Game Week-9
Friday 24th
LEEDS UNITED v WEST HAM
20.00 in England
Sky Sports
‘Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again, Leeds, Leeds are falling apart again!’
Come on, sing along!
The West Yorkshire Puddings saw their White Idols suffer an away defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, with the Clarets getting the victory by a 2-0 scoreline.
Leeds need a Striker, it’s as simple as that and Dominic Calvert-Lewin isn’t the answer.
The Whites will compete and match teams in Defence and Midfield but lack any firepower up front, ultimately costing Leeds United their place in the Premier League unless Daniel brings in someone to score the goals.
After a decent-ish start for Leeds, that’s back-to-back defeats for Daniel Farke’s Men leaving the Whites in 16th place with the same 8 points as Fulham from the opening 8 fixtures.
Things are not going well at the London Stadium.
After a fan protest against the owners, West Ham suffered a defeat against Brentford on Monday Night Football, with the Bees running out winners by a 2-0 scoreline.
The Bubbles do like a moan and have already got rid of Graham Potter but it appears the protests are against the owners not Nuno Espírito Santo.
Graham Potter has now been appointed the Manager of Sweden.
One strange anomaly regarding Monday’s game against Brentford was that Callum Wilson was named as a substitute, however, he sat on the bench for the full 90 minutes, being overlooked by Nuno when West Ham were desperate for a goal.
Nuno even sent on a 20-year-old youngster before Mr Wilson.
That said, the youngster is called Callum Marshall so maybe Nuno sent on the wrong Callum.
West Ham sit in 19th place with 4 points from the opening 8 games completed.
It is good of the Premier League Fixture Compilers to arrange this game for a Friday Night, asking the Bubbles to travel up the M1 to West Yorkshire for an 8 PM kickoff.
It will be past midnight before the boys and girls arrive back in London.
The faithful will definitely be moaning today.
It was January 2023 when West Ham last visited Elland Rd to face Leeds United.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score.
Wilfried Gnonto scored the opener to give Leeds a lead, which was equalised by Lucas Paqueta on the stroke of half-time to take both teams in level at the break.
Gianluca Scamacca scored for West Ham straight after the restart which was then equalised by Leeds’ Rodrigo in the 70th minute.
With no further goals, both teams went home with a point apiece.
West Ham also won the game at the London Stadium, doing the Double over Leeds before the Whites were eventually relegated.
Betfred offer Leeds United at slight Odds On 10/11, the Draw at 5/2 and 3/1 for West Ham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 8/1 that Brenden Aaronson Scores First and 11/4 that Jarrod Bowen Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

Saturday 25th
CHELSEA v SUNDERLAND
15.00 in England
Chelsea gained the expected victory over Nottingham Forest in the early Saturday Afternoon kickoff at the City Ground.
Following a goalless 1st-half, goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James gave Enzo Maresca’s Blues the away-day victory by a 3-0 scoreline.
The only negative to come from the game was that, whilst comfortably being in front, Malo Gusto received a 2nd Yellow Card and the subsequent Red in the 87th minute, leaving Chelsea with 10 Men again.
That’s the 3rd time in the last 4 Premier League games that Chelsea have had a man sent off.
Added to that, the Blues had a player sent off in the Champions League game against Benfica.
That’s definitely something that Enzo Maresca needs to work on, however, saying that, the Gaffer was sent off himself against Liverpool, meaning Enzo was sat in the stands at the City Ground.
So maybe Enzo isn’t the best person to implement discipline on the Chelsea players.
Chelsea sit in 5th place with the same 14 points as Tottenham and Sunderland, all having completed 8 games.
The Blues face Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in Match Day-3 of the Champions League-League Phase.
As mentioned, Sunderland also have 14 points and sit in 7th place purely by having a slightly inferior goal difference to Tottenham and Chelsea.
Sunderland gained a victory over Wolves on Saturday with goals from Nordi Mukiele and one credited to a Wolves player giving the Black Cats the points from a 2-0 scoreline.
It really is a brilliant start to life back in the Promised Land for Regis Le Bris and his team who are quietly going about their business
It was the final game of the 2016/17 season, when Sunderland last ventured South to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.
David Moyes’ Black Cats were already relegated before the fixture against Antonio Conte’s Blues, who got the easy victory by a 5-1 scoreline.
Goals from Willian, Eden Hazard, Pedro and a couple from Michy Batshuayi gave Chelsea the win.
Sunderland’s Javier Manquillo did actually score first to stun the home crowd before Chelsea kicked into gear.
Chelsea won the 2016/17 Premier League Title under Antonio Conte, with Sunderland finishing rock bottom and being relegated under David Moyes.
Betfred offer Chelsea at Odds On 4/9, the Draw at 18/5 and 7/1 for Sunderland to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 7/2 that Joao Pedro Scores First and 16/5 that Wilson Isidor Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

NEWCASTLE v FULHAM
15.00 in England
Newcastle seem to be taking 1 foot forward and 2 feet backwards at the moment.
Eddie’s Magpies are struggling away from St James Park, suffering another defeat, this time against Brighton at the Amex on Saturday.
The New Boy Nick Woltemade did score to equalise an earlier Seagulls goal but Brighton scored again to inflict the defeat on Newcastle by a 2-1 scoreline.
Newcastle have drawn 3 times away from St James Park (Aston Villa, Leeds United and Bournemouth) by the same 0-0 score and then lost once against Brighton, so it does appear that the team are struggling on the road.
That said, in the 4 home games, there have been 2 Wins and 2 Losses, the wins being against Wolves and Nottingham Forest (2 teams in the relegation zone) and the losses being against Liverpool and Arsenal.
Newcastle sit in 14th place with 9 points from the opening 8 games.
Newcastle host Jose Mourinho’s Benfica at St James Park on Tuesday in the Champions League-League Phase.
Fulham sit a place below in 15th with the same 8 points as Leeds United following Saturday’s defeat against Arsenal at Craven Cottage.
It was always going to be a hard game against the current league leaders and Marco Silva will feel his team matched the Gunners in most areas, however, Arsenal scored early in the 2nd-half to gain the victory by a 1-0 scoreline.
Fulham gained the away-day victory over Newcastle when the Cottagers visited St James Park last season.
Jacob Murphy scored to give Newcastle a lead at the break.
Raul Jimenez equalised for Fulham on the hour mark, before Rodrigo Muniz scored the winner in the 82nd minute to give Fulham the win over Newcastle by a 2-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Newcastle at Odds On 8/13, the Draw at 3/1 and 5/1 for Fulham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Nick Woltemade Scores First and 13/8 that Newcastle Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

MANCHESTER UNITED v BRIGHTON
17.30 in England
Sky Sports
When a team are struggling and the Manager is under pressure, probably the best way to try and change that situation is to gain a victory over Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as throwing in wins against Burnley and Sunderland, meaning 4 victories from the last 6 Premier League games.
The first two games saw a defeat against Arsenal and a draw against Fulham so all in all an acceptable set of results from the opening 8 Premier League games.
The defeat in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby has to be included, however, it is sort of forgotten with most now concentrating on the Premier League.
Sunday’s victory over Liverpool at Anfield should be added to the Top 10 Manchester United results of all-time as most will feel that Liverpool were going to win before the game and in truth during the game when Liverpool were the better team and hit the woodwork 3 times.
Bryan Mbeumo scored within 2 minutes of the kickoff which stunned everyone at Anfield and the watching Millions at home.
(This didn’t include the Manchester Ball Thrower who is on holiday in Greece and refused to watch the game, preferring to top up his tan!)
Liverpool had the majority of possession and the most shots on target and when Coady Gakpo equalised in the 78th minute it was then assumed that the home team would push on for the winner.
That wasn’t the case with Harry Maguire heading home from a brilliant Bruno Fernandes cross, giving United the victory over Liverpool by a 2-1 scoreline.
That was United’s first win at Anfield since January 2016, almost 10 years ago, when Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game.
The Iccle Fat Lad from Penistone made the following comment,
‘Manchester United may have won, however, playing 5 at the back and sneaking the odd goal isn’t good enough if United have aspirations this season!’
Fair enough but John Newsome replied,
‘Aspirations for what?
Got to start somewhere and build up, a win against Liverpool at Anfield will do wonders for the team and confidence, got to start somewhere!’
These are both valid points.
It’s an old cliché but United just need to take each game as it comes.
There were interesting negative comments regarding Harry Maguire’s inclusion in the starting eleven, however, those were quickly forgotten when Old Slabhead got on the end of Bruno’s great cross and headed home the winner.
This game against Brighton will probably offer a better insight as to where United are at the moment.
It’s no good going to Anfield and winning, then losing against Brighton at Old Trafford.
United need to build on the results against Chelsea and Liverpool and try and get a victory over Brighton to help Ruben Amorim’s chances of continuing as Manager.
Manchester United sit in 9th place with the same 13 points as Crystal Palace from the opening 8 games completed.
The ex-United Striker Danny Welbeck scored twice on Saturday to give Brighton the victory over Newcastle by a 2-1 scoreline.
Brighton sit just below today’s hosts in 10th, with the same 12 points as Aston Villa from the opening 8 games.
There was a stat offered up over the weekend that stated Danny Welbeck has scored more goals per 90 minutes in his 30s than in his teens and 20s.
Teens- 21 games, 11 starts- 4 goals,
0.34 per 90 minutes.
20s- 206 games, 119 starts- 41 goals,
0.33 per 90 minutes.
30s- 144 games, 101 starts- 36 goals,
0.36 per 90 minutes.
Obviously, stats can be made into whatever the narrative wants to be as Danny played the full 10 years of his 20s but only played 2 years in his teens and 4 years (up to now) in his 30s.
Whatever the stat or the narrative, the Manc Lad should be lauded for a brilliant career in the game and will no doubt want to score against his old employers today.
Brighton got the Double over Manchester United last season, getting the win over Erik Ten Hag’s United at the Amex in Game Week-2 then inflicting a defeat on Ruben Amorim’s United at Old Trafford in January.
Yankuba Minteh scored the opener in the 5th minute at Old Trafford before a converted Bruno Fernandes penalty made the scores level at the break.
Second-half goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter gave Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls the victory over the Red Devils by a 3-1 away-day score.
Betfred offer Manchester United at Evens 1/1, the Draw at 11/4 and 5/2 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 6/1 that Bryan Mbeumo Scores First and 21/10 that Danny Welbeck Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BRENTFORD v LIVERPOOL
20.00 in England
TNT Sports
Brentford gained a brilliant victory over West Ham at the London Stadium on Monday Night Football.
Igor Thiago scored just before the half-time break with Mathias Jensen sealing the win in the 94th minute to give Keith Andrews’ Bees the points from a 2-0 away night score.
Brentford’s last 4 Premier League results have been Lost, Won, Lost and Won, which suggests a Loss today and normally, that could be the case but Liverpool are struggling at the moment so the Bees could sting the Reds.
Brentford sit in 13th place with 10 points from the opening 8 games completed.
Liverpool suffered what could be considered a shock defeat against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
Things didn’t start well for Arne’s Stuttering Slots with Virgil Van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister getting in a tangle within a minute of the kickoff that allowed United to score an early goal.
Alexis ended up with a cut on his head which was caused by Big Virgil.
Whilst it would have been harsh on United, the on-field referee Michael Oliver should have immediately stopped the game with Alexis having a head injury.
That didn’t happen and United went on to score.
Although the game should have stopped, the early goal actually set up the next 90 minutes with Liverpool on the front foot throughout the game.
Betfred offered a ‘Super Boost’ of Mohamed Salah to either ‘Score or Assist’ throughout the game at Odds of Evens 1/1.
Coady Gakpo saw 3 of his attempts hit the woodwork, 2 coming from Mo Salah ‘assists’ with Big Mo also missing a couple of chances to score.
Coady did eventually find the back of the net to equalise but that particular goal wasn’t from a ‘Mo Salah Assist’ meaning Betfred’s Super Boost didn’t come off.
That really is the fine margins in football and betting for that matter, which is why we all love the Beautiful Game!
When Coady Gakpo scored the equaliser, it was assumed by most that Liverpool would push on for the victory, however, not to be, as it was United who got the winner to inflict the defeat on Liverpool by a 2-1 scoreline, the first time the Reds had suffered a loss against United at Anfield in nearly 10 years.
There’s a lot of talk about Liverpool’s players not performing at their best at the moment, which is a factor, however, one needs to remember that Arne Slot basically used all of Jurgen Klopp’s men last season and didn’t need to change much.
This season, Arne has brought in Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Fringpong and Milos Kerkez, trying to find the best starting lineup and incorporate all these excellent players into a Premier League winning team.
In anyone’s language, that’s not going to happen overnight, so folk, especially the Anfield Rappers, just need to be patient and trust Arne Slot to get his best team together.
That may even come by default.
The back line look all over the place but Liverpool do look like a better team with Dominik Szoboszlai at Right Back and Andy Robertson at Left Back.
However, Arne feels Milos is the better, younger option than Andy but are Virgil and Ibrahim Konate secure with Milos Kerkez, it appears from the outside looking in that Big Virgil doesn’t trust his Left Back like he does Andy Robertson.
Although Dominik Szoboszlai is a great Right Back, is that diminishing Dominik’s creativity and should the Hungarian be in Midfield?
That then means that Arne has to use Conor Bradley or Jeremie Fringpong as the Right Back.
Both are great players and Conor has never let Liverpool down.
Jeremie hasn’t had much game time but the same subconscious bias could come from Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahim Konate that at the moment they don’t trust the Full Backs.
The Liverpool faithful just need to be patient and ride this uncertain time, which has seen Arne’s Stuttering Slots suffer 3 Premier League defeats (Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Manchester United) as well as one in the Champions League ( Galatasaray).
Arne’s Reds sit in 3rd place with the same 15 points as Bournemouth from the opening 8 games played.
Liverpool face Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany on Wednesday in Match Day-3 of the Champions League-League Phase, which will see Hugo Ekitike up against his old mates.
In last season’s encounter between these two teams at the GTech Stadium, the score was 0-0 when the clock ticked over the 90-minute mark.
Darwin Nunez then scored twice in injury time to knock the honey out of the home team and give Liverpool the victory by a 2-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Brentford at 18/5, the Draw at 16/5 and Odds On 7/10 for Liverpool to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 4/1 that Alexander Isak Scores First and 6/5 that Liverpool Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

ARSENAL v CRYSTAL PALACE
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
The Eberechi Eze Derby.
Arsenal are now 6 from 8 in the Win Column following another victory on Saturday, this time against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
A single Leandro Trossard goal scored just before the hour mark gave the Gunners their 3rd Premier League win in a row and the 5th in all competitions.
That keeps Arsenal at the Top of the Table with 19 points from the opening 8 games played.
Arsenal host Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in Match Day-3 of the Champions League.
Crystal Palace are also in European action and like Arsenal, stay in London hosting AEK Larnaca in the Europa Conference League-League Phase on Thursday.
Palace played in a brilliant game against Bournemouth at Selhurst Park on Saturday, gaining a point from a draw by a 3-3 score.
After conceding 2 goals and trailing at the break, Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice to level the game before Bournemouth scored a 3rd.
With time running out and what could have been a loss on the cards, Palace were awarded a penalty which Jean-Philippe converted to give himself a hat-trick and the 3rd for the Eagles, which ultimately meant the game ended in a draw.
That point leaves Crystal Palace in 8th place with the same 13 points as Manchester United from the opening 8 games played.
Both teams shared the points from a draw by a 2-2 score when Arsenal hosted Crystal Palace last season.
Jakub Kiwior scored an early opener for the Gunners which was equalised by Eberechi Eze just before the half-hour mark.
Leandro Trossard scored a 2nd for Arsenal to give the home team a lead at the break.
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored an equaliser for Palace in the 83rd minute and with no further goals, both teams earned a point apiece from the Archbishop’s favourite scoreline.
Betfred offer Arsenal at Odds On 4/9, the Draw at 7/2 and 7/1 for Crystal Palace to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Bukayo Saka Scores First and 3/1 that Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores Anytime.

ASTON VILLA v MAN CITY
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Aston Villa got a victory over Tottenham at the New Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
After conceding a Tottenham goal, Morgan Rogers scored to equalise and take both teams in level at the break.
It was then left to Emiliano Buendia to score the winner in the 77th minute, after coming on as a substitute on the hour mark, to give Villa the points from a 2-1 scoreline.
After a tricky start to the season, that was Aston Villa’s 3rd Premier League win in succession and the 5th in all competitions, leaving Unai’s Claret and Blues in 11th place with the same 12 points as Brighton, both having completed the opening 8 fixtures.
Both teams are in European action this week, with Aston Villa heading to the Netherlands on Thursday to face the brilliantly named Go Ahead Eagles in Match Day-3 of the Europa League-League Phase.
Man City are also on a plane, heading to Spain on Tuesday to take on Villarreal in the Champions League.
So two ‘Villas’ in the space of 5 days for Pep’s High Flying Blues.
Man City have quietly gone about their business to climb the table and currently sit in 2nd place with 16 points from the opening 8 games.
On Saturday, Pep’s High Flying Blues also gained their 3rd victory in a row, with a win against Everton at the Etihad by a 2-0 scoreline.
As predicted in this EveryTip column last week.
Erling Haaland scored both goals to get the points, giving the Norwegian/Leeds lad 11 goals for the season so far, which is a brilliant achievement.
Aston Villa gained the home victory over Man City in last season’s fixture at Villa Park.
Jhon Duran scored the Villa opener after 16 minutes to give the home team a lead at the break.
Morgan Rogers added a 2nd midway through the 2nd-half with Phil Foden scoring a late goal in the 93rd minute which turned out to be just a consolation, with Unai’s Claret and Blues getting the win over Pep’s Blues by a 2-1 scoreline.
Betfred offer Aston Villa at 3/1, the Draw at 11/4 and slight Odds On 10/11 for Man City to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 11/4 that Erling Haaland Scores First and 8/5 that Man City Score in Both Halves.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

BOURNEMOUTH v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
Bournemouth played in a very entertaining game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Eli Junior Kroupi scored twice in the 1st-half to give the Cherries a comfortable lead at the break.
Palace then scored twice to level the game before Ryan Christie scored what looked to be the winner in the 89th minute.
Not so, as Bournemouth conceded a penalty in injury time which was converted to give both teams a share of the points from a draw by a 3-3 score.
It was a terrific game for the neutrals that leaves Bournemouth in 4th place with the same 15 points as Liverpool from the opening 8 games played.
It didn’t take long for the hierarchy at Nottingham Forest to sack Ange Postecoglou after the defeat against Chelsea on Saturday (19 minutes following the final whistle against the Blues.)
Big Ange was sacked after just 39 days at the City Ground, which is the 2nd shortest tenure of any Premier League Manager after Sam Allardyce was sacked just 30 days into his job at Leeds United back in 2023.
That said, Mr Allardyce was only employed on a short-term basis to try and keep Leeds in the Premier League, once the season ended and Leeds were relegated, Sam was away, so in theory, Ange Postecoglou’s tenure is the shortest reign of any Premier League Manager.
Big Sam is 70 years old now and probably his Managerial Career is over but strangely enough, Mr Allardyce would have been on the shortlist to come in and save Nottingham Forest who finished Game Week-8 in the relegation zone (18th) with 5 points from the 8 games played, following the defeat against Chelsea by a 3-0 scoreline.
Whoever was in the meeting when the Forest Owner Evangelos Marinakis said,
‘We are going to sack Nuno Espírito Santo and appoint Ange Postecoglou!’
Must have thought,
‘Sorry Evangelos, I thought you had just said-
‘We are going to sack Nuno Espírito Santo and appoint Ange Postecoglou!’
Then followed that up with-
‘Oh, you’re serious!, I thought you were telling a joke!’
Forest have to now get the right person for the next Manager otherwise it could be the Championship for the Tricky Trees next season.
Sean Dyche has been appointed as the New Manager at the City Ground and has history with Forest after starting his career there under Brian Clough.
Sean has also brought in his mates Ian Woan and Steve Stone who both know Forest well after playing for the Tricky Trees.
It will be interesting to see how Sean uses Chris Wood with the New Zealand Striker deciding to leave Turf Moor when Mr Dyche was Manager of Burnley.
Nottingham Forest face FC Porto on Thursday in the Europa League-League Phase
Bournemouth smashed Nottingham Forest at the Vitality last season.
Goals from Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and a Dango Outtara hat-trick gave the Cherries the victory over the Tricky Trees by a 5-0 scoreline.
Betfred offer Bournemouth at Odds On 7/10, the Draw at 3/1 and 4/1 for Nottingham Forest to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 5/1 that Antoine Semenyo Scores First and 15/8 that Bournemouth Win To Nil.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

WOLVES v BURNLEY
14.00 in England
Sky Sports
It’s fair to say that Wolves are struggling at the moment, following another defeat on Saturday, the 6th of the season, this time against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light by a 2-0 scoreline.
It does appear that Vitor Pereira’s position as Manager is safe for the time being but as always, it’s a case of how long the hierarchy will put up with the team losing.
There’s always a fine line between giving a Manager the opportunity to turn things around and continually suffering defeats which will inevitably lead to relegation, which no owners of clubs want.
Wolves sit rock bottom with 2 points from the opening 8 games.
Burnley sit in 17th place with 7 points, just above the relegation zone, following a victory over Leeds United at Turf Moor on Saturday.
A goalless draw was predicted by this EveryTip column last week, mainly due to the fact that both Burnley and Leeds have struggled to score goals this term.
Burnley did score twice with goals from Lesley Ugochucwu and Loum Tchaouna giving Scott Parker’s Clarets the win over Daniel Farke’s Whites by a 2-0 score.
With Wolves struggling to score also, this won’t be a goal fest.
A single Hwang Hee-Chan goal scored just before the half-time interval, gave Gary O’Neil’s Wolves team the victory over Vincent Kompany’s Burnley by a 1-0 scoreline, when Wolves last hosted Burnley in the Premier League.
Betfred offer Wolves at Evens 1/1, the Draw at 23/10 and 14/5 for Burnley to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer slight Odds On 4/5 that Both Teams Don’t Score and 7/4 that there are Under 1.5 Goals.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)

EVERTON v TOTTENHAM
16.30 in England
Sky Sports
Everton suffered the expected defeat against Man City at the Etihad on Saturday.
One says ‘expected’ but the Toffees did have some good chances against City and would probably feel that the 2-0 score was a bit harsh.
That said, it was a loss that leaves Everton in 12th place with 11 points from the opening 8 games played.
Jack Grealish should be back in the starting eleven after sitting out the game against Man City.
Tottenham suffered a home defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Rodrigo Bentancur did score first to give Tottenham an early lead, however, Villa subsequently scored twice to get the away-day victory by a 2-1 scoreline.
That was the first loss in 5 Premier League games, leaving Tottenham in 6th place with the same 14 points as Chelsea (5th) and Sunderland (7th), all having completed the 8 fixtures so far.
Tottenham head to France on Wednesday to face Monaco in Match Day-3 of the Champions League.
Everton got the victory over Tottenham in a 5 goal thriller at Goodison Park last season.
Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye and an Archie Gray OG gave the Toffees a convincing lead at the break.
Tottenham did try to mount a comeback with Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison scoring late on, however, time ran out, giving David’s Toffees the win over Ange’s Spurs by a 3-2 scoreline.
Betfred offer Everton at 7/5, the Draw at 12/5 and 2/1 for Tottenham to come away with all 3-points.
Betfred offer 13/2 that Illman Ndiaye Scores First and 3/1 that Mohammed Kudos Scores Anytime.
(If your pre-match First Goalscorer bet scores First and then scores a Second, Betfred DOUBLE the odds.
If they score a Third, Betfred TREBLE the odds.)
