Game Week-29

Six of these 8 set of fixtures are the reverse of Game Week-11 which took place at the beginning of November 2024, the other 2 are the reverse of Week-13 which took place at the end of November.

Liverpool v Aston Villa has already taken place and Newcastle v Crystal Palace is rearranged for mid-April due to the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday.

Saturday 15th

EVERTON v WEST HAM

15.00 in England

The David Moyes Derby!

Jack Harrison scored the opener for Everton against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the Travelling Toffees, Wolves equalised soon after to take both teams in level at the break.

With no further goals in the 2nd-half, both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

Everton now sit in 15th place with the same 33 points as West Ham both having completed 28 games.

West Ham suffered a home defeat against Newcastle at the London Stadium on Monday Night Football.

A single Magpie goal scored in the 63rd minute saw the Hammers suffer the loss from a 1-0 scoreline.

West Ham sit in 16th now a place below today’s hosts with the same 33 points, meaning the winners will be higher in the table come early Saturday Evening.

The scorer wasn’t needed when Sean Dyche’s Toffees faced Julen Lopetegui’s Hammers at the London Stadium back at the beginning of November, with the game finishing in a draw by a 0-0 score, or as some might say, a goalless draw.

Sean and Julen were sacked soon after and will be watching this game on the 55′ TV back in Burnley and Spain respectively, leaving David Moyes to host his old team who now have Graham Potter in charge.

Should be an interesting game.

Betfred offer Everton at 23/20, the Draw at 23/10 and 11/4 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/2 that Beto Scores First and 9/4 that Everton Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

IPSWICH v NOTTINGHAM FOREST

15.00 in England

Ipswich suffered another defeat at the weekend, this time against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After holding out for 81 minutes, the Tractor Boys conceded an Eagle goal in the 82nd to ultimately suffer the loss by a 1-0 score.

That was the 3rd defeat in a row for Kieran McKenna’s Blues who sit in 19th place still with the same 17 points as Leicester from the 28 games completed by both teams.

With Wolves gaining a precious point against Everton, it now means that both Ipswich and Leicester are 6 points away from safety.

Kieran McKenna is the only Manager from the 3 promoted teams who is still in his job, with both Southampton and Leicester getting rid of Russell Martin and Steve Cooper respectively.

Added to that, it wasn’t actually Steve who got Leicester promoted, it was Enzo Maresca who then left to take over at Chelsea.

Nottingham Forest gained a great victory over Man City in the early Saturday Afternoon kickoff at the City Ground.

A single Callum Hudson-Odoi strike in the 83rd minute gave the Tricky Trees the win by a 1-0 score.

Whilst the scoreline was slightly awry, a Forest victory was predicted in this EveryTip column last week, so it’s hoped a few of the readers took advantage of the 13/5 that was on offer by Betfred.

Nottingham Forest remain in 3rd place with 51 points from the opening 28 games.

A single Chris Wood converted penalty taken early in the 2nd-half, gave Forest the victory over Ipswich when the two teams met at the City Ground in the Game Week-13 encounter at the end of November.

The two have recently played in the FA Cup where Forest progressed following a penalty shootout.

Betfred offer Ipswich at the Draw at and for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 13/5 that Chris Wood Scores First and 2/1 that Nottingham Forest Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MAN CITY v BRIGHTON

15.00 in England

Whilst this EveryTip column got the scoreline wrong, a victory for Nottingham Forest over Man City was predicted in last week’s Premier League preview.

Man City are just not the same team of old at the moment and came away from the City Ground suffering a defeat by a 1-0 score.

Pep and his None Flying Blues just want to get to the end of the season as quickly as possible without too many more losses.

That would enable Man City to regroup and get some players in for the start of the next campaign.

It would also mean that Rodri is back fit and healthy which is what City need to get back dining at the Top Table.

The Top Five Premier League teams are more than likely to be in the Champions League next season, which would mean if Man City do finish 5th they will still gain entry into the competition, when normally finishing 5th, wouldn’t be good enough.

There is a slim possibility that 7 Premier League teams are in the Champions League next season.

Hypothetically, the 7 teams that could play in the Elite European Competition are made up of the Top Five, currently Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Man City.

Plus the chance of Aston Villa gaining the 6th entry by being this year’s winner (whilst a slim chance, it is still a possibility).

The 7th team could potentially be Tottenham or Manchester United if either wins the Europa League.

It was unimaginable to think that Man City would finish outside of the Top Four at the start of the season and going back to this EveryTip 2024/25 Season Preview published on August 1st 2024, the following was added,

‘Betfred offer Man City at Odds On 1/9 to Finish in the Top 4.’

Betfred were that sure City would finish at least in the Top 4.

Man City and Chelsea head to America when this campaign finishes to take part in the World Club Cup which starts June 14th and finishes on July 13th.

More on that particular competition at a later date.

This will be another tough ask for City with the only positive being the game is at the Etihad.

Brighton gained a home victory over Fulham at the Amex on Saturday, with the Seagulls inflicting a defeat on the Cottagers by a 2-1 scoreline, as predicted in this EveryTip column last week.

After Fulham had scored first, Jan Paul Van Hecke or JPVH to his mates, equalised for Brighton to take both teams in level at the break.

Joao Pedro then ‘won’ a penalty late on, one says ‘won’ as the Seagull left his foot dangling, allowing the Fulham Defender to trip Joao up.

Mr Pedro dusted himself off and coolly converted the spot kick to give Brighton the late winner.

That was in the 98th minute.

Fab’s Seagulls sit in 7th place with 46 points from 28 fixtures played.

This is only a point adrift of Newcastle and Man City who sit in 6th and 5th respectively.

As mentioned earlier, the Top Five will probably gain entry into the Champions League so Brighton won’t rule out the possibility of overhauling City and the Magpies just yet.

A victory today would see the Seagulls do just that with Newcastle not playing in the Premier League over the weekend.

Brighton gained the victory over Man City at the Amex back at the beginning of November.

Second-half goals from Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley gave the Seagulls the win from a 2-1 scoreline.

Erling Haaland had scored to give City the lead at half-time but Pep’s Low Flying Blues were outplayed after the interval.

Betfred offer Man City at Odds On 7/10, the Draw at 100/30 and 18/5 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 100/30 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 23/10 that Danny Welbeck Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

SOUTHAMPTON v WOLVES

15.00 in England

The ‘copy and paste’ is still going!

Southampton suffered a defeat last time out.

This time against Liverpool at Anfield by a 3-1 score.

What may have been a surprise to everyone connected with the Saints is Southampton scored the first goal to go in at the break in front.

William Smallbone scoring the goal on the stroke of half-time.

Unfortunately for Ivan Juric’s Men, that was like a ‘Red Rag to a Bull’ with Liverpool scoring three 2nd-half goals to inflict the defeat on Southampton.

Two of those three goals were from converted penalties.

Southampton remain at the bottom of the Premier League Table with 9 points from 28 games completed.

That’s now 14 points from safety so in theory, a loss in all of the next 6 games will confirm the inevitability of relegation.

This could occur sooner depending on results from the other 3 teams above as it’s more than likely that 2 of Leicester, Ipswich and Wolves will join Southampton in heading back to the Championship.

If another defeat comes today, Southampton will be a massive 17 points adrift of today’s visitors.

Wolves gained a valuable point against Everton in the Saturday Night Football.

After conceding a goal just after the half-hour mark, Marshall Munetsi scored within minutes to take both teams in level at the break.

With no further goals, both teams shared the Saturday Night points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

That gave Wolves 23 points with 10 games remaining, now 6 points ahead of Leicester and Ipswich who occupy the last two relegation places with it assumed that Southampton are gone.

Goals from Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha, one in each half, gave Wolves the home victory over Southampton by a 2-0 score when the two met at Molineux in the Game Week-11 encounter.

As with the Everton v West Ham fixture this weekend, both respective Managers that day, Gary O’Neil and Russell Martin were sacked soon after, leaving Ivan Juric and Vitor Pereira to face each other today.

Betfred offer Southampton at 5/2, the Draw at 5/2 and 23/20 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 14/1 that Jean-Ricner Bellagarde Scores First and 13/5 that Wolves Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v BRENTFORD

17.30 in England

Sky Sports

Bournemouth somehow managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory against Tottenham at the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

A brilliant opening goal from Marcus Tavernier gave the Cherries a lead at the break.

Evanilson then scored a 2nd just after the hour mark which should have allowed Andoni Iraola’s team the chance to hold on for the points.

Unfortunately for the Travelling Faithful, Tottenham scored twice to give both teams a point from a draw by a 2-2 score.

The Archbishop was happy.

Bournemouth sit in 9th place with 44 points from 28 games played.

Brentford suffered a defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The good form at the GTech seems to have deserted Thomas Frank’s Bees who haven’t gained a home victory in the last 7 games.

Villa scored the solitary winning goal just after the break to inflict the defeat on Brentford by a 1-0 score.

That leaves the Bees in 12th place with 38 points from the 28 fixtures completed.

If this game mirrors the reverse fixture at the GTech Stadium, the Sky Sports viewers are in for an early Saturday Night treat before Britain Hasnt Got Talent starts.

Brentford gained a narrow win over Bournemouth back in November getting a victory by a 3-2 score.

The goals going in as follows,

17′ Evanilson- (Bournemouth 0-1)
27′ Yoane Wissa- (Brentford 1-1)

Half-Time Bovril and Extra Large Twix.

49′ Justin Kluivert- (Bournemouth 1-2)
50′ Mikkel Damsgaard- (Brentford 2-2)
58′ Yoane Wissa- (Brentford 3-2)

Full-Time Sushi Rolls with a Dubonnet and Coke.

Betfred offer Bournemouth at slight Odds On 8/11, the Draw at 16/5 and 100/30 for Brentford to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Justin Kluivert Scores First and 15/8 that Yoane Wissa Scores Anytime.

Sunday 16th

ARSENAL v CHELSEA

13.30 in England

Sky Sports

After smashing PSV Eindhoven in the 1st-leg of the Champions League last-16 by a 7-1 away night scoreline, Arsenal headed to Old Trafford on Sunday full of confidence to face a struggling Manchester United.

Unfortunately for the Travelling Gooners, Mikel’s Young Guns could only manage a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Ruben’s Red Devils.

After conceding a United goal to trail at the interval, a brilliant Declan Rice strike midway through the 2nd-half gave Arsenal an away day draw.

Despite scoring 7 against PSV, Arsenal are struggling to score goals with no convincing Number 9 in the team, having 6 different scorers in Holland.

Martin Odegaard got 2 against Eindhoven, however, despite scoring 3 times in Europe, has only scored twice in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta wasn’t happy after the game against United and walked out of the Press Conference when it was suggested that the Title Race was over.

In truth, the Title Race was over a month or two ago with Liverpool running away with the Premier League Trophy.

Arsenal stay in 2nd place with 55 points from 28 games played, a massive 15 points adrift of Liverpool, who have played a game more so that technically could be reduced to 12.

However, regardless of whether it’s 12 or 15, Arsenal now need to concentrate on the Champions League, with qualification to the Quarter-Finals virtually guaranteed following the 7-1 destruction of PSV.

The 2nd-leg takes place on Wednesday at the Emirates.

The Quarter-Final draw has already been confirmed with Arsenal now facing Madrid.

Whether that’s Real or Atletico will be decided on Wednesday too, with Real Madrid having a slight advantage over Atletico Madrid going into the 2nd-leg with a 2-1 aggregate lead.

Chelsea gained a narrow victory over Leicester on Sunday, with a single Marc Cucurella goal on the hour mark giving Enzo Maresca’s Blues the win over Enzo’s old team by a 1-0 scoreline.

Cole Palmer missed a penalty in the 1st-half which was Cole’s first miss from 12 yards out and as well as being a disappointment for CP was also a disappointment for those who had the lad as the ‘First Goal Scorer.’

It’s significant that although Chelsea have won the last 2 Premier League games, the 2 victories were against the teams sitting 19th and 20th in the Table.

Chelsea sit in 4th place with 49 points from 28 games played.

That’s 2 points adrift of Nottingham Forest in 3rd and 2 points ahead of both Man City and Newcastle.

Added to that, Chelsea are 6 points adrift of today’s opponents, so a victory for the Blues would half that deficit.

Chelsea complete their Europa League last-16 tie against FC Copenhagen at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, returning from Denmark with a 2-1 advantage from the 1st-leg.

When Arsenal headed to Stamford Bridge, both teams went in goalless at the interval before a Gunners goal from Gabriel Martinelli and a Blues strike from Pedro Neto in the 2nd-half gave both teams a share of the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

It’s more than likely that today’s fixture will not be too much different.

Betfred offer Arsenal at slight Odds On 4/5, the Draw at 11/4 and 18/5 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 13/2 that Gabriel Martinelli Scores First and 12/5 that Cole Palmer Scores Anytime.

(That could easily be the other way around!)

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

FULHAM v TOTTENHAM

13.30 in England

A pleasant London Derby for an early Sunday Afternoon bit of entertainment.

Despite Raul Jimenez scoring first against Brighton at the Amex on Saturday, unfortunately for the Travelling Cottagers, their idols conceded twice to ultimately suffer an away day defeat by a 2-1 scoreline, as predicted in this EveryTip column last week.

Raul’s celebration of his goal was disappointing too!

Fulham stay in 10th place with 42 points from 28 fixtures completed.

Tottenham gained a great point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Bournemouth at the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

After conceding 2 goals and trailing going into the final 25 minutes, Pape Matar Sarr pulled a goal back for Spurs before the home team were awarded a penalty.

Son Heung-Min converted and with no further goals, both teams shared the points from a draw by the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.

Tottenham sit in 13th place with the same 34 points as Manchester United both having completed 28 games.

Tottenham face AZ Alkmaar on Thursday in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League last-16, currently trailing by 1 goal to nil.

The unfortunate Lucas Bergvall with the Own Goal.

The game against AZ is the last chance for Ange Postecoglou to continue his quest to win a Trophy for Tottenham, after stating that ‘He Wins a Trophy in His 2nd Season!’

Let’s see AP.

This reverse fixture at the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium for the Game Week-13 encounter saw both teams share the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.

After a goalless 1st-half, Brennan Johnson scored first to give Tottenham a lead before Tom Cairney equalised for Fulham midway through the 2nd-half.

Tom then blotted his copybook by being shown a straight Red Card in the 83rd minute, leaving Fulham a man-lite for the last 10 minutes or so.

Betfred offer Fulham at Evens 1/1, the Draw at 3/1 and 5/2 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 9/2 that Raul Jimenez Scores First and 11/4 that Brennan Johnson Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LEICESTER v MANCHESTER UNITED

19.00 in England

Sky Sports

Note the start time of this fixture, Sunday at 7 PM, which has got to be better than watching Call The Midwife or Dancing On Ice.

Leicester suffered their 5th Premier League defeat in a row on Sunday, this time against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge by a 1-0 scoreline.

It was clear to see a slight change in tactics from Ruud Van Nistelrooy who tried to shore up the Defence, however, once again, the Foxes failed to score, which is the 5th time in those 5 straight losses.

Probably Ruud thought that if Leicester didn’t concede, then a point is better than nothing.

In truth, the Foxes are limping back to the Championship and will be put out of their misery, sooner rather than later.

Leicester sit in 19th place with the same 17 points as Ipswich from 28 games played, both 6 points adrift of safety and both having a far inferior goal difference than Wolves who are the safe team.

So even if Leicester gained 2 victories more than Wolves and Ipswich, the goal difference would still mean that the Foxes remain in the relegation zone.

17- Wolves- 23 points, scored 38 and conceded 57 (minus-19)

18- Ipswich- 17 points, scored 26 and conceded 58 (minus-32)

19- Leicester- 17 points, scored 25 and conceded 62 (minus-37)

20- Southampton- 9 points, scored 20 and conceded 68 (minus-48)

Despite being rubbish against virtually everyone this season, Manchester United somehow gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes scored a brilliant free kick on the stroke of half-time to give United a lead at the break.

Unfortunately for the watching Red Devil faithful in attendance, Arsenal scored an equaliser in the 2nd-half and with no further goals, both teams gained a point apiece.

That was United’s 3rd successive game in a row that has finished with a 1-1 scoreline.

Against Fulham in the FA Cup, which ultimately saw a loss from the penalty shootout, against Real Sociedad in the 1st-leg of the Europa League last-16 and now against Arsenal in the Premier League.

United sit in 14th place with the same 34 points as Tottenham from 28 games completed.

The 2nd-leg of the Europa League comes up on Thursday against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford, which as mentioned, is stalemate at 1-1 so all to play for.

The New Co-Owners of Manchester United, Sir Jim Radcliffe and his Ineos Team have announced that a New Old Trafford (New Old?) will be built at the side of the existing Stadium over the next few years at an initial cost of £2 Billion.

The 100,000 Seater Stadium will probably take around 5 years to complete but has already been given the Green Light by the Government to commence construction.

Will the Stadium be called ‘New Trafford’?

Initial AI images of ‘New Trafford’ could cause problems as there are similarities with Circus Tents which will give the impression that Manchester United continue as a Circus.

Ones sure the opposing fans, most notably the Citizens over the other side of Manchester are already coming up with derogatory memes and jokes about Manchester United and the New Stadium.

‘Are you a Circus Act? Are you a Circus Act?’

A note of caution for the Red Devil Faithful, get ready for an increase in Season Ticket Prices and for that matter, the Price of a Half-Time Pie and Pint going up.

‘We want Glazers Out!’

Ruud Van Nistelrooy oversaw his team get a victory when these two met at Old Trafford back in November.

Before the Foxes faithful start scratching their heads thinking,

‘I’m sure we lost!’

Ruud was in temporary charge of Manchester United after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag.

Steve Cooper was still at the Leicester helm.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and a Victor Kristiansen OG gave United a lead at the break.

Alejandro Garnacho scored a 3rd late on to give Manchester United the win from a 3-0 scoreline.

A game later, Leicester lost against Chelsea
which prompted the Leicester hierarchy to sack Steve and thinking Ruud was the saviour, employed the United Caretaker Manager.

Leicester were 16th in the Premier League Table when Steve walked down the concrete.

This will be the 4th meeting between United and Leicester this season with United gaining victories in 3 out of 3 up to now.

The Premier League game at Old Trafford, a Carabao Cup win at Old Trafford and then an FA Cup victory, again at Old Trafford.

Will Ruud be able to change the Foxes’ fortunes at the King Power Stadium tonight?

Betfred offer Leicester at 16/5, the Draw at 11/4 and slight Odds On 9/10 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 13/2 that Bruno Fernandes Scores First and 9/4 that Manchester United Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Away Win 0-2- Get 17/2 on Betfred & Claim your new account welcome offer!

The Scottish Premier League remains the same following Celtic and Rangers not playing in that particular competition over the weekend.

Celtic faced Hibernian (who?) in the Scottish FA Cup and progressed to the Semi-Final where St Johnstone (who?) await.

Hearts (who?) and Aberdeen (who?) make up the other Semi.

As one can see, there is no sign of Rangers who were dumped out of the Pub Cup a couple of rounds ago.

Rangers took on Fenerbahce in the 1st-leg of the Europa League last-16 and amazingly, came away from Turkey, not only with some New Hair and Teeth but a win over Jose Mourinho’s team by a 3-1 scoreline.

The ‘Not So Special One Anymore’ wasn’t happy and will be up for the 2nd-leg against Barry’s Teddy Bears at Ibrox on Thursday, with the winners facing Jose’s previous team Roma or Athletic Bilbao in the Quarter-Finals.

Roma have a 2-1 advantage from the 1st-leg tie in Italy.

The loveable YankScot who surprisingly is still in Seattle, will be avidly watching the game on Thursday evening which will be dinner time over in the US.

It’s then a little matter of the massive Old Firm Derby against Celtic at Celtic Park on Sunday, that will see some Rangers fans able to attend the game, which will be the first time that opposing fans have been allowed into Celtic Park or Ibrox for a couple of years.

Braveheart/Taylor (he’s Taylor, not Kylie now) will have his Teddy Bear Shirt on watching Rangers once again lose against Celtic.
