Game Week-33

All of these fixtures are the reverse of Game Week-5 which took place in mid-September 2025.

Saturday 18th

BRENTFORD v FULHAM

12.30 in England

TNT Sport

Brentford gained a point from a draw by a 2-2 score against Everton on Saturday.

Igor Thiago scored both of the Bees’ goals, with both being equalised by the Toffees to give each a share of the points.

That is the 4th drawn game in succession for Brentford, with 2 x 0-0’s and 2 x 2-2’s, leaving Keith Andrews men in 7th place with the same 47 points as Everton, who remain a place below due to goal difference.

Brentford’s remaining fixtures-

Fulham (H), Manchester United (A), West Ham (H), Man City (A), Crystal Palace (H and Liverpool (A).

It’s possible that 11 Premier League teams could get a European place in the various competitions so Brentford currently in 7th with 47 points, will be wanting to finish as high as possible.

There’s also a very limited chance that Brentford can get into the Champions League, however, that would mean Liverpool have to win this season’s competition, which is very unlikely, as the Reds will probably be knocked out of the tournament on Tuesday.

Fulham suffered an away defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, with the Reds getting the win from a 2-0 scoreline.

Both goals were conceded before the half-time cuppa, which did give the Cottagers all of the 2nd-half to try and get back on terms.

The loss against Arne Slot’s Reds leaves Fulham in 12th place with 44 points from the 32 games played.

Fulham’s final 6 games-

Brentford (A), Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A), Bournemouth (H), Wolves (A) and Newcastle (H)

It was Fulham who took the West London Bragging Rights, when these two met at Craven Cottage back in September 2025.

Mikkel Damsgaard scored the opening goal to give the Bees an early lead.

Alex Iwobi and Harry Wilson scored for the Cottagers before the half-time cup of tea.

The unfortunate Brentford Defender Ethan Pinnock was then credited with an Own Goal to give Fulham the victory from a 3-1 scoreline.

Betfred offer Brentford at 11/10, the Draw at 13/5 and 9/4 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 4/1 that Igor Thiago Scores First and 5/2 that Harry Wilson Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

LEEDS UNITED v WOLVES

15.00 in England

Leeds gained a great victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday Night Football.

Noah Okafor scored twice in the opening 30 minutes to give the away team a comfortable lead.

In truth, Leeds could have scored more.

Things then got better for the Whites when Lisandro Martinez was shown a straight Red Card and sent off for, wait for it, for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair.

Pulling hair!

Although down to 10 men Manchester United did pull a goal back to halve the deficit, however, time ran out and Leeds held on for the brilliant victory from a 2-1 scoreline.

Leeds sit in 15th place with 36 points from 32 games played.

Another win and it should see Leeds stay in the Premier League for the 2026/27 campaign.

The West Yorkshire Puddings all headed back down the M62 and found a ‘Spoons to share a pint of Guinness between 6 of them.

Leeds remaining fixtures are-

Wolves (H), Bournemouth (A), Burnley (H), Tottenham (A), Brighton and West Ham (A)
Wolves’ recent upturn in fortunes, which saw 2 wins (against Liverpool and Aston Villa) and a draw (against Brentford) came to an end on Friday Night Football, with the Gold and Blacks suffering a devastating defeat against the Hammers by a 4-0 scoreline.

If one remembers, the current West Ham Manager, Nuno Espírito Santo, gained promotion as the Wolves Boss back in 2018, where Wolves have remained until May 2026, when it’s time to say goodbye to the Promised Land and head back to the Championship.

Nuno’s first season in the Premier League (2018/19) saw Wolves finish 7th and gain entry into the Europa League.

The season after (2019/20) Wolves finished 7th again under NES.

Added to that, the Europa League adventure in 2019/20, led to a Quarter-Final appearance that sadly ended in defeat against Sevilla.

That particular season was during the COVID pandemic which meant that the Quarter-Final against Sevilla was only a 1-game affair that took place in Germany, which obviously changed a number of dynamics regarding Wolves’ Europa League campaign.

Nuno Espírito Santo left Molineux at the end of the 2020/21 season, which has seen Wolves under the guidance of 5 different Managers since the beginning of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.

Bruno Lage
Julen Lopetegui
Gary O’Neil
Vitor Pereira
Rob Edwards

It’s now the unfortunate Rob Edwards who will have his name associated with Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League, following 8 seasons in the Top Flight.

Wolves sit at the bottom of the table with 17 points, now 15 points from safety with 6 games remaining.

That means, depending on the Game Week-33 results, Wolves’ relegation could be officially confirmed this weekend.

In truth, it’s going to be either this Game Week or the next, as the inevitability of relegation will happen.

The Rotund Lady is getting ready to warble.

Wolves’ remaining fixtures-

Leeds United (A), Tottenham (H), Sunderland (H), Brighton (A), Fulham (H) and Burnley (A).

Leeds United gained the away win over Wolves at Molineux back in September.

Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor gave Daniel Farke’s Whites the victory over Vitor Pereira’s Gold and Blacks by a 3-1 scoreline.

Ladislav Krejci scored the Wolves’ goal to give the home team an early lead.

All 4 goals went in before the half-time interval.

Betfred offer Leeds United at slight Odds On 3/5, the Draw at 3/1 and 9/2 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 4/1 that Lucas Nmecha Scores First and slight Odds On 10/11 that Both Teams Score,

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NEWCASTLE v BOURNEMOUTH

15.00 in England

The Eddie Howe Derby.

What is happening at St James Park?

Newcastle have lost their last 2 Premier League games, the latest being against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

William Osula scored the Magpies goal in the 1st-half to give Newcastle a lead at the break.

Palace then scored twice to inflict the defeat on Newcastle by a 2-1 scoreline.

That followed the loss against Sunderland before the International Break by the same 2-1 score.

At the moment, it appears Eddie Howe’s position as Manager is safe but come the end of this season, it’s quite possible that Eddie could be sacked and on his way down the concrete.

There’s only so far that one can take a team before the sound of the Boss becomes White Noise.

Are Eddie’s words now just White Noise?

Newcastle’s final 6 fixtures-

Bournemouth (H), Arsenal (A), Brighton (H), Nottingham Forest (A), West Ham (H) and Fulham (A).

Bournemouth put a dent in Arsenal’s title challenge on Saturday, getting a victory over the Gunners at the Emirates from a 2-1 scoreline, coincidentally the same score as last season’s tie at Arsenal’s home.

Eli Junior Kroupi scored first to give the Cherries an early lead before the unfortunate Ryan Christie was deemed to have handled the ball in the area, with a subsequent penalty awarded.

The on-field referee Michael Oliver pointed straight to the spot, with the dreaded VAR confirming the decision.

Arsenal converted to make the score level at the break.

Alex Scott, who was brilliant throughout the game, scored the eventual winner in the 74th minute to give the Cherries the points and break the hearts of the watching Gooners in attendance.

Bournemouth still have hopes of a possible European entry for next season and now sit in 11th place with 45 points from the 32 games completed.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 0-0 score, when the two met for the Game Week-5 encounter at the Vitality.

The two teams played each other for a 2nd time in early January where Newcastle progressed to the 4th-Round of the FA Cup following a penalty shootout.

Betfred offer Newcastle at slight Odds On 19/20, the Draw at 3/1 and 12/5 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Anthony Gordon Scores First and 9/5 that Evanilson Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

TOTTENHAM v BRIGHTON

17.30 in England

Sky Sports

Tottenham’s poor form continued on Sunday against Sunderland, with the Black Cats inflicting a defeat on Spurs at the Stadium of Light.

The New Manager Bounce didn’t work, as it appears Tottenham will lose regardless of who is in Boss’s Chair.

The weekend didn’t start well for everyone connected with Tottenham, when the London Rivals West Ham got a victory over Wolves on Friday, which meant the Hammers swapped places with Spurs, dropping Roberto De Zerbi’s team into the bottom 3 before their defeat against Sunderland from a 1-0 scoreline.

That means Tottenham sit in 18th place with 30 points from the 32 games completed.

Tottenham have suffered defeats in 7 of their last 9 Premier League games, with draws in the other 2, meaning 2 points from a possible 27.

That, in anyone’s language, is relegation form.

There’s always the old favourite saying-

‘Xxxx are too good to go down!’

Replace ‘Xxxx’ with any team.

On this occasion, ‘Xxxx’ represent Tottenham and on this occasion, ‘Xxxx’ are not too good to go down.

Tottenham’s remaining 6 games-

Brighton (H), Wolves (A), Aston Villa (A), Leeds United (H), Chelsea (A) and Everton (H).

If one looks at those fixtures, where are Tottenham going to get any points from?

These are all massive games but probably the biggest one is the Game Week-36 affair against Leeds United.

Leeds currently sit in 15th place with 36 points, 6 more than Tottenham.

When Tottenham are facing Brighton, Wolves and Aston Villa, Leeds will be up against Wolves, Bournemouth and Burnley, so from the perspective of all connected with the Spurs, it’s imperative that Tottenham at least match the results over those 3 games, that Leeds achieve, meaning the Game Week-36 encounter will see the two separated by 6 points, giving Tottenham a realistic chance of getting out of the relegation zone.

Obviously, there’s a lot of other scenarios that could happen with the teams currently in and around the relegation places.

The realism for the relegation run in is this,

Wolves and Burnley will be relegated.

It’s then one of Tottenham (30 points), West Ham (32 points), Nottingham Forest (33 points) and Leeds United (36 points) that are going down.

Newcastle are the team sitting in 14th with 42 points so despite the Magpies poor form, Newcastle won’t be dragged into a relegation battle.

West Ham and Nottingham Forest will have their own adventure over the next 3 games but Tottenham’s immediate challenge is to at least match Leeds’ results, so when the two meet in Game Week-36, the gap is only 6 points, which, although is equivalent to 2 wins, gives Tottenham a chance to get closer.

15- Leeds United- 36 pts

16- Nottingham Forest- 33 pts
17- West Ham- 32 pts

18- Tottenham- 30 pts
19- Burnley- 20 pts
20- Wolves- 17 pts

***Leeds United- scored 39 and conceded 49 (minus-10)

***Nottingham Forest- scored 32 and conceded 44 (minus-12)

***West Ham- scored 40 and conceded 57 (minus-17)

***Tottenham- scored 40 and conceded 51 (minus- 11)

Are Tottenham too good to go down?

Brighton have now won 5 of the last 6 Premier League games following Saturday’s win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Mats Weiffer scored both goals to give Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls the victory over Scott Parker’s Clarets by a 2-0 scoreline.

Brighton sit in 9th place with the same 46 points as Sunderland.

Along with Crystal Palace (42 pts), Fulham (44 pts), Bournemouth (45 pts), Sunderland (46 pts) Everton (47 pts) and Brentford (47 pts), all are vying to finish as high as possible and gain entry into the various European competitions for next season.

The Seagulls remaining 6 fixtures are-

Tottenham (A), Chelsea (H), Newcastle (A), Wolves (H), Leeds United (A) and Manchester United (H).

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score when Tottenham took on Brighton at the Amex back in September.

Yankuba Minteh and Yasin Ayari scored the Seagulls’ goals to take a 2-0 lead, before Richarlison scored for Tottenham to halve the deficit at the break.

The unfortunate Jan Paul Van Hecke was then credited with an Own Goal to gift Tottenham a point from the Archbishops favourite scoreline.

Betfred offer Tottenham at 8/5, the Draw at 13/5 and 6/4 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Danny Welbeck Scores First and 21/10 that Brighton Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED

20.00 in England

TNT Sport

‘Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea,’

-is the innovative ditty the Blues faithful warble at Stamford Bridge, however, not many of the fans feel like singing at the moment.

Chelsea currently sit in 6th place with 48 points from 32 games, following Sundays defeat against Man City from a 3-0 score.

That’s the 3rd Premier League loss in a row for Liam Rosenior’s Blues with all wondering what is happening at Stamford Bridge.

In truth, the defeat against Man City is neither here nor there, as Chelsea haven’t got a victory over City in the last 14 games in all competitions, since the Champions League Final in 2021.

Premier league-

Played 10 times, 7 losses and 3 draws.

FA Cup-

Played twice, 2 losses.

Carabao Cup-

Played once, 1 loss.

World Club Friendly-

Played once, 1 loss.

So it was unlikely that the faithful were expecting anything on Sunday.

The problem appears to be much deeper, with the club coming out over the last week with amazing financial results.

‘Chelsea announced pre-tax losses of £262.4 Million ($349.1m) for the year ending June 30, 2025 on the same day it was revealed they had spent significantly more on agents’ fees than any other English club this season.’

Which is the biggest pre-tax loss ever recorded by a Premier League club.

One word- Wow!

Chelsea are a good team with some great players, however, the Manager (Liam Rosenior) isn’t an elite Gaffer and will never be able to get Chelsea back to competing at the top table.

Whether Liam is at Stamford Bridge next season is for others to decide, however, John Newsome thinks the lad will be down the concrete with the Chelsea hierarchy appointing someone close to Elite Level.

As mentioned, Chelsea sit in 6th place which will gain entry into Europe next season, however, it probably won’t be the Champions League which is what a team who spends loads of money, need.

Added to that, Chelsea’s 6th place/48 points is only 3 points more than
Bournemouth’s 11th place/45 points, meaning over the next few Game Weeks, Chelsea could realistically be mid-table or worse.

Chelsea’s final 6 games-

Manchester United (H), Brighton (A), Nottingham Forest (H), Liverpool (A), Tottenham (H) and Sunderland (A).

Good luck with those, Blues!

Manchester United conceded 2 goals before half an hour was on the clock against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday Night Football.

In truth, the Red United weren’t at the races and then things got worse when Lisandro Martinez was shown a straight Red Card for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair!

Pulling hair?

What is wrong with folk, most United fans would have preferred it if Lisandro had dove in on Dominic with his studs up.

Not get sent off for pulling hair.

Casemiro did pull a goal back to halve the deficit but United were second best, with Leeds holding on for the win by a 2-1 score.

The defeat leaves United in 3rd place with the same 55 points as Aston Villa, both having completed 32 games.

United’s 6-game run in-

Chelsea (A), Brentford (H), LIVERPOOL (H), Sunderland (A), Nottingham Forest (H) and Brighton (A).

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United team gained a home victory over Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea in the game at Old Trafford back in September.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro scored the United goals in the 1st-half to give the home team a lead at the break.

The goals weren’t the only excitement of the 1st-half action, with firstly Robert Sanchez being sent off after just 5 minutes of play for fouling Bryan Mbeumo.

Casemiro, who was booked before he scored, was then shown a 2nd-Yellow and the subsequent Red in the 5th minute of injury time, leaving both teams with 10 men for the whole of the 2nd-half.

Trevoh Chalobah scored for the Blues in the 80th minute to give the travelling faithful hope of a comeback, however, time ran out and United got the win from a 2-1 scoreline.

Both Managers have been subsequently replaced so will be watching on the 75-inch in the local Portuguese/Italian Boozer.

Betfred offer Chelsea at 5/4, the Draw at 13/5 and 2/1 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 11/2 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 21/10 that Bruno Fernandes Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ASTON VILLA v SUNDERLAND

14.00 in England

Sky Sports

Aston Villa gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against fellow Midlanders Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.

Forest’s Big Defender Murillo was credited with Villa’s goal after 23 minutes, with Forest then scoring an equaliser 15 minutes later, to take both teams in level at the break.

With no further goals in the 2nd-half, both teams went home with a point apiece.

Villa remain in 4th place with the same 55 points as Manchester United from 32 games played.

Liverpool in 5th, have 52 points with the two set to meet each other in Game Week-37, which could potentially decide who plays in next season’s Champions League.

That said, Unai Emery is a Europa League expert, winning the Trophy 4 times, (3 with Sevilla and 1 with Villarreal) so will more than likely be concentrating on that particular competition, knowing that winning the tournament, automatically gives a team a Champion League place.

Villa’s final 6 Premier League fixtures-

Sunderland (H), Fulham (A), Tottenham (H), Burnley (A), Liverpool (H) and Man City (A).

Aston Villa face Bologna at Villa Park on Thursday, in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final, currently holding a 2-goal advantage from the 1st-leg in Italy, which finished 3-1 in favour of Villa.

If successful added to Nottingham Forest also winning their tie, both Midlanders will meet each other in the Semi-Final.

Sunderland gained a victory over Tottenham at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

After a goalless 1st-half, a single Nordi Mukiele goal, scored in the 61st minute, gave Regis Le Bris’ Black Cats the points from a 1-0 scoreline.

As mentioned earlier, Sunderland sit in 10th place with the same 46 points as Brighton and as with a number of teams, all vying to finish as high as possible to get the opportunity of entry into a European Competition.

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score in the Game Week-5 encounter at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland were reduced to 10 men when Reinildo Mandava was shown a straight Red Card in the 33rd minute.

Matty Cash scored the Villa goal in the 67th before Wilson Isidor scored the Sunderland equaliser 8 minutes later to give both teams a point apiece.

Betfred offer Aston Villa at Odds On 3/5, the Draw at 3/1 and 9/2 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 4/1 that Ollie Watkins Scores First and slight Odds On 10/11 that Both Teams Score.

EVERTON v LIVERPOOL

14.00 in England

Sky Sports

The Merseyside Derby.

Everton come into this first Merseyside Derby at Hill Dickinson Stadium off the back of a draw against Brentford at the GTech Stadium on Saturday.

After conceding a Bees goal following a penalty awarded to Brentford in the 3rd minute, Beto scored an equaliser midway through the 1st-half to take both teams in level at the break.

Brentford then scored a 2nd and as the clock ticked over the 90 minute mark, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored an equaliser for the Toffees to give both teams a point apiece from a 2-2 scoreline.

Everton are currently sitting in 8th place with the same 47 points as Saturday’s opponents Brentford, both hoping to get in those elusive European spots for next season.

Everton’s remaining 6 games-

LIVERPOOL (H), West Ham (A), Man City (H), Crystal Palace (A), Sunderland (H) and Tottenham (A).

Following 3 straight defeats in all competitions (Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League) Liverpool come into this first fixture at Everton’s New Home off the back of a victory against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday.

Rio Ngumoha and Mo Salah scored the goals to give Arne’s Slot Machines the win over Marco’s Cottagers from a 2-0 scoreline.

Mr Ngumoha not only brought a drab game to life but created a slice of history in becoming Liverpool’s youngest league goalscorer at Anfield, aged 17 years and 225 days.

The lad took a 14-year record that had previously belonged to Raheem Sterling.

That result leaves Liverpool in 5th place with 52 points from 32 games played.

Due to Arsenal’s 1st-leg win over Sporting Lisbon last week, 5th place will gain entry into next season’s Champions League.

That could even rise to 7 Premier League teams in the Champions League next season.

It would require Liverpool to win the Trophy this term (they won’t!) while also finishing in the top five of the Premier League.

If that did happen, because of Liverpool’s qualification as holders the free spot given to their league position would pass down to the team in sixth, in theory.

If Aston Villa occupy that sixth position and win the Europa League, which they are favourites to do, Villa would automatically qualify for the Champions League Leaving the team in seventh, currently Brentford, to sweep up and reach Europe’s premier competition as one of a record-breaking seven representatives.

That’s a possibility but Liverpool’s Champions League adventure is all but over after suffering a defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the 1st-leg last Wednesday.

The scoreline of 2-0 to the French side, flattered Liverpool as it could have quite easily been 5 or 6-nil,

It would need an exceptional performance from Arne’s Stuttering Slots on Tuesday to turn the tie around.

Liverpool’s final 6 fixtures-

EVERTON (A), Crystal Palace (H), MANCHESTER UNITED (A), Chelsea (H), Aston Villa (A) and Brentford (H).

It was the Red Side of Mersey that took the Bragging Rights when these two met at Anfield for the Game Week-5 affair.

Goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike gave Liverpool the lead at the break.

Idrissa Gueye scored to halve the deficit just before the hour mark, however, Arne’s Slots held on for the win over David’s Toffees from a 2-1 scoreline.

Betfred offer Everton at 9/4, the Draw at 13/5 and 11/10 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 15/2 that Beto Scores First and 3/1 that Dominik Szoboszlai Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST v BURNLEY

14.00 in England

Sky Sports

Nottingham Forest gained a point from a draw by a 1-1 score against Aston Villa at the City Ground on Sunday.

The unfortunate Murillo scored an Own Goal after 23 minutes to gift Vila a lead.

Neco Williams scored an equaliser 15 minutes later, to take both teams in level at the break.

With no 2nd-half goals, both went home with a point apiece.

Nottingham Forest face Porto at the City Ground on Thursday, in the 2nd-leg of the Europa League Quarter-Final with the tie equally balanced from the 1st-leg, which finished in a draw from a 1-1 score

If Forest are successful and progress to the Semi-Final, then it will potentially be an all-England clash against Aston Villa, with Villa currently holding a lead from their 1st-leg.

Forest’s remaining 6 PL fixtures-

Burnley (A), Sunderland (A), Chelsea (A), Newcastle (H), Manchester United (A) and Bournemouth (H).
The Burnley players have 1 foot in the Flip Flops waiting for a disastrous season to come to an end, following the latest defeat, this time against Brighton on Saturday.

The loss from a 2-0 scoreline, leaves the Clarets in 19th place with 20 points from 32 games played.

The Clarets remaining 6 fixtures are-

Nottingham Forest (A), Man City (H), Leeds (A), Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (A) and Wolves (H).

Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor.

Neco Williams scored the Forest goal after just 2 minutes had passed.

Jaidon Anthony equalised for Burnley 18 minutes later, and with no further goals in the remaining 70 minutes or so, both teams went home with a point apiece.

Forest had Ange Postecoglou in charge for that game after just getting rid of Nuno Espírito Santo.

It’s amazing to think that Forest, who are not in the relegation zone, have had 4 Managers this season and Burnley, who are in the relegation places, still have Scott Parker at the helm.

Betfred offer Nottingham Forest at Odds On 8/15, the Draw at 16/5 and 5/1 for Burnley to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/1 that Morgan Gibbs-White Scores First and 6/4 that Nottingham Forest Win To Nil.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MAN CITY v ARSENAL

16.30 in England

Sky Sports

What a game to get excited about on a Sunday Afternoon.

Following the hors d’oeuvre of the Merseyside Derby and Saturday Nights Chelsea v Manchester United game, it’s now the main course of Man City v Arsenal.

After a cagey 1st-half against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Man City took control after the break scoring 3 times to get the victory over the Blues from a 3-0 scoreline.

Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi and Jeremy Doku got the City goals following a severe half-time talk from Pep Guardiola.

Due to Arsenal suffering a defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday, it’s now back in Man City’s hands to win the Premier League Title if they want it.

What’s meant by that is if Man City win all of their remaining 7 games, it would give Pep’s High Flying Blues a total of 85 points.

Arsenal would then only be able to achieve the same 85 points by winning 5 of their remaining 6.

(Obviously if Man City win all 7, including this fixture today, it means Arsenal can only win 5!)

It would then come down to goal difference.

1- Arsenal 70 pts- scored 62 and conceded 24 (plus+38)

2- Man City 64 pts- scored 63 and conceded 28 (plus+35)

Man City would have to score 3 goals more than Arsenal to make the goal difference in their favour.

Can anyone say that Man City won’t score 3 goals more than Arsenal in the remaining games.

Added to that, whatever the score is today, if City do win, the goal difference will change dramatically.

For example-

Man City 1 Arsenal 0

Some would automatically assume that Arsenal would have a plus+38 and Man City would have a plus+36, however, that’s forgetting that Arsenal would also lose a goal due to conceding.

That score of just 1-0 would see a 2-goal swing.

Imagine if Man City get a victory by just a 2-0 score, the goal difference then would be-

1- Arsenal 70 pts- scored 62 and conceded 26 (plus+36)

2- Man City 67 pts- scored 65 and conceded 28 (plus+37)

Leaving Man City still in 2nd but with a better goal difference and a game in hand, which if successful, puts the points level but City would then jump above Arsenal as the Blues would automatically have a better goal difference.

Man City’s remaining 7 games-

(Remember it’s 7, due to the postponed game against Crystal Palace)

ARSENAL (H), Burnley (A), Everton (A), Crystal Palace (H), Brentford (H), Bournemouth (A) and Aston Villa (H).

Arsenal’s title hopes were dealt a blow on Saturday, following a home defeat against Bournemouth from a 2-1 scoreline.

After conceding an early goal, Viktor Gyokeres converted a penalty in the 35th minute following a handball decision.

The on-field referee did point to the spot straight away which was good to see and then his decision was subsequently confirmed by the dreaded VAR.

The on-field referee was Michael Oliver, one of the better referees, who made the decision to give a penalty and not hide behind the Stockley Park Brigade.

When it appeared that Arsenal would push on for the win, the opposite happened, with Bournemouth scoring a 2nd and ultimately the winner to stun everyone connected with the Gunners.

Arsenal remain at the summit with 70 points, however, due to Man City getting a victory over Chelsea, the gap is now 6 points with the two meeting today and then City having an extra game to play, to make up those 6 points.

It could easily come down to goal difference-

1- Arsenal 70 pts- scored 62 and conceded 24 (plus+38)

2- Man City 64 pts- scored 63 and conceded 28 (plus+35)

One thing is for sure, Mikel Arteta’s great friendship with his mate Andoni Iraola, might not be that great after Saturday’s game.

Arsenal face Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates on Wednesday, in the 2nd-leg of the Champions League Quarter-Final.

A superb Kai Havertz goal, scored in the 91st minute, gave Mikel’s Young Guns a narrow advantage going into the 2nd-leg.

The Game Week-5 encounter at the Emirates, saw both teams gain a point from a draw by a 1-1 score.

Erling Haaland scored first to give City a lead at the break.

When it appeared that Man City were going to get the victory, Gabriel Martinelli ruined the Manc Party by scoring an equaliser in the 93rd minute.

Betfred offer Man City at slight Odds On 5/6, the Draw at 11/4 and 3/1 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 5/2 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 7/4 that Man City Score in Both Halves.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CRYSTAL PALACE v WEST HAM

20.00 in England

Sky Sports

Crystal Palace came from a goal behind to inflict a defeat on Newcastle at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

After conceding a Newcastle goal just before the interval, Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice (1 being a penalty) in the 2nd-half to give the Eagles the victory over the Magpies from a 2-1 scoreline.

Palace swapped places with Newcastle following the game, jumping to 13th place with the same 42 points as Saturdays opponents, however, the Eagles have only completed 31 games, not 32 that Newcastle have played.

Palace’s remaining games-

West Ham (H), Liverpool (A), Bournemouth (A), Everton (H), Man City (A), Brentford (A) and Arsenal (H).

Crystal Palace gained an easy victory over Fiorentina in the 1st-leg of the Europa Conference League Quarter-Final.

Palace take home a 3-goal advantage following a win over the Italians by a 3-0 scoreline, with the game at Selhurst Park coming up on Thursday, before this fixture against West Ham.

West Ham will have had 10 days off before this trip to Selhurst Park following last Friday’s victory over Wolves at the London Stadium.

Two goals apiece from Konstantinos
Mavropanos and Taty Castellanos gave the Hammers the win over the Gold and Blacks from a 4-0 scoreline.

The brilliant performance not only lifted West Ham out of the drop zone, up to 17th place now with 32 points from 32 games played but had the added bonus of dropping their London Rivals Tottenham into the relegation places.

The Bubbles, who do like a moan, weren’t moaning at that ‘right touch!’

West Ham’s remaining 6 fixtures-

Crystal Palace (A), Everton (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A) and the final game against Leeds (H), which, as already mentioned, could be a ‘winner takes all’ finale.

The ‘winner’ being the team taking their place in the Premier League next season.

Just a little side note to that final fixture and there are a few scenarios to occur before Game Week-38.

However, imagine Tottenham being in 18th place, 3 points adrift of both West Ham and Leeds United.

Would the two teams (West Ham and Leeds) agree to play out a bore draw, neither going for the win, just tapping the ball around for 90 minutes, with the game finishing in a stalemate by a 0-0 score, making sure both teams gain a point and stay up and subsequently sending Tottenham down?

Like one says, that’s a long way off but watch this space if West Ham and Leeds have 3 points more than Tottenham going into the final game of the season!

It was Crystal Palace who got the victory over West Ham back in September at the London Stadium.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the opener to give Palace a lead at the break.

Jarrod Bowen got the West Ham equaliser just after the restart.

Tyrick Mitchell then became the unlikely hero, scoring what turned out to be the Eagles’ winner in the 68th minute.

Betfred offer Crystal Palace at 6/5, the Draw at 12/5 and 11/5 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.

Betfred offer 7/2 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores First and 21/10 Jarrod Bowen Scores Anytime.

(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
