Game Week-11
Saturday 08th
TOTTENHAM v MANCHESTER UNITED
12.30 in England
TNT Sports
Tottenham appear to have a problem when playing in front of their home fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Following a brilliant victory against Everton on the road last week, Thomas Frank’s Spurs were back at the Swanky Stadium but suffered a defeat against Chelsea by a 1-0 scoreline.
That means there have been 3 defeats at home from the 5 games played, with a win and a draw coming in the other 2.
It could suggest a Manchester United victory today.
Tottenham sit in 6th place with the same 17 points as Chelsea and today’s visitors Manchester United.
Tottenham will have played against FC Copenhagen on Tuesday in the Champions League-League Phase, so the midweek fixture could have a bearing on this early Saturday Afternoon kickoff.
Manchester United are now unbeaten in their last 4 games following a draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.
Casemiro scored the opener in the 34th minute to give United a lead at the break.
Forest came out stronger in the 2nd-half, scoring twice, within 5 minutes of the restart.
Amad Diallo then scored the equaliser in the 81st minute and with no further goals, both teams shared the points.
United sit in 8th place with the same 17 points as Tottenham and Chelsea, so a win today will see Ruben’s Red Devils jump above Thomas’s LilyWhites.
Remember, United are not in any European competition so they will have a full week to concentrate on this early Saturday Afternoon fixture.
Tottenham gained a narrow victory over Manchester United by a 1-0 scoreline when United visited the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season.
James Maddison scored the solitary winning goal in the 1st-half.
James is still recovering from a knee injury but is hoping to be back before the end of the season.
All the best JM.
If one remembers, Tottenham won the Europa League back in May, with a victory by the same 1-0 scoreline over Manchester United.
‘I always win a Trophy in the second season!’
Big Ange Postecoglou is on for the Job Seekers Allowance Trophy next year!
Betfred offer Tottenham at 7/4, the Draw at 12/5 and 6/4 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/1 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 18/5 that Manchester United Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

EVERTON v FULHAM
15.00 in England
Everton put in a strange performance against Sunderland on Monday Night Football, eventually coming away with a point from a draw by a 1-1 score.
One says ‘strange’ as the Toffees started well, with Illiman Ndiaye scoring a great goal after 15 minutes.
However, instead of pushing on for a 2nd goal, it was Sunderland who were the dominant team for most of the 1st-half.
The Black Cats scored an equaliser just after the restart and with no further goals, both teams shared the points.
That leaves Everton in 14th place with the same 12 points as Newcastle from the opening 10 games played.
Fulham got back to winning ways on Saturday after 4 Premier League defeats in a row.
Goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Harry Wilson and one credited to a Wolves player gave the Cottagers the victory over the Gold and Blacks by a 3-0 scoreline.
Granted the victory was against the worst team in the Premier League, however, a win is a win leaving Fulham in 15th place with the same 11 points as Leeds, both having completed 10 games so far.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score when Fulham visited Goodison Park last season.
After a goalless 1st-half, the ex-Toffee Alex Iwobi scored on the hour mark to give Fulham a lead.
Everton left it late to gain a point, with Beto scoring in the 94th minute to give both teams a share of the spoils.
Although Fulham are away and up in Merseyside, remember, it’s not at Goodison Park anymore, with this fixture being played at the New Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Betfred offer Everton at 23/20, the Draw at 21/10 and 12/5 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 9/1 that Harry Wilson Scores First and 6/5 that there are Over 2.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WEST HAM v BURNLEY
15.00 in England
The New Look West Ham gained a brilliant home victory over Newcastle at the London Stadium on Sunday.
When Newcastle scored after 4 minutes, it looked like it was going to be a long afternoon for the Hammers.
That was until Lucas Paqueta scored a great goal to make the game level and ease the nerves of the Bubbles in attendance.
The Newcastle Defender Sven Botman was then credited with an Own Goal (OG) to give West Ham a lead at the break.
Tomas Soucek cemented the win, scoring a 3rd Hammers goal in the 97th minute to give West Ham the points from a 3-1 scoreline.
The Bubbles Faithful applauded the players after the game but then carried on their protest against the owners, which appears to be an ongoing situation that doesn’t seem to be finishing anytime soon.
West Ham remain in the relegation zone sitting in 18th place with 7 points from 10 games played.
Burnley sit just above West Ham with 10 points so a victory today for either side could leave the other in the relegation places.
One says ‘could’ as Burnley have a minus-7 goal difference, whereas West Ham’s is minus-11, so if the Burnley Clarets avoid conceding 4 goals, a victory for the West Ham Clarets would still leave the Hammers in the relegation zone.
Burnley did suffer a defeat on Saturday, however, the opponents were Arsenal so that one was probably expected.
The loss against the Gunners by a 2-0 scoreline, as already mentioned, leaves Burnley in 17th place with 10 points
It was March 2024, when Burnley last ventured South to face West Ham at the London Stadium.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score.
David Datro Fofana scored the opener for Burnley along with a goal credited to Konstantinos Mavropanos giving the away team a healthy lead at the break.
Lucas Paqueta pulled a goal back just after the restart, however, the Hammers left it very late to gain the draw with the ex-Claret Danny Ings scoring the equaliser in the 91st minute to give David Moyes and Vincent Kompany both a point apiece.
Betfred offer West Ham at Evens 1/1, the Draw at 23/10 and 13/5 for Burnley to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Jarrod Bowen Scores First and 15/8 that West Ham Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

SUNDERLAND v ARSENAL
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
The Granit Xhaka Derby.
Sunderland gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Everton at the Stadium of Light on Monday.
After conceding a Toffee goal and trailing at the break, Granit Xhaka scored an equaliser just after the restart and with no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece.
Sunderland sit in 4th place with the same 18 points as Bournemouth and Liverpool after completing the initial 10 fixtures.
Granit should be up for this one!
Arsenal remain at the summit of the Premier League with 25 points following another victory on Saturday, this time against Burnley at Turf Moor by a 2-0 scoreline.
Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice with the Gunners’ goals.
Probably the only surprise in the result was that both goals came in the opening 35 minutes, with Arsenal failing to add to the scoreline in the remaining 55.
That’s now 9 victories in a row in all competitions, with 8 Premier League wins in total.
Only Liverpool and Man City have taken points from Arsenal so far this season, with a defeat at Anfield and a draw against City at the Emirates.
Arsenal travel to the Czech Republic on Tuesday to face Slavia Prague in Match Day-4 of the Champions League-League Phase.
The Gunners are 3 wins from 3 in that particular competition, so everything is rosy at the moment for Mikel’s Young Guns.
Mikel Arteta has assembled a great squad which appears to have a World Class player for every position.
It was October 2016, just over 9 years ago to the day when Arsenal, under the leadership of Arsene Wenger last visited the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland who had David Moyes at the helm.
Two goals apiece from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud gave the Gunners the away-day win by a 4-1 scoreline.
Jermain Defoe scored the Black Cats’ consolation goal from the penalty spot to equalise Alexis’ opener.
Betfred offer Sunderland at 15/2, the Draw at 10/3 and Odds On 4/11 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/2 that Leandro Trossard Scores First and Evens 1/1 that Arsenal Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CHELSEA v WOLVES
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Chelsea gained a narrow away victory over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
Joao Pedro scored the only goal of the game in the 34th minute to give the Blues the London Bragging Rights over the LilyWhites from a 1-0 scoreline.
That leaves Chelsea in 7th place with the same 17 points as Tottenham and Manchester United, all having completed 10 games.
Chelsea travel to Azerbaijan on Wednesday to take on Qarabag in the Champions League-League Phase.
The inevitable outcome happened on Saturday Night, following yet another defeat for Wolves, this time a loss against Fulham by a 3-0 scoreline.
The ‘inevitable’ bit being that Vitor Pereira was sacked as Manager following 8 defeats from the 10 games played, with just 2 draws leaving Wolves at the foot of the table with 2 points.
There was a rumour that the hierarchy at Wolves were talking to Gary O’Neil, the same Gary O’Neil that the hierarchy sacked less than 12 months ago and brought in Vitor Pereira.
As the great Jimmy Greaves used to say,
‘It’s a funny old game!’
However, it does appear that Gary doesn’t want to go back.
Brendan Rodgers is now available after leaving Celtic and still has a house in the Midlands following his time at Leicester.
Erik Ten Hag is also a candidate, as is Rob Edwards who is currently the Boss at Middlesbrough, the ex-Wolves (and others) Striker Robbie Keane and Michael Carrick.
The International Break as probably come at the right time for everyone connected with Wolves who now have time to get the next appointment right.
In last season’s encounter between these two teams at Stamford Bridge, it was Chelsea that gained the home victory over Wolves by a 3-1 scoreline.
Tosin Adarabioyo scored the opener for Chelsea which was equalised by Matt Doherty to take both teams in level at the break.
Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke got the 2nd-half goals to give the Blues the win over the Gold and Blacks.
These two have just played in the Carabao Cup with Chelsea progressing to the Quarter-Finals following a win over Wolves by a 4-3 scoreline.
Betfred offer Chelsea at Odds On 3/10, the Draw at 4/1 and 15/2 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/1 that Pedro Neto Scores First and 23/20 that Chelsea Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ASTON VILLA v BOURNEMOUTH
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Aston Villa suffered an away-night defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
Although the Reds have struggled of late, the home team were too strong for Villa who lost the game by a 2-0 scoreline.
That leaves Aston Villa in 11th place with the same 15 points as Brighton, both having completed 10 games.
Villa host Maccabi Tel Aviv in Match Day-4 of the Europa League-League Phase on Thursday.
One doesn’t want to go down the political path regarding the current situation in Israel but John Newsome just hopes there isn’t any trouble at Villa Park.
Bournemouth also suffered a defeat at the weekend, this time against Man City at the Etihad by a 3-1 scoreline.
After conceding a City goal, Tyler Adams scored to level the game, however, the home team then scored twice more to inflict the defeat on the Cherries.
That was Bournemouth’s first defeat from the last 9 Premier League games and just the second from the 10 games completed.
The other was a loss against Liverpool in the opener.
Whilst Bournemouth are playing brilliantly under Andoni Iraola, the thing about Sunday’s performance at the Etihad was that the way Andoni set up his team, suited Man City who are usually up against a team that has 11 men behind the ball.
Bournemouth didn’t do that and pressed high up the pitch, however, that high-line just played into City’s hands and for that matter Erling Haaland’s who scored 2 virtually identical goals.
The Cherries sit in 5th place with the same 18 points as Sunderland and Liverpool.
Both teams shared the points just over 12 months ago when Bournemouth last visited Villa Park to take on Aston Villa.
After a goalless 1st-half, Ross Barkley scored the Villa goal in the 76th minute, which appeared to be the winner when the 90 minutes were up, however, Evanilson scored the Cherries equaliser in the 96th minute to give both teams a point apiece.
Betfred offer Aston Villa at 23/20, the Draw at 23/10 and 11/5 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/1 that Antoine Semenyo Scores First and 3/1 that Bournemouth Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BRENTFORD v NEWCASTLE
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Brentford suffered a defeat against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Palace scored a goal in each half with the 2nd being credited as an OG to the unfortunate Nathan Collins, gifting the victory by a 2-0 scoreline.
Brentford sit in 12th place with 13 points from the opening 10 games completed.
Newcastle always seem to struggle in London, which was the case again on Sunday, with the Magpies suffering a defeat against West Ham at the London Stadium by a 3-1 scoreline.
Jacob Murphy did score a superb goal to give Newcastle an early lead, however, West Ham then scored twice to lead at the break and eventually scored a 3rd in the 97th minute to inflict the loss on Eddie Howe’s boys.
The 2nd West Ham goal was credited to the unfortunate Sven Botman.
The Magpies sit in 13th place with the same 12 points as Everton from the opening 10 games completed.
Newcastle face Athletic Bilbao at St James Park on Wednesday, in Match Day-4 of the Champions League-League Phase.
Brentford gained the home victory over Newcastle by a 4-2 scoreline in last season’s encounter between these two at the GTech.
The goals going in as follows-
8′ Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford 1-0)
11′ Alexander Isak (Newcastle 1-1)
28′ Yoane Wissa ( Brentford 2-1)
32′ Harvey Barnes (Newcastle 2-2)
Half-Time Vegan Pie, Spicy Wedges and a Bovril.
56′ Nathan Collins (Brentford 3-2)
90′ Kevin Schade (Brentford 4-2)
Full-Time Dubonnet and Coke with Nachos.
Betfred offer Brentford at 15/8, the Draw at 23/10 and 13/10 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/1 that Kevin Schade Scores First and 13/8 that Nick Woltemade Scores Anytime.

CRYSTAL PALACE v BRIGHTON
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
The M23 Derby!
Crystal Palace gained an easy victory over Brentford on Saturday, with the Eagles inflicting a home defeat on the Bees by a 2-0 scoreline.
Jean-Philippe Mateta and a Brentford Own Goal gave Oliver’s Army all 3 points.
Palace had knocked Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup in the previous midweek.
The Eagles sit in 9th place with 16 points from the opening 10 games.
Crystal Palace host AZ Alkmaar at Selhurst Park on Thursday in Match Day-3 of the Europa Conference League-League Phase, which although that particular game is at home, could have a bearing on today’s showdown.
Brighton come into this Derby off the back of an easy victory over Leeds United at the Amex on Saturday.
Danny Welbeck scored the opener to give Brighton a lead at the break.
Diego Gomez then scored twice in the 2nd-half to give the Seagulls the win over the Whites by a 3-0 scoreline.
That leaves Brighton in 10th place with the same 15 points as Aston Villa both having completed 10 games.
As mentioned, the extra midweek European fixture for Crystal Palace might just give Brighton the advantage today.
Crystal Palace got the Motorway Bragging Rights with a victory over Brighton by a 2-1 score when these two met at Selhurst Park last season.
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the opener for the Eagles which was equalised by Danny Welbeck for the Seagulls to take both teams in level at the interval.
Daniel Munoz scored the Palace winner in the 55th minute to give the Eagle Ultras something to sing about.
If one’s unsure about the M23 Derby or the Motorway reference, this fixture between Palace and Brighton is classed as a Derby due to Crystal Palace being the closest Premier League team to Brighton.
There are around 46 miles between the two Stadiums with the quickest route being up and down the M23.
Betfred offer Crystal Palace at 6/5, the Draw at 12/5 and 2/1 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 13/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 9/2 that Brighton Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v LEEDS UNITED
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Nottingham Forest gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Manchester United at the City Ground on Saturday.
After conceding a United goal to trail at the break, goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicola Savona gave Forest the lead early in the 2nd-half.
There were around 90 seconds between the 2 goals.
Unfortunately, for the watching Tricky Trees in attendance, Forest couldn’t hold on for the victory, conceding a late equaliser to give both teams a share of the spoils.
At least it wasn’t a defeat for Sean Dyche’s team.
Forest remain in the relegation zone, sitting in 19th place with 6 points from the opening 10 games played.
There’s a trip to Austria on Thursday to face Sturm Graz in Match Day-4 of the Europa League-League Phase, so once again, the travelling could have a bearing on today’s game.
Leeds have now suffered 3 defeats in the last 4 games, with a loss against Brighton at the Amex being the latest setback.
Daniel Farke’s Whites conceded 3 goals to ultimately lose the game on the South Coast by a 3-0 scoreline.
That leaves Leeds in 16th place with the same 11 points as Fulham from the opening 10 games played.
Leeds’ problem is scoring goals and unfortunately for the Whites, Dominic Calvert-Lewin isn’t the answer.
The Sheffield lad won’t get many in a White Shirt, especially with the way Daniel sets up his team.
That suggests that Leeds have to get to January and then try to bring a Striker to Elland Rd.
Some of the West Yorkshire Puddings are still in Brighton trying to work out the Ticket Machines in the Train Station, with some wanting to pay with a Club Biscuit Wrapper.
‘If you like a lot of Chocolate on your biscuit join our Club!’
That’s what Daniel Farke will be saying to potential Strikers when the January Transfer Window opens.
Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the game when these two teams last met at the City Ground in the Premier League.
That was in February 2023, which gave Forest the home win over Leeds by a 1-0 score.
Betfred offer Nottingham Forest at 6/5, the Draw at 11/5 and 11/5 for Leeds United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Igor Jesus Scores First and 13/5 that Nottingham Forest Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MAN CITY v LIVERPOOL
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
What a brilliant fixture to round off Game Week-11 and round off another set of fixtures that lead into an International Break.
This will be the final International Break until March 2026, meaning it’s the Premier League all the way until then, with the odd Cup Competition thrown in.
There will be 8 Premier League Game Weeks between the 22nd of November and the end of the year.
As mentioned in last week’s column, there is going to be only 1 Premier League fixture on Boxing Day this year, which will be Manchester United v Newcastle.
A lot have complained about that particular scenario with the traditional Boxing Day fixtures appearing to be abandoned, however, if one looks at this objectively, Boxing Day this year is on a Friday, so the normal weekend games will just be the same.
Man City gained a victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad on Sunday.
Although the Cherries are having a good season up to now, the way Andoni Iraola set up his team, played into City’s hands.
Normally Pep’s teams have to play against 11 men behind the ball, however, Andoni set his players up to press City and have a high line, which Erling Haaland exploited scoring twice in the 1st-half to give the home team a lead at the break.
Bournemouth did score to equalise Erling’s opener.
Nico O’Reilly added a 3rd on the hour mark and with no further goals, Pep’s High Flying Blues got the win over Andoni’s Cherries by a 3-1 scoreline.
That leaves Man City in 2nd place with 19 points from the opening 10 games played.
Although that means City are now 6 points adrift of Arsenal at the summit, the two do have to meet again later on in the campaign, with that particular game being at the Etihad.
That fixture is scheduled for next April so a lot can happen before then and although Arsenal do look the favourites to win the Premier League, Man City will stay on the coattails up until the point that the Title Race is over.
Man City face Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad on Wednesday in the Champions League-League Phase.
Liverpool are also in European action, hosting Real Madrid on Tuesday which sees Trent Alexander-Arnold return to Anfield.
With both teams being at home and not having to travel, the midweek exertions shouldn’t affect this game today.
Liverpool got back to winning ways on Saturday, gaining a victory over Aston Villa at Anfield.
Goals from Mo Salah and Ryan Gravenberch, one in each half, gave Arne’s Slot Machines the win from a 2-0 scoreline.
It has been documented in this EveryTip column that Liverpool’s Full-Backs are the main cause of the decline in form over recent weeks.
Liverpool look more secure when Andy Robertson and Conor Bradley are the Left-Back and Right-Back respectively.
It appears that Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk trust these two players more.
It will be interesting to see who Arne Slot has chosen for the Full-Back position for this game against City and for that matter against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
This column will be published before that Champions League game kicks off but one will just add that if Arne chooses Milos Kerkez as the Left-Back, Liverpool will struggle.
That will be the same against Man City.
Liverpool sit in 3rd place, with the same 18 points as Sunderland and Bournemouth, a place and a point adrift of today’s hosts.
Liverpool gained the away-day victory over Man City at the Etihad in last season’s encounter between these two heavyweights.
Mo Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai with the goals, both in the 1st-half, giving Arne’s Slot Machines the win over Pep’s Blues by a 2-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Man City at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 11/4 and 13/5 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/4 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 7/4 that Mo Salah Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
