Game Week-12

Saturday 22nd

BURNLEY v CHELSEA

12.30 in England

TNT Sports

Burnley suffered a defeat last time out, which was the second loss in a row, this time against West Ham at the London Stadium.

Zian Flemming scored the opener in the 35th minute with Josh Cullen scoring Burnley’s 2nd goal in the 97th minute.

Unfortunately for the travelling Clarets in attendance down in London, West Ham scored 3 goals in between to inflict the defeat on Burnley by a 3-2 scoreline.

Burnley sit in 17th place with the same 10 points as West Ham but sit a place above and more importantly, out of the relegation zone purely due to goal difference.

Burnley have scored 14 and conceded 22 (minus-8) with West Ham scoring 13 and conceding 23 (minus-10).

Chelsea come into this game off the back of a victory against Wolves at Molineux last time out.

After a goalless 1st-half, 2nd-half goals from Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto gave Enzo Maresca’s Blues the win over the Gold and Blacks by a 3-0 scoreline.

Chelsea move up to 3rd in the table with 20 points from the opening 11 games, which is 2 points adrift of Man City and 6 behind Arsenal at the summit.

It was October 2023 when Burnley last hosted Chelsea at Turf Moor.

Unfortunately for the home faithful in attendance, their Claret Idols suffered a defeat by a 4-1 scoreline.

Wilson Odobert scored the first goal to give Burnley an early lead.

Burnley’s Ameen Al Dakhil scored the second, however, Ameen’s goal was an Own Goal to level things up before the half-time cup of tea.

Chelsea came out stronger in the 2nd-half, scoring 3 goals from Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson giving Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues the victory over Vincent Kompany’s Clarets.

Betfred offer Burnley at 5/1, the Draw at 3/1 and Odds On 4/9 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/1 that Pedro Neto Scores First and 5/4 that Chelsea Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v WEST HAM

15.00 in England

Last season, Bournemouth suffered back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa (1-0) and Man City (3-1) over a 10-day period in May.

By coincidence, the fixture compilers threw up Man City and Aston Villa in succession this season but in reverse order over a 7-day period, which saw Bournemouth suffer back-to-back defeats against Man City by the same 3-1 score as in May and then a loss against Aston Villa last week but this time by a 4-0 scoreline.

Antoine Semenyo missed a penalty when the score was 2-0 to Villa.

The only slight difference between the two games this time was that the fixture against Villa in May was at the Vitality whereas the Cherries suffered the latest defeat at Villa Park.

Bournemouth slip from 5th to 9th having the same 18 points as Liverpool, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Tottenham but sit lowest of those teams on goal difference.

Alex Scott was called into the England Squad for the games against Serbia and Albania.

After missing out on the squad against Serbia, the Young Cherry Midfielder was named as a substitute in the game against Albania.

Although Alex didn’t get on the pitch, it was an invaluable experience of being part of the Three Lions for the past week or so, which can only enhance the lad’s career.

West Ham gained a narrow victory over Burnley at the London Stadium before the International Break.

After conceding a Burnley goal, Callum Wilson scored to equalise and take both teams in level at the break.

Tomas Soucek and Kyle Walker-Peters scored to make it 3-1 before Burnley added a 2nd in the 97th minute to make it a nervy ending for the Bubbles in attendance.

That was Tomas’s 2nd goal in succession.

It’s worth noting that Tomas and Kyle were substitutes and both were introduced by Nuno in the 2nd-half.

After 5 defeats from 6 games, the other being a draw, that’s now 2 victories in a row for the Hammers, who remain in the relegation zone in 18th place with 10 points from the opening 11 fixtures played.

However, now with the same 10 points as Burnley who sit above with a slightly superior goal difference.

Has Nuno Espírito Santo turned the fortunes of West Ham around?

Only time will tell!

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score when West Ham visited the Vitality to take on Bournemouth last season.

After a goalless 86 minutes, Lucas Paqueta scored to give the Hammers a lead.

Unfortunately for the away team, Enes Unal scored an equaliser 4 minutes later to give both teams a point apiece.

Betfred offer Bournemouth at Odds On 8/13, the Draw at 11/4 and 18/5 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 4/1 that Antoine Semenyo Scores First and 17/2 that Jarrod Bowen Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BRIGHTON v BRENTFORD

15.00 in England

Brighton gained a point from a draw by a 0-0 score when the Seagulls took on the Eagles at Selhurst Park before the International Break.

Although a Brighton victory was predicted in this EveryTip column, that was more to do with Palace’s exploits in the Europa Conference League on the previous Thursday.

The draw is the popular result in games between Crystal Palace and Brighton.

Brighton sit in 11th place with the same 16 points as Brentford and a place and a point behind Crystal Palace following Game Week-11.

Brentford gained a brilliant result against Newcastle at the GTech Stadium last Sunday.

After Newcastle had scored in the 27th minute to lead at the break, 2nd-half goals from Kevin Schade and a couple from Igor Thiago, 1 being a converted penalty, Keith Andrews’ Bees got the victory over Eddie Howe’s Magpies by a 3-1 scoreline.

Brentford sit a place below today’s hosts with the same 16 points but a slightly inferior goal difference.

Brighton- scored 17 and conceded 15= plus+2

Brentford- scored 17 and conceded 17= plus/minus +-0

The scorer wasn’t needed in last season’s affair between these two at the Amex, with both teams sharing the points from a draw by a 0-0 score.

Betfred offer Brighton at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 5/2 and 5/2 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 13/8 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

FULHAM v SUNDERLAND

15.00 in England

Fulham come back after the International Break sitting in 15th place with the same 11 points as Leeds United following another defeat last time out, this time against Marco Silva’s ex-club Everton.

The Toffees gained the home victory over the Cottagers by a 2-0 scoreline.

That’s 5 defeats from the last 6 Premier League games with the other being a win over Wolves who everyone beats.

So just 3 points from a possible 18.

The poor run of form has prompted the hierarchy at Craven Cottage to rethink Marco’s position at the club but at the moment, the Silva One is still in charge.

This home fixture against Sunderland could just decide Marco’s future.

The strange thing about that is, if Fulham decide to sack Marco Silva, Leeds United would probably snap him up straight away.

Football, it’s a funny old game.

Sunderland stunned Arsenal at the Stadium of Light last weekend gaining a point from a draw by a 2-2 score.

The Archbishop was happy.

Dan Ballard scored a brilliant goal to give Sunderland a lead at the break.

Arsenal then took control in the 2nd-half scoring twice to take a lead.

With time virtually up on the clock and seemingly a defeat on the cards, Brian Brobbey popped up with the equaliser for Sunderland in the 94th minute to grab a draw from the jaws of defeat.

That leaves the Black Cats in 4th place with 19 points from the opening 11 games completed.

That’s also 4 games unbeaten for Sunderland since the defeat against Manchester United, with the loss against United being only 1 of 2 defeats from the 11 games, with 5 Wins and 4 Draws out of the other 9.

Whilst Sunderland are doing extremely well so far this season, the problem may come in December with 7 of the Black Cat players off to the African Cup of Nations, the most players from one team heading to Morocco, so it’s whether Regis Le Bris can bring in others to keep up the good work.

It was April 2018 when Sunderland last ventured the long distance South to face Fulham at Craven Cottage in a league encounter.

That was a Championship affair which saw Fulham gain the home victory over Sunderland by a 2-1 scoreline.

Joel Asoro scored the opener after 28 minutes to give Sunderland a lead.

Lucas Piazon equalised for Fulham on the stroke of half-time to take both teams in level at the break.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored what turned out to be the winner in the 76th minute to give Slavisa Jokanovic’s Cottagers the win over the ex-Fulham Boss Chris Coleman’s Black Cats.

Fulham were promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season via the playoffs with Sunderland finishing rock bottom of the Championship and relegated to League One.

Betfred offer Fulham at 21/20, the Draw at 21/10 and 12/5 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 8/1 that Harry Wilson Scores First and 14/1 that Nordi Mukiele Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LIVERPOOL v NOTTINGHAM FOREST

15.00 in England

Liverpool were outplayed by Man City at the Etihad last time out, suffering an away defeat by a 3-0 scoreline.

Erling Haaland also missed a penalty so the score could have been worse.

Liverpool thought they had equalised when Virgil Van Dijk headed home, however, Andy Robertson was in an offside position so the linesman flagged.

A lot thought it was the dreaded VAR that had disallowed the goal, however, it was initially ruled offside by the on-field linesman, with the Stockley Park brigade just getting involved to confirm the decision.

There’s been all sorts of conjecture regarding that decision since the game finished, with Liverpool even writing a strongly worded letter to the PGMOL, who are in charge of the referees but in truth, whatever the letter says, it’s firstly, not going to change the outcome and secondly, Man City were the dominant team and would have won anyway.

Added to that, Andy Robertson was offside, simple as that, one can’t change the rules just because it doesn’t suit a team.

A few weeks ago when Liverpool had won 5 from 5, most were giving the Premier League Title to Arne’s New Slots, however, Liverpool have only won 1 game since and have suffered defeats in the other 5.

The anomaly from those 11 results is that there aren’t any draws, with 6 Wins and 5 Losses, leaving Liverpool in 8th place amongst a cluster of teams who all have 18 points.

Bournemouth, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Tottenham being the others.

Nottingham Forest gained their first Premier League win under Sean Dyche last time out, inflicting a defeat on Leeds United by a 3-1 scoreline.

After Leeds had scored the opener, Ibrahim Sangare equalised within a minute to take both teams in level at the break.

Morgan Gibbs-White scored a 2nd for Forest midway through the 2nd-half, which was added to in the 91st minute when the new Three Lions Superstar Elliot Anderson converted a late penalty to seal the win.

One says Three Lions Superstar as Elliot is currently one of the first names on Thomas Tuchel’s team sheet and looks a certainty for inclusion in the Squad for the World Cup next year.

That would also mean that this might be the last season at the City Ground as the lad who has only just turned 23 years old, will be in demand.

Remember, Elliot was sold on from Newcastle, to satisfy PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules), which was heavily influenced by Newcastle’s need to comply with PSR.

Mr Anderson went to Nottingham Forest for around £35 Million, a move that generated ‘pure profit’ for Newcastle but was a difficult decision for the club.

The transfer has proven to be beneficial for Elliot’s career, with him becoming a key player for Nottingham Forest and now England.

Newcastle want to buy EA back but it’s more than likely that the Big Boys will come calling, meaning the Magpies will miss out.

The Big Boys being any one of Liverpool, Man City, Manchester United, Chelsea or the European Clubs such as Real Madrid or Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.

It would be nice for Elliot Anderson to sign for one of these clubs after helping England win the World Cup, however, although Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions will be there or thereabouts in the USA, Canada and Mexico, the weather conditions won’t suit the English and will be more favourable to the South Americans (Brazil and Argentina) or the hotter Europeans which basically just means Spain.

Nottingham Forest remain in the relegation zone, sitting in 19th with 9 points from the opening 11 games played.

Nottingham Forest stunned Liverpool at Anfield last season, gaining a victory by a 1-0 score, with Callum Hudson-Odoi getting the solitary winning goal in the 72nd minute.

That was Forest’s first win over Liverpool at Anfield in 55 years.

Betfred offer Liverpool at Odds On 2/5, the Draw at 10/3 and 11/2 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/2 that Mo Salah Scores First and 7/5 that Liverpool Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WOLVES v CRYSTAL PALACE

15.00 in England

Wolves have used the International Break to find a Manager and have appointed the ex-Luton and now ex-Middlesbrough Boss Rob Edwards.

Rob had a few games wearing the beautiful Barnsley FC jersey back in the day so John Newsome isn’t going to be too harsh on the lad.

However, there are a few sentences to give regarding Rob’s appointment as Wolves Manager.

Firstly, although Mr Edwards got Luton promoted to the Premier League in the 2022/23 Championship season, The Hatters, as Luton Town are affectionately known, only lasted 1 season (2023/24) in the Promised Land and were relegated.

Not only that, Luton were then immediately relegated to League One in the 2024/25 campaign.

Rob Edwards was responsible for the first 26 games of that relegation season, before being sacked.

Rob was then appointed Manager of Middlesbrough for the start of the 2025/26 Championship season and in truth was doing quite well with his New Club ‘Boro who currently sit 2nd in the Championship after 15 games.

Wolves sit rock bottom of the Premier League with 2 points from the opening 11 games following another defeat last week, this time against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by a 3-0 scoreline.

That begs the question, why would a person who is flying high with one team and could quite easily gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, jump ship and go to a team that are struggling and sitting at the bottom of the table with just 2 points from 11 games and no signs of any improvement?

Probably the answer is money (and ego!)

Rob must be getting a fortune in wages at Wolves, a lot more than at Middlesbrough.

That’s the only logical explanation as one would like to predict now that Wolves will be relegated.

There is usually a phenomenon that occurs when a new boss comes in called the ‘New Manager Bounce’ which basically means the players who were rubbish under the Old Manager (Vitor Pereira) now want to prove a point to the New Manager (Rob Edwards) and start to play brilliantly.

However, that phenomenon only occurs if said players are brilliant in the first place, which in Wolves’ situation, isn’t the case.

There is an old saying,

‘You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear!’

Which basically means, the Wolves players are simply not good enough and are in the position (bottom) under merit, not because Vitor Pereira couldn’t get the best out of them.

Good luck with that purse Big Rob!

Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw against Brighton at Selhurst Park last time out.

Both teams at either end of the M23 failed to find the net giving both a point from a draw by a 0-0 score.

Palace sit in 10th place with 17 points from the opening 11 fixtures completed.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score, when Crystal Palace visited Molineux to face Wolves last season.

After a goalless 1st-half, Trevoh Chalobah scored for Palace on the hour mark, which was quickly equalised by Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Joao Gomes then scored to give Wolves a lead before Marc Guehi equalised for Palace, with all 4-goals coming in the space of 17 minutes.

Betfred offer Wolves at 13/5, the Draw at 11/5 and slight Odds On 19/20 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 10/3 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and 11/5 that Crystal Palace Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NEWCASTLE v MAN CITY

17.30 in England

Sky Sports

Newcastle’s dismal results in London continued last time out, with the Magpies being stung by the Bees at the GTech Stadium, suffering a defeat against Brentford by a 3-1 away day score.

Harvey Barnes scored first for Newcastle to give Eddie Howe’s team a lead at the break.

That was that for the away team who conceded 3 goals in the 2nd-half to ultimately suffer the loss by the same scoreline as the previous game against West Ham at the London Stadium.

Dan Burn picked up 2 Yellow Cards and the subsequent Red in the 73rd minute when the score was 1-1.

When looking at the timing of the action throughout the game, it states that Dan was sent off in the 73rd minute, then Brentford scored their 2nd in the 78th minute, which appears to suggest that Newcastle conceded a goal, 5 minutes after Dan was sent off.

Although that was correct, there wasn’t any actual action between Dan Burn’s Red Card and the goal, it literally took 5 minutes to decide whether it was a penalty with the dreaded VAR getting involved.

Added to that, Nick Pope somehow picked up an injury in those inactive 5 minutes and was replaced by Mr Unlucky him being Aaron Ramsdale, who’s first job was to try and save a penalty.

Unfortunately for the travelling Toon Army in attendance, Aaron couldn’t save the spot kick.

Double-A-Ron then conceded a 3rd goal in the 95th minute to gift Brentford the victory.

As mentioned that’s back-to-back Premier League defeats for Newcastle by the same 3-1 London away day scoreline.

However, in between those 2 games, Newcastle gained a victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League.

Newcastle sit in 14th place with 12 points from the opening 11 games played.

Man City sit 2nd in the Premier League with 22 points from the 11 fixtures completed.

Due to Arsenal only managing a draw against Sunderland, it means Pep’s High Flying Blues are just 4 points adrift of Mikel’s Young Guns going into this busy period up to the end of the year.

Man City gained a brilliant victory over Liverpool at the Etihad before the International Break, with goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku giving City the points from a 3-0 scoreline.

Erling had a penalty saved before his opening goal.

As mentioned in the Liverpool v Nottingham Forest preview, there was a controversial decision just after Erling scored when Liverpool had an equalising goal ruled out because Andy Robertson was standing offside.

The decision can be argued all day but Andy was standing offside in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma so the goal was rightly ruled out.

Man City also gained a victory in the Champions League-League Phase and have won 5 of the last 6 Premier League games as well as victories in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, so all in all, Man City are nicely positioned to make a challenge for the Premier League as well as the other competitions.

A quick note regarding Nico O’Reilly.

Nico played at Left-Back in both of the recent England games, playing the full 90 minutes against Serbia and Albania.

That was on top of 90 minutes against Liverpool, 86 minutes against Borussia Dortmund (taken off after receiving a Yellow Card) and 90 minutes against Bournemouth, over a 2-week period.

The lad is only 20 but should have cemented his place in the England Squad for the World Cup adventure next year, providing Nico doesn’t pick up an injury, as both Pep Guardiola and Thomas Tuchel rate the Youngster.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score when Newcastle hosted Man City last season.

Josko Gvardiol scored for City in the 39th minute to give the away team a lead at the break.

Newcastle were then awarded a penalty just before the hour mark which Anthony Gordon converted and with no further goals, both teams gained a point apiece.

Betfred offer Newcastle at 12/5, the Draw at 12/5 and slight Odds On 19/20 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/2 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 13/8 that Man City Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 23rd

LEEDS UNITED v ASTON VILLA

14.00 in England

Sky Sports

‘Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again, Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again!’

That ditty never gets old and to those who like to see Leeds lose (most of the Yorkshire area, a few of the Lancashire clubs and a lot of the remaining parts of England) it’s just funny listening out for the result of the Leeds games over the weekend.

At one point, a lot of folk thought Leeds United had changed their name to ‘Leeds Lost Again!’

Leeds lost again last time out, this time against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Despite Lukas Nmecha scoring a rare goal to give Leeds a lead in the 13th minute, Forest scored an equaliser within a minute of the opening goal to leave the teams level at the half-time interval.

It was then Forest that took control in the 2nd-half, scoring 2 more goals to inflict the defeat on Leeds by a 3-1 scoreline.

The problem Leeds have at the moment is scoring goals, having just 10 so far this season.

There are only Wolves who are just rubbish and sit at the bottom of the table that have scored less (7) so far.

Forest’s 3 against Leeds, gave them 10 also.

Leeds need to start scoring goals or the relegation zone beckons.

Daniel Farke is still in charge for the time being but there has been talk of Brendan Rodgers coming in at Elland Rd.

No doubt Daniel is a good Manager, however, it appears that the Germans limit is the Championship.

Mr Farke got Norwich promoted twice from the Championship to the Premier League but the Canaries were relegated in both campaigns, with Daniel sacked by the club in November of the 2nd term in the Promised Land.

Leeds currently sit in 16th place with the same 11 points as Fulham and just 1 point above the relegation zone.

Like most other clubs, relegation isn’t an option, so if Leeds United don’t improve over the next few weeks, Daniel Farke will be putting the Leeds Job Centre into his Google Maps.

What’s German for,

‘Can one help me with this Job Seekers Allowance form please!’

(Kann mir bitte jemand bei diesem Antrag auf Arbeitslosengeld helfen!)

Aston Villa have improved over the past few weeks after a disappointing start to the campaign.

When it looked like it would be a tricky game against Bournemouth, Villa gained an easy victory over the Cherries at Villa Park by a 4-0 scoreline.

Emiliano Buendia and Amadou Onana scored the 1st-half goals to make the half-time pie an enjoyable one for the Villains in attendance.

Ross Barkley and Donyell Malen added 3 and 4 after the break to give Unai Emery’s team the win over Andoni Iraola’s men.

Emiliano Martinez saved a Bournemouth penalty when the score was 2-0.

Villa also gained a victory in the Europa League-League Phase to remain on course to qualify for the latter stages of that particular tournament.

Aston Villa sit in 6th place with the same 18 points as Bournemouth, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham.

It was October 2022 when Leeds United last hosted Aston Villa at Elland Rd in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, there were no goals scored, leaving both teams with a point from a draw by a 0-0 score.

One suggests there will be goals today.

Betfred offer Leeds United at 2/1, the Draw at 2/1 and 13/10 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 15/2 that Morgan Rogers Scores First and 11/4 that Aston Villa Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ARSENAL v TOTTENHAM

16.30 in England

Sky Sports

The North London Derby.

Arsenal were stunned by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last time out.

The home team scored first to take a lead at the break which prompted Mikel Arteta to get into his boys in the dressing room who then came out quicker and stronger in the 2nd-half.

To be fair to the Gunners, they were the better team after the interval with Bukaya Saka and Leandro Trossard scoring to give Arsenal the lead going into injury time.

Unfortunately for the Gooners in attendance, Sunderland scored a very late equaliser in the 94th minute to give both teams a share of the points from a draw by a 2-2 score.

Arsenal remain at the summit of the Premier League with 26 points from 11 games, however, with Man City subsequently gaining a victory over Liverpool, the gap between the two has been reduced to 4 points.

All to play for.

Arsenal’s Big Defender Gabriel played for Brazil in the International Break, in a friendly fixture against Senegal that conveniently took place at the Emirates.

However, the Big Centre-Back picked up an injury and was forced off in the 64th minute so it is touch and go whether Gabriel will be available today.

That said, Arsenal do have cover in all positions so should still be too strong for their North London neighbours.

Tottenham come back from the break sitting in 5th place with the same 18 points as Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Bournemouth following a draw against Manchester United last time out.

United scored first to take a lead at the interval.

Mathys Tel and Richarlison scored for Tottenham in the 84th and 91st minutes respectively and due to Richarlison’s late strike, it was assumed Tottenham would get the win.

Unfortunately for the LilyWhites in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, United scored a very late equaliser to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat, giving both teams a share of the points from a 2-2 scoreline.

Tottenham have struggled in front of their home fans so a win would have gone a long way in giving them confidence, however, the late equaliser will still put doubts in the minds of everyone connected with the club when Thomas’s Spurs play at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Arsenal gained the victory in last season’s encounter against Tottenham at the Emirates.

Son Heung-Min scored the opener on the half-hour mark to give Tottenham a lead, before Arsenal equalised 15 minutes later through a goal credited as a Dominic Solanke OG.

Leandro Trossard then scored a 2nd for Arsenal just before the half-time break.

With no further goals in the 2nd-half, Arsenal gained the North London Bragging Rights with a win by a 2-1 scoreline.

Tottenham have only won once at the Emirates in the Premier League, with a victory by a 3-2 scoreline back in November 2010.

Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 4/11, the Draw at 10/3 and 13/2 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/2 that Bukayo Saka Scores First and 7/4 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Monday 24th

MANCHESTER UNITED v EVERTON

20.00 in England

Sky Sports

As just mentioned in the Arsenal v Tottenham preview, Manchester United gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Tottenham at their New Stadium before the International Break.

Bryan Mbeumo scored the opener to give United a lead at the break.

When it appeared a victory was close, Tottenham scored twice in the 84th and 91st minutes respectively to leave United on the brink of defeat.

Luckily for the travelling Red Devils, who had made the short journey across London (only joking United fans, just a bit of fun) Matthijs De Ligt scored a very late equaliser to gain a draw.

A lot of people have always thought that the majority of Manchester United fans don’t reside in the Greater Manchester area and live in London, hence the very lame attempt at a bit of fun.

That’s obviously not the case but why let the truth get in the way of a good story?

The point gained against Tottenham, gives both teams 18 for the season so far, with Aston Villa, Liverpool and Bournemouth also having 18 points from the 11 games completed.

United sit in 7th place.

In the recent International Break, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo was shown a Red Card in the game against the Republic of Ireland which the Republic won.

Bruno Fernandes was suspended for that game.

In the next game against Armenia,
Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick.

Granted, Armenia are not the best and Portugal got the victory by a 9-1 score.

However, the significant factor with CR7 unable to play was that Bruno scored a hat-trick and his first goals for Portugal since November 2024.

Does that mean Cristiano inhibits Bruno when playing for Portugal?

Or for that matter, the rest of the Portuguese players.

Everton, who don’t really have a prolific goal scorer, did get a victory over Fulham by a 2-0 scoreline at the Hill Dickinson Stadium before the International Break.

Despite not having a Striker who scores goals, as Beto and Thierno Barry are both struggling to find the back of the net, the rest of the Toffee players chipped in to gain the win.

Against Fulham, it was Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane who got the Everton goals.

David Moyes needs to address that situation as Everton are a good team but will come up short if the Defence and Midfield don’t get on the scoresheet.

Everton sit in 13th place with 15 points from the opening 11 games.

If one looks at the goals scored by the Toffees, there are only 12 which is the lowest of all the Top 13 teams.

Burnley, who sit in 17th place have scored 14 goals but their problem is conceding, hence the position of each team.

If Everton get a Striker in who can put the ball in the back of the net, David Moyes’ Boys will climb the table.

Manchester United gained an easy home victory over Everton in last season’s encounter between the two at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee scored in the 1st-half, to give United a lead at the break.

The same duo scored again in the 2nd-half, giving Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils the win over Sean Dyche’s Clarets by a 4-0 scoreline.

Betfred offer Manchester United at slight Odds On 4/6, the Draw at 13/5 and 7/2 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 15/8 that Manchester United Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
