Game Week-10
Saturday 1st November
BRIGHTON v LEEDS UNITED
15.00 in England
Brighton have had the better of Manchester United in recent years, winning 6 of the last 7 Premier League games, however, the Seagulls came up against a much-improved set of Red Devils on Saturday, succumbing to a defeat at Old Trafford by a 4-2 scoreline.
After 2 goals in the 1st-half then a 3rd on the hour mark, the ex-United Striker Danny Welbeck scored a superb free kick to give the travelling faithful hopes of a comeback.
That hope was improved when Charalampos Kostoulas added a 2nd in the 92nd minute.
Unfortunately for Brighton, United then scored a 4th to put the game to bed, leaving the Seagulls with their 1st loss in 5 Premier League games this term.
That defeat sees Brighton sitting in 13th place with the same 12 points as Newcastle from the opening 9 fixtures played.
Leeds United got the victory over West Ham on Friday Night Football, with the Whites winning by a 2-1 scoreline, as predicted in this EveryTip column last week.
Brenden Aaronson and Joe Roden with the Leeds goals in the 1st-half.
West Ham did score a late consolation, however, time ran out giving Daniel Farke’s men the home win.
Leeds sit in 15th place with the same 11 points as Everton both having completed 9 games so far.
A tip of ‘Brenden Aaronson To Score First’ was also offered up in last week’s EverTip column, with odds of 8/1 so it’s hoped a few had a couple of quid on those to help out with paying for the upcoming Christmas season.
A quick note regarding Christmas, it has been mentioned this week by several media outlets that there could be just 1 Premier League game that takes place on Boxing Day this season, which just happens to be a Friday.
As such, while no final decision has been made, Boxing Day is likely to be treated like any other Friday during the season in that only 1 match is screened.
Games would then take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, allowing it to meet that criteria.
Whilst this would probably outrage some people, John Newsome doesn’t really have a problem as there are plenty of other games in the Championship, League One and Two to watch on Boxing Day.
It was August 2022 when Leeds United last ventured the long way South to face Brighton at the Amex.
Graham Potter’s Seagulls gained the home victory over Jesse Marsch’s Whites by a 1-0 scoreline.
Pascal Gross scored the solitary winning goal in the 2nd-half.
Betfred offer Brighton at Odds On 4/5, the Draw at 13/5 and 16/5 for Leeds United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 2/1 that Brighton Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BURNLEY v ARSENAL
15.00 in England
Burnley stunned Wolves on Sunday, scoring a last-second goal to get the win by a 3-2 scoreline.
Zian Fleming scored twice in the 1st-half to give Scott Parker’s Clarets an early lead.
Wolves then scored twice to equal things up at the break.
With time virtually done, Lyle Foster scored the winner in the 95th minute which was literally the last kick of the game with the referee immediately blowing for full-time after the goal.
That was back-to-back victories for Burnley following last week’s win over Leeds, leaving Scott’s men in 16th place with 10 points from the initial 9 games played.
There is a song that emanates around the Emirates and Highbury the previous home of Arsenal, which goes-
‘One nil to the Arsenal, one nil to the Arsenal!’
Granted, not very inventive but still a great tune for the Gooners.
Arsenal gained the victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday by the iconic 1-0 score, which was the second consecutive win in a row by the same scoreline and the third out of the 9 fixtures played.
‘One-nil to the Arsenal!’
The ex-Eagle Eberechi Eze with the solitary winner.
That’s 7 Premier League wins, added to a draw and a loss, leaving Arsenal at the Top of the Table with 22 points from the opening
9 games.
It’s amazing to think that the team sitting 2nd is Bournemouth, with Sunderland in 4th.
Not many would have predicted that after 9 games.
Arsenal put in a 5 Star performance when the Gunners last visited Turf Moor to face Burnley back in February 2024.
Goals from Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz and a couple from Bukayo Saka gave Mikel Arteta’s Young Guns the victory over Vincent Kompany’s Clarets by a 5-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Burnley at 9/1, the Draw at 4/1 and Odds On 4/7 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Bukayo Saka Scores First and Evens 1/1 that Arsenal Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CRYSTAL PALACE v BRENTFORD
15.00 in England
As just mentioned, Crystal Palace suffered a defeat against Arsenal on Sunday, with the old boy Eberechi Eze scoring the only goal of the game at the Emirates, leaving Palace with a loss by a 1-0 scoreline.
That leaves the Eagles in 10th place with the same 13 points as today’s opponents Brentford from the opening 9 fixtures completed.
Brentford got the what could be considered, the best result of the weekend by inflicting a defeat on Liverpool at the GTech Stadium in Saturday’s late kickoff.
Dango Ouattara scored the opener which was followed up by Kevin Schade adding a 2nd on the stroke of half-time.
That wasn’t the end of the 1st-half goals with Liverpool pulling a goal back before the referee blew his whistle.
Igor Thiago converted a penalty on the hour mark that restored the 2 goal advantage before Liverpool scored a 2nd in the 89th minute.
With no further goals, Keith Andrews’ Bees got the win over Arne Slots Reds by a 3-2 scoreline.
Brentford sit in 11th, a place behind today’s hosts with the same 13 points but a slightly inferior goal difference.
Whoever wins today will finish higher after Game Week-10.
Brentford gained the away-day victory over Crystal Palace in last season’s encounter between these two Londoners.
After a goalless 1st-half, Bryan Mbeumo and Kevin Schade scored for the Bees to give Thomas Frank’s Boys the win over Oliver Glasner’s Eagles by a 2-1 score.
Romain Esse scored for Palace late on to give the Ultras some glimmer of hope, however, time ran out leaving the home team with a defeat.
Betfred offer Crystal Palace at Odds On 10/11, the Draw at 5/2 and 11/4 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and 7/4 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

FULHAM v WOLVES
15.00 in England
Fulham are struggling at the moment, following another defeat on Saturday, this time against Newcastle at St James Park.
After conceding a goal and trailing at the break, Sasa Lukic scored to level things up, however, Newcastle then scored the winner in the 90th minute to inflict another loss on Fulham this time by a 2-1 scoreline.
That is the 4th defeat in a row after a relatively good start to the campaign, leaving Marco Silva’s Cottagers in 17th place with 8 points from the opening 9 games completed.
The run of poor results needs to change otherwise Marco will find himself under pressure.
That said, this fixture against Wolves may just have come at the right time for Fulham, with Vitor Pereira’s Gold and Blacks suffering another defeat on Sunday, which is the 7th loss from the opening 9 games.
Wolves have drawn twice, which leaves them at the bottom of the table with 2 points from the 9 fixtures played.
On Sunday against Burnley, after conceding 2 goals, Jorgen Strand Larsen converted a penalty in the 42nd minute, with Marshall Munetsi equalising on the stroke of half-time.
When it appeared that both teams would share the points, Burnley scored a 3rd in the 95th minute to knock the stuffing out of the home faithful in Molineux and leave Wolves with the loss from a 3-2 score.
As mentioned in previous columns, the hierarchy at Molineux do appear to be behind Vitor Pereira, however, the question is, for how long?
There’s a fine line between backing the Manager and continually seeing one’s team lose.
There must be a cut-off point where the Bosses have to decide whether to stick with VP and face relegation or get rid to try and stave off the inevitable drop.
Gary O’Neil’s Wolves team gained a brilliant victory over Marco Silva’s Fulham in last season’s affair between the two at Craven Cottage.
Goals from Matheus Cunha (2), Joao Gomes and Goncalo Guedes gave Wolves the points from a 4-1 scoreline.
Alex Iwobi had scored first to give Fulham an early lead before Wolves slipped into gear.
Betfred offer Fulham at Odds On 8/11, the Draw at 12/5 and 18/5 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 13/2 that Harry Wilson Scores First and 15/8 that Fulham Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v MANCHESTER UNITED
15.00 in England
Manchester United are one of the form teams at the moment, gaining their 5th Premier League victory from the last 7 games on Saturday, this time against Brighton at Old Trafford by a 4-2 scoreline.
Matheus Cunha and Casemiro scored in the 1st-half to give United a lead at the break.
Bryan Mbeumo then scored a 3rd on the hour mark, however, that wasn’t the end of the goals.
The ex-United Striker Danny Welbeck pulled a goal back midway through the 2nd-half with Brighton then scoring a 2nd in the 92nd minute giving the Red Devils in attendance a nervy final few minutes.
Bryan Mbeumo scored a 4th for United just after Brighton’s 2nd, to put the game to bed and give United the win.
Despite conceding 2 goals, it is clear to see that Manchester United are improving, with the players seemingly becoming more and more confident about the system that Ruben Amorim wants to play.
That said, it does help having the players to play the said system, which the likes of Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and the 3 New Boys, Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo all seem to understand.
United sit in 6th place with the same 16 points as the Noisy Neighbours City, who sit a place above purely on goal difference.
This column has mentioned that Ruben Amorim was on borrowed time and could be sacked once the 12-month anniversary of his appointment was up, however, it now looks likely that Ruben will be there for the foreseeable future.
Nottingham Forest suffered another defeat on Saturday, this time against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The loss by a 2-0 scoreline leaves Forest in 18th place with 5 points from the opening 9 games played.
Whilst Forest are struggling and are now under their 3rd Manager of the season following 6 losses, 2 draws and a win, the defeat against Bournemouth shouldn’t be dwelt upon too much as most are losing against the Cherries who are currently sitting 2nd in the table.
The New Manager Sean Dyche gained an opening game victory over Porto in the Europa League on Thursday, so there is still a lot of hope for the Tricky Tree faithful.
A single goal scored after 5 minutes by the ex-United Striker Anthony Elanga, was enough to give Nuno Espírito Santo’s Forest the home victory over Ruben Amorim’s United in last season’s encounter between the two at the City Ground.
Betfred offer Nottingham Forest at 23/10, the Draw at 5/2 and 21/20 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/1 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 7/4 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

TOTTENHAM v CHELSEA
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
Tottenham are starting to become the ‘Away Men’ after gaining 13 of their 17 points on the road.
After suffering a defeat against Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend, Thomas Frank’s LilyWhites gained a victory over Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.
Micky Van De Ven scored twice in the 1st-half to give Tottenham a lead at the break, before Papa Matar Sarr added a 3rd late on to get the win from a 3-0 scoreline.
Tottenham’s home form is played 4, Won 1, Drew 1 and Lost 2.
Compared to the away results of,
played 5, Won 4 and Drawn 1 leaving them in 3rd place with the same 17 points as Sunderland from the opening 9 games.
That suggests it could be a tricky day for Thomas Frank’s Spurs team once again in front of their home fans.
Chelsea suffered a shock defeat against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge last Saturday.
After Alejandro Garnacho scored to give Chelsea an early lead, Sunderland scored an equaliser to take both teams in level at the break.
Despite Chelsea having the majority of possession (68%-32%), most Shots (16-10) and most Shots On Target (7-4), it was Sunderland that scored a 2nd and ultimately the winner, leaving the Blues with a loss by a 2-1 scoreline.
Chelsea sit in 9th place with 14 points from the opening 9 games completed.
Whilst being as low as 9th, as one can see, there’s only 3 points difference between themselves and Tottenham so a win today would put both teams on 17.
As mentioned, Tottenham do struggle at home, however, Chelsea’s away form is 7 points from 4 games, compared to their home form of 7 points from 5 games, having Won 2, Drawn 1 and Lost 1 away and Won 2 Drawn 1 and Lost 2 at home.
This game at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium between these two Londoners last season produced a 7-goal thriller with Chelsea getting the away day win by a 4-3 scoreline.
The goals going in as follows-
5′ Dominic Solanke (Tottenham 1-0)
11′ Dejan Kulusevski (Tottenham 2-0)
17’Jadon Sancho (Chelsea 2-1)
Half-Time Cous-Cous, Sausage Roll and Bottle of Vimto.
61′ Cole Palmer (Chelsea 2-2)
73′ Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea 2-3)
84′ Cole Palmer (Chelsea 2-4)
90+6′ Son Heung-Min (Tottenham 3-4)
Full-Time Steak, Chips and a Can of Special Brew.
Betfred offer Tottenham at 13/8, the Draw at 12/5 and 6/4 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 10/1 that Enzo Fernandez Scores First and 21/10 that Chelsea Score in Both Halves.

LIVERPOOL v ASTON VILLA
20.00 in
TNT Sports
Last week’s EveryTip column highlighted Liverpool’s defensive problems and the problems with their Full Backs, stating that Arne’s Reds look secure when Andy Robertson is playing, with Ibrahima Konaté and Virgil Van Dijk trusting Andy more.
In the Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on the previous Wednesday, Liverpool got a comfortable victory by a 5-1 scoreline, with Andy Robertson starting instead of Milos Kerkez.
On Saturday against Brentford, Arne dropped/rested Andy and brought back Milos.
It just didn’t work with Liverpool’s defence looking fragile and all over the place, ultimately leading to Liverpool suffering a defeat by a 3-2 scoreline.
Milos actually scored the first goal, suggesting the Left Back is better going forward than defending.
Mo Salah then scored a brilliant goal late on, however, the damage had already been done leaving Arne’s Stuttering Slots with another loss, their 4th Premier League defeat in a row and 5th from the last 6 games including the Champions League defeat against Galatasaray before the win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Mo had been dropped/rested for the game against Frankfurt but was brought back into the starting eleven against the Bees due to Alexander Isak picking up an injury.
It will be interesting to see if Arne starts with Andy Robertson today or keeps Milos Kerkez in the starting lineup.
Liverpool have remarkably dropped down to 7th in the table with the same 15 points as today’s opponents Aston Villa from the opening 9 games.
It is tight between most of the teams so a win here and there can change the league position in a flash, however, Arne needs to turn around the fortunes of the Reds otherwise Brendan Rodgers might just return!
Nooooooooo!
Aston Villa gained the victory over Man City at Villa Park on Sunday.
A single Matty Cash goal gave Unai’s Claret and Blues the win over Pep’s Blues by a 1-0 scoreline.
As mentioned, that leaves Villa with the same 15 points as Liverpool so the winners today will finish Game Week-10 the highest.
Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah got the goals to give Liverpool the home win over Aston Villa by a 2-0 scoreline, in last season’s clash between the two at Anfield.
Betfred offer Liverpool at Odds On 8/15, the Draw at 16/5 and 9/2 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Mo Salah Scores First and 5/2 that Liverpool Win Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

WEST HAM v NEWCASTLE
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
West Ham continued the winless run on Friday, succumbing to a defeat against Leeds United at Elland Rd by a 2-1 scoreline, as predicted in this EveryTip column last week.
The Hammers have lost 5 of their last 6 Premier League games with a draw occurring in the other.
That’s just 1 point from a possible 18, which is simply relegation form.
West Ham sit in 19th place with 4 points from the opening 9 games so far.
The irony being the 3 points of the 4 that West Ham have already gained were against Nottingham Forest who had Nuno Espírito Santo in charge at the time.
Maybe Nuno knew what was going to happen over the next few weeks so he thought,
‘Eye-eye, I’d better gift 3 points to my new team!’
Newcastle have the same 12 points as Brighton and sit in 12th place after 9 games.
Nine of those 12 points have come from games at St James Park, with the latest producing 3 points from a victory over Fulham.
Jacob Murphy scored the opener midway through the 1st-half to give Newcastle a lead at the break.
Fulham did equalise just after the restart and with the game looking like ending in a draw, Bruno Guimaraes popped up with the winner in the 90th minute, giving Eddie Howe’s Magpies the win over Marco Silva’s Cottagers by a 2-1 scoreline.
Newcastle’s record is 3 Wins, 3 Draws and 3 Losses from the 9 games completed, so obviously a mixed bag of results.
There have been 3 Wins and 2 Losses at home, however, the 2 defeats were against Arsenal and Liverpool, so it could be expected.
(Probably on current form, Eddie would like to play that game against Liverpool again!)
The 3 drawn games were all away from St James Park and all by the same 0-0 scoreline, with the other away result being a loss.
That suggests that Newcastle find life on the road pretty tricky, however, today’s game at the London Stadium could produce their first away victory.
Newcastle gained the victory over West Ham when they made the long trip South to the London Stadium last season.
A single Bruno Guimaraes goal gave Eddie Howe’s Magpies the win over Graham Potter’s Hammers by a 1-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer West Ham at 4/1, the Draw at 11/4 and Odds On 8/13 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Nick Woltemade Scores First and 7/4 that Newcastle Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MAN CITY v BOURNEMOUTH
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
After an unbeaten run stretching back to August, with 4 victories and 1 draw over the 5 games in September and October, Man City suffered a defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
A single Villa goal scored in the 19th minute left City with the loss from a 1-0 scoreline.
Man City sit in 5th place with the same 16 points as the Numpty Neighbours United from the opening 9 games played.
Erling Haaland did have a couple of chances against Villa but the usually impeccable goal scorer had an off day.
It happens, now it’s time to move on to this tough game against Bournemouth.
One would not normally consider a fixture against Bournemouth a tough game, with Man City having a pretty good record against the Cherries, however, Bournemouth are a different breed this term.
Man City have won 17 of the last 18 meetings between the two clubs since 2015.
Bournemouth are surprisingly sitting in 2nd place with 18 points from the opening 9 games, 4 points adrift of Arsenal at the summit.
The latest fixture on Saturday produced a victory over Nottingham Forest by a 2-0 scoreline.
Marcus Tavernier and Eli Junior Kroupi with the goals both scored in the 1st-half.
Bournemouth just appear to find these unknown players, with the latest being Eli Junior Kroupi, signed from L’Orient, who is a French Under/21 International and has scored 3 goals for the Cherries in the last 2 games, added to 1 against Leeds United back in September.
The lad also scored a couple of goals for the Under/21s in the recent International Break.
Antoine Semenyo has 6 goals and sits 2nd in the scoring charts behind Erling Haaland, so today’s game should see goals.
Man City gained the home win over Bournemouth in last season’s affair between these two at the Etihad.
Goals from Omar Marmoush, Bernardo Silva and Nico, gave Pep’s High Flying Blues the win over Andoni’s Cherries by a 3-1 scoreline.
Daniel Jebbison scored for Bournemouth in the 96th minute which proved to be just a consolation.
Both teams finished the game with 10 men, after Mateo Kovacic was sent off for City and Lewis Cook was shown a Red Card for Bournemouth.
Betfred offer Man City at Odds On 4/9, the Draw at 10/3 and 5/1 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/4 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 3/1 that Antoine Semenyo Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Monday 03rd
SUNDERLAND v EVERTON
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Sunderland stunned Chelsea on Saturday, with the Black Cats gaining an away-day victory over the Blues at Stamford Bridge by a 2-1 scoreline.
After conceding an early goal, Wilson Isidor scored to level the game at half-time.
When it appeared that the points would be shared when the 90 minutes were up on the clock, Sunderland’s Chemsdine Talbi scored the winner in the 93rd minute to stun the home crowd and for that matter probably stun the travelling faithful in the away end.
Sunderland sit in 4th place (one has not read that incorrectly) Sunderland actually sit in 4th place with the same 17 points as Tottenham both having completed 9 games so far.
If one would have said a few weeks ago that Bournemouth are 2nd and Sunderland are 4th after 9 games, the Men in White Coats would probably be on their way.
Everton suffered their first defeat at the New Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, succumbing to a loss against Tottenham by a 3-0 scoreline.
Probably what will irk David Moyes is the way the first 2 goals were conceded, both coming from Tottenham corners.
There had been a stat that Everton were the only team not to concede from a set piece.
That stats gone!
The 3rd was scored late on when Everton were pushing for a goal.
Without trying to be unkind to Beto, the lad played like a Giraffe on Roller-skates and will probably be replaced by Thierno Barry who came on in the 2nd-half, coming on for Beto and looking a better option.
Everton sit in 14th place with the same 11 points as Leeds United.
It was September 2016 when Sunderland last hosted Everton at the Stadium of Light.
Ronald Koeman was in charge of the Toffees with the current Everton Manager David Moyes overseeing Sunderland.
A 2nd-half hat-trick from Romelu Lukaku in just 11 minutes gave Everton the away-day victory over Sunderland by a 3-0 scoreline.
Everton went on to finish 7th in the table, enabling entry into the qualifying stages of the Europa League while Sunderland finished rock bottom and were relegated to the Championship.
Betfred offer Sunderland at 9/5, the Draw at 2/1 and 8/5 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Wilson Isidor Scores First and 11/5 that Thierno Barry Scores Anytime.
