fully available in Great Britain. In Ireland, bet365 holds an Irish betting licence; Ireland’s new regulator, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, began licensing on 1 July 2026.

Europe

In much of Europe, each country runs its own licensing system, so bet365 often runs a separate local site. Countries where bet365 operates under a local licence include:

  • Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.
  • France: bet365 received a licence from France’s regulator (ANJ) in April 2026 and launched bet365.fr in May 2026. Older guides that say bet365 is unavailable in France are out of date.

bet365 is also regulated in Gibraltar and Malta.

North America

  • United States: sports betting is legal state by state. As of August 2026, bet365 was live in 18 states: Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. It is not available in other states, including some where sports betting is legal, such as New York.
  • Canada: bet365 is licensed in Ontario through iGaming Ontario. Other provinces have their own rules.
  • Mexico: bet365 operated in Mexico through a local permit holder, but that permit was suspended in November 2025 and bet365 was still not operating there in September 2026.

Latin America

  • Brazil: bet365 was approved under Brazil’s new licensing system in 2025.
  • Colombia: bet365 is not on Colombia’s list of licensed operators.

Australia

bet365 runs a separate Australian business, licensed in the Northern Territory.

Where bet365 is not available

bet365 does not accept customers from a long list of countries. Examples include Belgium, Portugal, Turkey, Poland, Switzerland and Russia, as well as US states where it has no licence. In 2025 it also stopped serving a number of Asian markets, including China.

Can I use a VPN to access bet365?

No, and you shouldn’t try. Using a VPN to get round a country restriction breaks bet365’s terms. If bet365 finds out, it can close your account, void your bets and hold your winnings. In some countries it can also break local law. If bet365 isn’t available where you live, use a bookmaker that is licensed in your country.

Travelling abroad with a UK account

If you have a UK bet365 account and travel abroad, you may find you can’t log in or place bets while you are away. This is because bet365 has to follow the rules of the country you are in, not the one where you opened your account. Your balance stays safe, and you can bet again when you are home.
