Game Week-37
These fixtures are the reverse of Game Week-10 that took place in early November 2024.
Friday 16th
ASTON VILLA v TOTTENHAM
19.30 in England
Sky Sports
This fixture has been brought forward to allow Tottenham to have the same break as Manchester United before the two compete in the Europa League Final on Wednesday, the 21st of May.
The coincidence for Villa is Unai’s Claret and Blues face both of the Finalists in their remaining 2 games.
Whilst the Premier League has allowed the late change in the fixture, which is acceptable from a Tottenham and Manchester United perspective, the PL doesn’t take into consideration the fact that a lot of the fans will have booked travel arrangements for Sunday, which was the original date of this game.
A single Ollie Watkins goal scored on the stroke of half-time gave Aston Villa the victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality on Saturday.
It’s amazing to think that Ollie was put on the bench for the 2 Champions League games against Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League fixture against Man City, with Marcus Rashford preferred.
Ollie had scored in the games on either side of those 3 fixtures but was then dropped to the bench.
Marcus has gone missing since the game against Man City.
It’s unlikely that Villa will allow Ollie Watkins to leave but the lad would be a perfect fit for Arsenal who are desperate for a Striker and it’s commonly known that OW is an Arsenal fan.
That’s for others to decide, for now, Aston Villa sit in 6th place with the same 63 points as Chelsea, both with 2 games remaining, however, Chelsea are the ones who are in the final Champions League place.
Chelsea have a far better goal difference than Aston Villa, with the Blues having a plus+19.
Villa have a plus+7, so Aston Villa do need to gain a maximum of 6 points from the remaining two and hope Chelsea draw at least one of their two to switch places as it’s unlikely the goal difference will be overhauled.
Aston Villa’s remaining fixtures-
Tottenham H
Manchester United A
It’s amazing to think that the two worst teams in the Premier League (after the 3 relegated clubs) are in the Final of the Europa League.
That’s what’s happening next week with both Manchester United and Tottenham progressing to the Final in Bilbao on the 21st.
Tottenham suffered a home defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday with the Eagles swooping across London to gain the victory over Spurs by a 2-0 scoreline.
That leaves Tottenham sitting in 17th place with 38 points from 36 games played.
A point less than United.
Most will be hoping that the Europa League Final isn’t ‘point less’ and definitely not goalless.
Tottenham’s remaining fixtures-
Aston Villa A
Brighton H
At the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium back in November, it was surprisingly the home team that gained the easy victory with Tottenham inflicting a defeat on Aston Villa by a 4-1 scoreline.
Morgan Rogers scored the opener to give Aston Villa a lead at the break.
It was then the Spurs Show, with Brennan Johnson scoring the equaliser, before Dominic Solanke got 2 and James Maddison added a 4th to give Tottenham the home win.
One says, ‘surprisingly’ in the opening paragraph because of how the season has developed, with Tottenham sitting so low and Villa going for the Champions League places.
Betfred are offering a New Feature of ‘2 Up Early Payout’ but at slightly reduced Odds.
To explain, if Tottenham take a 2-0 goal lead, then Betfred will pay the punter straight away as if Tottenham had won.
Then, if Aston Villa went on and won the game, Betfred would pay the punters who had bet on Villa to win.
In the recent El Classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid,
Madrid took a 2-0 lead (going 2 Goals Up) with Kylian Mbappe scoring both goals.
Betfred paid out to those who had bet on Real Madrid.
Barcelona then scored 4 times (ultimately also going 2 Goals Up), so Betfred paid out on those who had bet on Barcelona before the Final Whistle, thus paying both sets of punters.
Barcelona subsequently got the victory from a 4-3 score.
Betfred offer Aston Villa at Odds On 4/11, the Draw at 4/1 and 11/2 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.
***2 Up Odds, Aston Villa at Odds On 1/3, the Draw at 4/1 and 24/5 for Tottenham to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.
Betfred offer 10/3 that Ollie Watkins Scores First and slight Odds On 10/11 that there are Over 3.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Both teams have made the Final of their respective European Competitions, with Chelsea facing Real Betis in the Europa Conference League and United squaring up to Tottenham in the Europa League.
The only difference is, Chelsea’s game against Betis comes up after the Premier League has finished, with the Europa Conference League Final taking place on the 28th of May, whereas United take on Tottenham a week earlier on the 21st, which could have a significant bearing on tonight’s game.
Chelsea suffered an away day defeat against Newcastle on Sunday with the Magpies getting the victory over the Blues by a 2-0 scoreline.
Both goals were conceded 88 minutes apart, one in the 2nd minute and one in the 90th.
Nicolas Jackson was shown an initial Yellow Card for an incident with Sven Botman, however, the dreaded VAR got involved and advised the on-field referee, John Brooks, to have a look at the monitor.
Once this was done, it showed Nicolas had elbowed Sven in the face, so the Yellow was upgraded to a Red and Mr Jackson was sent off.
Whilst it’s usually the case when the on-field referee is asked to look at the monitor, that the original decision is changed, there was an incident in the Fulham v Everton game that one will come on to later.
Chelsea sit in 5th place with the same 63 points as Aston Villa but sit in the Final Champions League place having a superior goal difference.
Chelsea’s remaining fixtures-
Manchester United H
Nottingham Forest A
Chelsea will want a maximum of 6 points from those two to try and get into the Top Five and a Champions League spot.
Depending on results over this weekend, the final fixture against Nottingham Forest could become a Champions League Play-Off.
Manchester United are rubbish in England but brilliant in Europe.
As mentioned, Ruben’s Red Devils progressed to the Final of the Europa League and will face Tottenham on the 21st of May.
Unfortunately for Ruben’s Rubbish Reds, United suffered another home defeat on Sunday, this time against West Ham at Old Trafford, with the Hammers getting the victory from a 2-0 scoreline.
That’s now 9 home defeats this season, 2 under Erik Ten Hag and 7 under Ruben Amorim.
This leaves United in 16th place with 39 points from 36 games completed.
A point less than the Hammers, who jumped above following Sunday’s game.
SIXTEENTH!
As Gary Neville often says,
‘This is Manchester United!’
There is the consolation of the Europa League Final, which, a victory would mean a Champions League spot next season, however, what if United lose that Final?
Where does Ruben Amorim go from there?
Manchester United’s remaining fixtures-
Chelsea A
Aston Villa H
At Old Trafford back in November, both teams shared the points from a draw by 1-1 score.
After a goalless 1st-half, Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty on the 70 minute mark, before Moises Caceido scored an equaliser for the home team 4 minutes later and with no further goals, both gained a point apiece from the popular scoreline of 1-1, which has occurred 4 times in the last 7 games.
The 2 previous games to those 7 produced a draw by a 0-0 score.
Although a draw is common in this fixture, as mentioned, United’s Europa League Final next Wednesday could mean that Ruben Amorim sends out a weakened team.
Betfred offer Chelsea at Odds On 1/3, the Draw at 4/1 and 13/2 for Manchester United to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of ‘2 Up Early Payout’ but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, Chelsea at Odds On 3/10, the Draw at 4/1 and 11/2 that Manchester United come away early, going 2 Goals Up.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Cole Palmer Scores First and 7/5 that Chelsea Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Sunday 18th
EVERTON v SOUTHAMPTON
12.00 in England
TNT Sport
The final game at the iconic Goodison Park.
The Toffees get to say goodbye to their home of 133 years with a game against the worst team in the Premier League, which couldn’t be more apt to try and get a victory in the finale.
Everton gained a brilliant away day victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
After Fulham had scored to lead approaching half-time, Vitali Mykolenko got the equaliser in the 3rd minute of injury time to take both teams in level at the break.
Michael Keane and Beto then scored the Everton goals in the 2nd-half to give the Toffees the victory from a 3-1 scoreline.
It was mentioned in the Chelsea v Manchester United preview about the dreaded VAR, prompting the on-field referee to go and check out a decision on the monitor.
Usually, when this happens, the original decision is changed but on Saturday at Craven Cottage, the on-field referee Darren England bucked the trend when a contentious handball decision was waved away.
However, the dreaded VAR advised Darren to look at the monitor, which then was assumed the decision to play on was going to be changed to the award of a penalty.
Darren watched the replay and stuck to his original decision that although the ball struck Vitali Mykolenko’s hand, it wasn’t a penalty.
Fair play to Mr England, which should be followed by other referees.
It sometimes appears that the on-field referee is being told to change his original decision by someone sitting in a Unit on an Industrial Park.
The on-field referee and linesmen (and women) should be able to make the decision and just have the Stockley Park Brigade as a backup.
Darren felt the handball was accidental and despite someone else getting involved, who to be fair, shouldn’t have, Mr England stuck to his original decision and said,
‘No!’
David Moyes was pleased too and actually applauded the decision.
A quick added side note to that, is there a hierarchy between the referees at Stockley Park?
The VAR on Saturday was Michael Salisbury, who isn’t as well known as an official as say, Michael Oliver or Stuart Attwell.
Was Darren England confident enough to stick with his original decision because it was Michael Salisbury?
Would Darren have been as confident if the VAR had been Michael Oliver?
These are just questions one wants to put out there, as it does sometimes feel that the on-field referee wants to stick to his original decision but gets railroaded into changing because the VAR is more experienced.
Despite all of that, it was a brilliant away day victory against the ex-Toffee Boss Marco Silva and this game today will be an emotional affair for everyone connected with Everton Football Club.
All the best, Blue Scousers!
Everton’s remaining fixtures-
Southampton H
Newcastle A
Everton sit in 13th place with 42 points but can’t get any higher than 13, as Crystal Palace in 12th, have already accrued 49 points.
Southampton gained a valuable point from a draw by a 0-0 score against Man City at St Mary’s on Saturday.
In a ‘Backs Against The Wall’ display, the Saints shut out Erling Haaland and the rest to earn that 1 point, which gives Southampton 12 for the campaign with 2 games remaining, meaning Derby County are still officially the ‘Worst Team in Premier League History’!
Southampton sit at the bottom with 12 points from 36 games played.
‘Oh, when the Saints go marching on!’
Marching back to the Championship.
Southampton’s remaining fixtures-
Everton A
Arsenal H
It was Russell Martin’s Saints that gained the home victory over Sean Dyche’s Toffees when these two met at St Mary’s in November.
A single Adam Armstrong goal gave Southampton the win from a 1-0 scoreline.
Russell and Sean will be watching this game on the 55-inch in their respective homes, leaving the stress of being Manager to David Moyes and Simon Rusk.
Betfred offer Everton at Odds On 2/5, the Draw at 18/5 and 6/1 for Southampton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of ‘2 Up Early Payout’ but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, Everton at Odds On 4/11, the Draw at 18/5 and 5/1 for Southampton to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.

WEST HAM v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
14.15 in England
Sky Sports
West Ham hammered Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen with a goal in each half, giving Graham Potter’s Men the victory from a 2-0 scoreline.
The win lifted West Ham above Manchester United and Tottenham into 15th place, now with 40 points from 36 games completed.
Whilst it was a great achievement, it was only against a very poor Manchester United team that has now lost 9 home games this season.
West Ham’s remaining fixtures-
Nottingham Forest H
Ipswich A
Nottingham Forest grabbed a draw from the jaws of victory against Leicester on Sunday.
After conceding a Foxes goal, Morgan Gibbs-White scored an equaliser to take both teams in level at the break.
Chris Wood then got his obligatory goal to put Forest in front, however, when the win looked to be certain, Leicester scored a 2nd in the 81st minute and with no further goals, both gained a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.
Nottingham Forest’s remaining fixtures-
West Ham A
Chelsea H
The result did appear like a defeat after the game, with a few of the Forest players and staff showing some negative emotions, even prompting the owner, Big Evangelos Marinakis, to storm onto the pitch and make his feelings known to whoever was listening.
To be fair, a lot has been made about this incident, with GNev and the rest at Scouse Sports condemning Mr Marinakis, however, the Big Lad (and he is Big) is entitled to show a bit of passion and emotion as he’s ploughed a few quid into Nottingham Forest and was just annoyed at the now real possibility of missing out on Champions League Qualification.
That said, Forest will play in Europe, however, it’s not known in what competition just yet.
Nottingham Forest gained the home victory over West Ham when the Hammers travelled up the M1 to the City Ground.
Chris Wood scored the opener to give Forest a lead at the interval.
Edson Alvarez received 2 Yellow Cards in the 39th and 45th minute to ultimately get the Red, enabling the lad to put the kettle on for the half-time cup of tea.
The extra man eventually took its toll on the West Ham players with 2nd-half goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina giving Nuno’s Tricky Trees the win over Julen’s Hammers by a 3-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer West Ham at 9/5, the Draw at 23/10 and 7/5 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of 2 Up Early Payout but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, West Ham at 17/10, the Draw at 23/10 and 5/4 for Nottingham Forest to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.

BRENTFORD v FULHAM
15.00 in England
Brentford gained a narrow victory over Ipswich at Portman Rd on Saturday.
A Kevin Schade goal, scored in the 18th minute, was enough to give the Bees the win from a 1-0 scoreline.
After struggling when playing away from the GTech at the beginning of the season, Brentford are now the Form Team on the road, gaining 22 points from a possible 27, with 7 Wins, 1 Draw and 1 Loss.
Brentford sit in 8th place with the same 55 points as Brighton but hold that vital 8th spot on goal difference.
Nottingham Forest, who are currently in 7th place, have 62 points, so cannot be caught and have guaranteed a European place for next season.
8-Brentford 55 points, scored 63 and conceded 53, (plus+10).
9- Brighton 55 points, scored 59 and conceded 56, (plus+3).
10- Bournemouth 53 points, scored 55 and conceded 43, (plus+12).
11- Fulham 51 points, scored 51 and conceded 50, (plus+1).
12- Crystal Palace 49 points, scored 46 and conceded 48, (minus-2).
Palace can gain a maximum of 55 points but would need all of Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth to lose their remaining two games and overturn that minus-2 goal difference, to overhaul the 3, which is extremely unlikely.
Both Brentford and Fulham cannot lose their remaining two as they face each other today, meaning either, one will get 3 points and one will get 0 points, or both will get a point apiece if a draw occurs.
Fulham can get to 57 with a win today and a win in the finale, however, the final game is against Man City, so that could be unlikely too.
These are the European permutations for the Top Eight teams.
The Top Five earn a place in the Champions League, with the Europa League winners also gaining entry.
As the Final is between Manchester United and Tottenham, that guarantees 6 English Teams in next season’s elite European Competition.
The two Europa League places go to 6th place (currently Aston Villa) and the FA Cup Winners.
If Man City finish in the Top Six and win the FA Cup, the 2nd Europa League place goes to the team finishing 7th (currently Nottingham Forest).
If Crystal Palace win the FA Cup, they will be in the Europa League.
Newcastle currently have the Europa Conference League place due to winning the Carabao Cup, however, if Eddie’s Magpies finish in the Top Six, the Europa Conference League place would go to those finishing 8th.
If Chelsea win the Europa Conference League but finish outside of the Top Six, Chelsea would be in the Europa League and there would be no one in the Conference League.
So basically, for the team that finishes 8th (currently Brentford) to compete in next season’s Europa Conference League, it’s hoped that Man City win the FA Cup and finish in the Top Six.
Brentford’s remaining fixtures-
Fulham H
Wolves A
Fulham suffered a home defeat against Everton on Saturday.
Despite Raul Jimenez scoring the opener, Fulham conceded 3 times to ultimately suffer the loss from a 3-1 scoreline.
As shown above, Fulham sit in 11th place with 51 points, having an outside chance of qualifying for Europe, however, a lot of results have to go the Cottagers’ way for the Passports to come out next season.
Fulham’s remaining fixtures-
Brentford A
Man City H
It was Fulham that gained the West London Bragging Rights when Brentford visited Craven Cottage on Mischievous Night (4th of November).
Vitaly Janelt scored for Brentford to give the Bees a lead at the interval.
With 90 minutes up on the clock, it appeared that Brentford were going to get the win, however, Harry Wilson scored, not only one goal but two, in the 91st and 98th, to give Fulham all 3 points from a 2-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Brentford at slight Odds On 4/5, the Draw at 3/1 and 11/4 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of 2 Up Early Payout but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, Brentford at Odds On 8/11, the Draw at 3/1 and 5/2 for Fulham to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.
Betfred offer 7/1 that Kevin Schade Scores First and 7/5 that Brentford Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.

LEICESTER v IPSWICH
15.00 in England
The Battle for 18th Place.
Granted not the catchiest of headlines but basically, the team that can manage a win today will sit in 18th place with 1 game remaining.
Leicester spoiled the Nottingham Forest Champions League party on Sunday, snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat.
Conor Coady scored the opener for the Foxes in the Sunday Sunshine at the City Ground.
Forest then scored twice and with time running out, Facundo Buonanotte popped up with the equaliser to give both East Midlanders a share of the points.
Forest would have had 1 foot in the Champions League for next season if they had held on for the win but the Foxes spoiled that particular scenario, leaving the Tricky Trees in a tricky position hoping that results go their way in the attempt to make the Top Five.
That’s not Leicester’s concern with Ruud’s Boys heading back to the Championship, sitting in 19th place with the same 22 points as today’s opponents from the 36 games completed.
Leicester’s remaining fixtures-
Ipswich H
Bournemouth A
Ipswich suffered another defeat on Saturday, this time against Brentford at Portman Rd.
A single Bees goal scored in the 1st-half was enough to inflict the loss by a 1-0 score.
That leaves Ipswich in 18th place with the same 22 points as today’s hosts.
Ipswich’s remaining fixtures-
Leicester A
West Ham H
In the fixture at Portman Rd back in November, both teams shared the points from a draw by a 1-1 score.
After a goalless 1st-half, Leif Davis scored for Ipswich in the 55th minute before Jordan Ayew got a very late equaliser for Leicester in the 94th minute.
Kalvin Phillips (remember him?) did receive 2 Yellow Cards and the subsequent Red in the 77th minute to beat his mates into the showers.
The previous 2 games in last season’s Championship campaign saw both fixtures finish in a draw by the same 1-1 score.
Don’t rule out a 4th 1-1 in a row today.
Betfred offer Leicester at 5/4, the Draw at 13/5 and 9/5 for Ipswich to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of 2 Up Early Payout but at slightly reduced Odds.

ARSENAL v NEWCASTLE
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
Arsenal gained a brilliant point from a draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
After conceding 2 goals and trailing at the break, Gabriel Martinelli scored just after the restart to give the Travelling Gooners hope of a comeback.
Mikel Merino then scored the equaliser in the 70th minute.
Unfortunately for Mr Merino, the Spaniard received a 2nd Yellow Card to go with the first one received earlier in the game, meaning Red and an early bath.
Arsenal then held on and gained a draw from a 2-2 scoreline.
Arsenal stay in 2nd place with 68 points, however, they are now only 2 points ahead of today’s opponents, who are the leaders of the chasing pack.
The winners will be sitting 2nd come the Final Whistle this afternoon.
Arsenal’s remaining fixtures-
Newcastle H
Southampton A
Newcastle cemented their position in 3rd place following a professional victory over Chelsea on Sunday.
Goals from Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, almost 90 minutes apart, gave Eddie Howe’s Magpies the win over Enzo Maresca’s Blues by a 2-0 scoreline.
One says cemented, which may be a little exaggerated but with Man City only managing a draw on Saturday, Newcastle jump up to 3rd place, now with 66 points which is a point ahead of City and 2 points adrift of today’s hosts.
Come kick-off this afternoon, Chelsea will have already played their Game Week-36 affair, so depending on that outcome, the Champions League places will have become a bit clearer.
If Newcastle can gain a win today, it could guarantee a Champions League spot for next season, depending on Chelsea’s result on Friday.
Newcastle’s remaining fixtures-
Arsenal A
Everton H
Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the game in the 12th minute when Arsenal visited St James Park to take on Newcastle last November.
The two then met in the Semi-Final of the Carabao Cup, where Newcastle gained victories both home and away by the same 2-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Arsenal at slight Odds On 19/20, the Draw at 11/4 and 11/4 for Newcastle to come away with all 3-points.

Monday 19th
BRIGHTON v LIVERPOOL
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
Brighton come into this fixture against the New Premier League Champions off the back of a victory against Wolves at Molineux last weekend.
Danny Welbeck scored the opener with Brejan Gruda adding a 2nd late on to give the Seagulls the win over the hosts by a 2-0 scoreline.
That was Danny’s 10th goal of the season, which is the first time that DW has scored 10 Premier League goals in a season, which started in 2008, when the Manc Lad made his debut and scored for Manchester United as a 17-year-old.
Whilst not wanting to be derogatory about Danny, just one 10-goal haul in a season, isn’t prolific and maybe the reason Mr Welbeck got let go by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Brighton are one of the 4 teams that are vying for 8th place-
8-Brentford 55 points, scored 63 and conceded 53, (plus+10).
9- Brighton 55 points, scored 59 and conceded 56, (plus+3).
10- Bournemouth 53 points, scored 55 and conceded 43, (plus+12).
11- Fulham 51 points, scored 51 and conceded 50, (plus+1).
Brighton’s remaining fixtures-
Liverpool H
Tottenham A
Liverpool snatched a draw from the jaws of victory on Sunday in the fixture against Arsenal at Anfield.
Goals from Coady Gakpo and Luis Diaz gave Arne’s Slot Machines a comfortable lead at the break.
However, Mikel’s Young Guns pulled a goal back just after the restart and although Liverpool were in control, Arsenal came back into the game, eventually scoring an equaliser in the 70th minute but then had a player sent off.
Unfortunately for the Anfield Rappers in attendance, their idols couldn’t take advantage of having an extra man with the game fizzling out into a stalemate from a 2-2 scoreline.
The Archbishop was happy.
The Reds stay at the summit with 83 points, waiting for the final 2 games to finish and head off to the Sands with a Bucket and Spade and the Premier League Title in the bag.
The main problem for the Reds is complacency, with not many of the players motivated enough to go out and perform.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has said he’s leaving at the end of the season and is heading to Real Madrid, however, when introduced as a 2nd-half substitute, the Anfield Rappers weren’t happy and started booing the lad.
Bit harsh!
Calm down, Red Scousers, it’s football, it’s happened a million times before and will continue to happen forever and always.
All the best, TAA.
Liverpool’s remaining fixtures-
Brighton A
Crystal Palace H
Liverpool gained a narrow victory over Brighton at Anfield back in November.
Ferdi Kadioglu scored the opener to give the Seagulls a lead at the break.
It was then Arne’s Slot Machines who came out stronger in the 2nd-half with Coady Gakpo and Mo Salah scoring for the home team to give Liverpool the win from a 2-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Brighton at 15/8, the Draw at 13/5 and 6/5 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of 2 Up Early Payout but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, Brighton at 6/4, the Draw at 13/5 and 5/4 for Liverpool to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.

CRYSTAL PALACE v WOLVES
20.00 in England
Despite Crystal Palace preparing for next Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Man City, Oliver’s Eagles gained a great away day victory over Tottenham at the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
Eberechi Eze scored both goals to get the win over Spurs from a 2-0 scoreline.
It could have easily been a game where a team that had made a Final, take their foot off the gas and concentrate more on that Final next week.
Oh, wait a minute, that’s what Tottenham did do, with Ange’s Spurs taking their foot off the gas and concentrating more on that Final next week.
The victory for Palace leaves Oliver Glasner’s men in 12th place with 49 points.
That is only 6 points away from 8th place but a lot of scenarios would need to happen for Palace to finish in that potential European spot.
Crystal Palace will just have to win the FA Cup to have a European Adventure next season.
As the Meer Cats say,
Simples!

Liverpool A
After 7 unbeaten games (6 Wins and a Draw) Wolves suffered back-to-back defeats on Saturday, with the latest loss being against Brighton at Molineux.
The defeat against the Seagulls by a 2-0 scoreline can be slightly excused as Wolves are safe now, sitting in 14 place with 41 points from 36 games.
The highest Wolves could possibly finish is just a place higher in 13th if a victory is achieved from the final two games.
The lowest could be 17th but Manchester United and Tottenham have more important things to worry about than the Premier League finish.
Wolves’ remaining fixtures-
Crystal Palace A
Brentford H
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score when the Eagles travelled up to Molineux last November.
After a goalless 1st-half, Trevoh Chalobah, who was on loan at Palace from Chelsea, scored on the hour mark.
Jorgen Strand Larsen then scored an equaliser after 67 minutes with Joao Gomes adding a 2nd, putting Wolves ahead on 72 minutes.
Marc Guehi scored an equaliser 5 minutes later and with no further goals, both teams gained a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.

MAN CITY v BOURNEMOUTH

Sky Sports
Man City had 72% possession on Saturday against Southampton at the Etihad.
There were a total of 26 Shots by the City players, yet only 5 of those were ‘Shots On Target’.
It’s fair to say that Simon’s Saints just went out to frustrate Pep’s Low Flying Blues and try and gain that vital point, so as not to be the ‘Joint Worst Team in Premier League History!’
That’s just what happened with both teams sharing the points from a draw by a dismal 0-0 score.
Man City remain in the Champions League places, currently sitting in 4th place with
65 points from 36 games completed.
The Top Eight is as follows-
1- Liverpool 83 points.
2- Arsenal 68 points.
3- Newcastle 66 points.
4- Man City 65 points.
5- Chelsea 63 points.
6- Aston Villa 63 points.
7- Nottingham Forest 62 points.
8- Brentford 55 points.
At one point, Forest were in front against Leicester on Sunday, which would have seen Nuno’s Tricky Trees with 64 points, however, the Foxes scored an equaliser to leave the City Ground both with a point apiece.
That Foxes’ goal could have a big bearing on whether Man City finish in the Champions League places.
Rumours Pep Guardiola was sitting at home watching the game wearing a Leicester Shirt with ‘Mahrez’ on the back were fiercely denied.
Man City’s remaining fixtures-
Bournemouth H
Fulham A
Considering Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have to face each other in the final fixture, it should mean that Man City will gain entry into next season’s Champions League.
A victory tonight against the Cherries would confirm that depending on the other Game Week-37 results that will have finished come kick-off at the Etihad.
Bournemouth suffered a home defeat against Aston Villa at the Vitality in the late Saturday Afternoon game.
A single Villa goal scored on the stroke of half-time was the difference, leaving the Cherries with the loss from a 1-0 scoreline.
That result dropped Bournemouth down to 10th place, now with 53 points from the 36 games completed.
Bournemouth’s remaining fixtures-
Man City A
Leicester H
It was Bournemouth that gained the home victory over Man City at the Vitality back in November.
Antoine Semenyo scored after 9 minutes to give the Cherries a lead at the break.
Evanilson then added a 2nd in the 64th minute before Josko Gvardiol pulled a goal back for City in the 82nd minute.
Josko’s goal proved to be just a consolation when time ran out, leaving Andoni’s Bournemouth the win over Pep’s Man City by a 2-1 scoreline.
The two then met in the Quarter-Final of the FA Cup, where City progressed from a victory over the Cherries by the same 2-1 score.
Betfred offer Man City at Odds On 1/2, the Draw at 10/3 and 9/2 for Bournemouth to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer a New Feature of 2 Up Early Payout but at slightly reduced Odds.
***2 Up Odds, Man City at Odds On 8/15, the Draw at 10/3 and 4/1 for Bournemouth to come away early, going 2 Goals Up.

A quick note about the Scottish Pub League, basically for the YankScot over in Seattle.
There’s not much to say other than both Celtic and Rangers gained victories at the weekend (cause they did).
The Green and White Champions inflicted a defeat on Hibernian (who?) on Saturday by a 3-1 scoreline.
The Teddy Bears then played on Sunday and got the victory over Aberdeen (who?) from a 4-0 score.
Nothing much else has happened, other than the place where Braveheart/Swifty was born, that being Falkirk, have been promoted to the Scottish Premier League, so the YankScot will have another team to follow next season.
Rangers could have Steven Gerrard back as Manager for the start of the new campaign in August.
‘He’s Celtic, United but Brendan has decided that the Green Half is the best place to be!’
