LIVERPOOL v NORWICH CITY
Friday Night Football live on Sky Sports and its back!
The 2019/2020 Premier League is finally here after a very long hot summer.

The upcoming season will potentially be the most intriguing season of all with the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee or VAR for the first time in the Premier League and Liverpool and Norwich are the first guinea pigs of the controversial system.

The 2019/20 Premier League season will see all 20 Premier League grounds equipped with VAR technology which will allow decisions to be assessed from the VAR hub in Stockley Park, West London.

VAR will be used for ‘clear and obvious errors’ in four areas.

Goals, Penalties, Straight Red Cards and Mistaken Identity. One comment from a female pundit in the recent Women’s World Cup was “Would the decision be overturned if the incident happened in the centre-circle?”
The answer is No.

VAR isn’t for every refereeing decision it’s only for the four main bullet points of goals, penalties, straight red cards and mistaken identity.

This will lead to changes in the viewing experience for fans both in front of the telly and at the ground.

Television Viewers will be able to see what the Video Assistant Referees watch, including an ‘over the shoulder’ angle of the officials in the studio.

The VAR team will be announced in advance, as per the on-field refereeing group. At the ground, a VAR check will appear on the big screens at the 18 Stadiums which are equipped with them such as ‘Checking red card’ ‘Penalty Check’ etc.

When a decision is overturned, a video of the incident will be shown when appropriate.

However, at Anfield and Old Trafford, where both Liverpool and Manchester United bizarrely don’t have big screens, the announcements will be made via the scoreboard and PA.

Liverpool ran Man City close last season in pursuit of their first Premier League title and whilst the Reds will feel disappointed in missing out on the title by just a point, Jurgen and his Reds found consolation in winning their 6th European Cup beating Tottenham 2-0 in Madrid.

Liverpool haven’t had the best of pre-seasons but will put that behind them and should kick-off the new season with pretty much the same players that played in the Champions League Final back in June.

Youngsters Harry Wilson, Rhian Brewster and Sepp Van Den Berg will be pushing for a start.

Mr Reliable James Milner is entering the final year of his current contract and as of yet, has no news on a new contract.

That won’t bother Jim and he will give his all, as always, to the Reds cause, leaving his contract to take care of itself.

Norwich head to Anfield for their first game back in the Premier League after gaining promotion as Champions of the Championship.

Daniel Farke gets the opportunity to pit his wits in the Premier League for the first time and whilst he will be relishing the chance to visit Old Trafford, the Etihad and the rest, surely his eyes must have lit up when this fixture came out and the Canaries first game was to visit Anfield giving Daniel the chance to share the technical area with his fellow German counterpart, Jurgen Klopp.

Whilst there is a 10-year age gap between Daniel and Mr Klipperty, Dan being the younger German in case it wasn’t clear from appearance, both have been at Borussia Dortmund.

Daniel didn’t get to manage the first team at Dortmund like Jurgen but did manage the reserves which gave him the experience to progress.

Norwich took a chance on Daniel and although Norwich gained Promotion to the Promised Land, life at Carrow Rd didn’t start smoothly for Dan.

Norwich appointed Daniel at the end of the 2016/2017 campaign.

Daniel’s first season at Carrow Rd was a moderate affair and after a slow start to the 2018/2019 season, there was the talk of Daniel getting the sack from his job.

Delia and the rest of the heir achy at Norwich resisted the temptation to get rid of Dan who responded by taking the Canaries to the Top of the Championship and subsequent promotion to the Premier League.

Finland’s Teemu Pukki was the stand out player for Norwich in the Championship scoring the goals to win promotion.

Asked whether Teemu was Finnish? The little striker replied, “I’ve only just got started!“ Pukki played for Celtic but never really made the grade in Scotland and went to Denmark to continue his career at Brondby.

Norwich saw something in him and paid just £500,000 for the Finn who has scored more than a goal every two games in the Canaries’ Championship Winning side and will be hoping to shine amongst the big boys.

This fixture hasn’t been played in the Premier League for four years when the result finished in a 1-1 draw, back in September 2015.

Bet 365 offer Liverpool at Odds On 1/7, the Draw at 7/1 and a massive 14/1 for the Canary New Boys to stun the Liver Birds and come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 13/2 for Liverpool to Win 3-0 and 9/2 Mo Salah Scores First.

Bet 365 offer 5/1 that Mo Salah is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer
Home Win 3-0

WEST HAM v MAN CITY
Early Saturday afternoon kick-off live on BT Sports.

West Ham have the honour of hosting the current Premier League Champions in their opener at the London Stadium.

It looks from the pre-season fixtures that Manuel Pellegrini has a decision to make regarding his goalkeeper.

Lukasz Fabianski is the Hammers stopper who finished last season and has played in a couple of the friendlies including the game against Newcastle as part of the Asia Trophy.

However, new recruit, Roberto Jiminez played in the other Asia Trophy game against today’s opponents Man City and the final two pre-season games so could just get the nod ahead of Lukasz for this game against City.

West Ham have a number of new signings such as Roberto, Pablo Fornals and Sebastian Haller but what may be significant and seem like new signings is the return of Manuel Lanzini, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko who all return from an injury-hit season last term.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez is still at West Ham despite rumours of him leaving London and will provide a goal threat given the chance.

Man City will try and do what only one other club has done before and win the Premier League for the third consecutive season.

What will spur Pep’s Pups on to get the third title is the ‘other’ club that are the only ones to win the Premier League three seasons in a row are Manchester United.

What’s remarkable in that is Manchester United, under Sir Alex Ferguson, have won the Premier League title, three times in a row, twice.
1999, 2000 and 2001 and again in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Pep will want to get off to a winning start at the London Stadium and the Citizens will be hoping to see new signing Rodri who made his debut for Man City, coincidently against West Ham in the recent Asia Trophy out in China.

City beat the Hammers 4-1 in the Asia Trophy pre-season friendly tournament.

Raheem Sterling got a couple of goals in the heat of China and could be the main goal scorer for City this season rivalling Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.

Leroy Sane’s future remains a mystery with Bayern Munich still pursuing the German winger. There are rumours circulating that Leroy has agreed personal terms with Bayern yet did play in the Community Shield against Liverpool.

The fee of £150 Million which City are after maybe the reason Leroy is still at the Etihad come the start of the season.

In the city there’s a thousand faces all shining bright and those golden faces are under twenty-five. They wanna say, they’re gonna tell, about the young idea, better listen now they’ve said they’re bit.

Last season, this fixture took place in November and finished in a resounding 4-0 victory for Pep’s Pups.

Leroy Sane got a couple after the David of the Silva’s and Raheem Sterling had put City 2-0 up.

Bet 365 offer West Ham at a massive 10/1, the Draw at 19/4 and Odds On 1/4 for City to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 6/4 that City Win Both Halves and 5/1 Raheem Sterling Scores the First Goal.

Bet 365 offer 12/1 that Raheem Sterling is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

BOURNEMOUTH v SHEFFIELD UNITED
Eddie and the Cherries start their Premier League campaign at home against new boys Sheffield United.

Eddie Howe has brought in a couple of new signings and has gone Dutch and Danish.

Dutch winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld comes into the Vitality from Belgium Club Brugge and Danish midfielder Philip Billing gets a quick return to the Premier League heading South to Bournemouth from West Yorkshire where he was relegated with Huddersfield.

What will be a shame for this encounter with Sheffield United is Bournemouth’s David Brooks will miss the game against his previous club due to damaging his ankle and could be out for 3-months.

Eddie is also left reeling from the news that one of his new signings Lloyd Kelly has also damaged ligaments in his ankle and could be out for a chunk of the opening matches too.

Ryan Fraser is still at Bournemouth despite interest from other suitors which is good news for the Cherries faithful but Eddie is still not certain as to whether Ryan will stay.

Callum Wilson is going nowhere and is in sharp form at the moment and with Callum in the side, Bournemouth will always have a chance.

The Premier League Fixture Compilers, who must have a couple of Sheffield Wednesday fans amongst them, have decided to send the Blades the long-distance South to Bournemouth for their opening game after returning to the Top Flight.

Some of the Blunts faithful will be asking work colleagues whether they need their passport for the long trip to Bournemouth.

Ironically, new Sheffield United signing Lys Mousset has just made the long trip North from Bournemouth to Sheffield and now has to turn around and head back.

The Blades manager Chris Wilder is a Sheffield lad and a lifelong Sheffield United fan so for him, managing in the Premier League must be like winning the lottery.

It’s 12-years since the Red half of Sheffield were in the Top Flight.

The last time Sheffield United were in the Premier League was under the stewardship of another lifelong Blade fan Neil Warnock.

Chris has taken a chance on ex-Manchester United youngster, Ravel Morrison.

Ravel has lost his way over the past few seasons but in a recent pre-season game at Oakwell, Ravel got game time coming on for the last 20-minutes.

Although looking very overweight and lacking match fitness, Ravel’s 20-minute cameo did show that he is a class above and at only 26 could just get his career back on track if he sorts his discipline out.

Chris has signed a good few players and has invested in a number of strikers which possibly says that the Blades may concede goals but will try and score plenty themselves.

Scotland International Ollie McBurnie arrives at Bramall Lane as Sheffield United’s record signing.

At £20 Million, Ollie is also Scotland’s most expensive player.

Although Ollie has chosen Scotland to play his International football, the ex-Swansea striker is a native Yorkshireman so will fit in well in Sheffield.

McBurnie had a very successful loan spell scoring 9-goals for Barnsley FC back in 2018 and is remembered fondly at Oakwell.
Although Ollie only played for the Reds from February to May of that season, he was voted Barnsley’s Player of the Year.

It’s rumoured Ollie only signed for Sheffield United because they are not in the same Division as Barnsley and did not want play against his favourite club, which, if he had stayed at Swansea, he would have had to visit the fortress that is Oakwell. Another new Premier League fixture with the arrival of Sheffield United to the Top Flight.

The last meeting between these two clubs was a fixture played six years ago, played in League One, the third tier of English football which Sheffield United ran out 1-0 winners.

Bet 365 offer Bournemouth at slight Odds On 10/11, the Draw at 13/5 and the same 13/5 for Sheffield United to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 2/1 that Bournemouth Score in Both Halves and 4/1 Sheffield United Score in Both Halves.

Bet 365 offer 40/1 that Callum Wilson is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Draw 2-2

BURNLEY v SOUTHAMPTON
Burnley start the 2019/2020 season without the baggage of the dreaded Europa League.

Last season’s early European adventures took its toll on Burnley even though Sean Dyche won’t publicly admit that.

Privately Sean must be relieved that he can start a new season on a Saturday after not visiting Azerbaijan the previous Thursday.

Sean’s main Transfer dealings this summer have come between the sticks with Tom Heaton departing Turf Moor and heading to Villa Park and ex-Leeds United spy Bailey Peacock-Farrell coming in as replacement stopper to Nick Pope.

Burnley do have a third ‘keeper on the books with the experienced Joe Hart still on the payroll.

Ex-Stoke defender Erik Pieters comes into the Burnley squad and Jay Rodriguez returns to Turf Moor where he started his career back in 2007.

Whilst in his early days at Turf Moor, Jay made a brief pilgrimage to Oakwell and had a month playing for Barnsley FC scoring on his debut for the Reds.

Jay has scored a couple of goals in Burnley’s pre-season friendlies and could be a good foil for Chris Wood.

Big Chris has also spent a month on loan at Oakwell so at least the two will have something to talk about.

Southampton head the long-distance North to Turf Moor to kick-off Wreck-It Ralph Hasenhuttl’s first full season as the Saints boss.

Saints new signing Moussa Djenepro got 10-minutes under his belt in a pre-season game against Cologne after his exploits for Mali in the African Cup of Nation.

The Saints have had a pretty decent pre-season but it could be argued that they haven’t really played anyone of note and this will be the first real test.

Danny Ings, James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond could be the real stars for Ralph this term and with a solid defence could cause problems for a number of teams.

Whilst the first game of any season doesn’t dictate what will happen for the remainder, this game against Burnley could be a real yardstick for the Southampton faithful to see just exactly how far Ralph’s Saints have progressed.

Last season’s game at Turf Moor between the Clarets and the Saints finished 1-1.

Ashley Barnes scored an injury-time penalty to cancel out Nathan Redmond’s opener.

Bet 365 offer Burnley at 3/2, the Draw at 11/5 and 15/8 for Southampton to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 6/1 for Chris Wood to Score the First Goal and 15/2 that Burnley Win 1-0.

Bet 365 offer 150/1 that Chris Wood is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Home Win 1-0

CRYSTAL PALACE v EVERTON
Crystal Palace start the new campaign at home against Everton but are without their young Right-Back Aaron Wan-Bissaka who has headed North to Manchester and joined Ole’s Wheels.

The big question for the Eagle Ultras is will Wilfred Zaha still be at Selhurst Park come the start of the season?
After losing Aaron the Palace faithful do not want to lose their star man who apparently wants to play in the Champions League.

It was muted that Wilf wanted to join Arsenal who have enquired and made a couple of below-par offers for Wilf’s services, however, what Wilfred Zaha hasn’t grasped is that the Gooners are not in the Champions League and won’t be anytime soon.

Roy Hodgson has only made one signing bringing in Jordan Ayew from Swansea.

With the loss of Aaron, the potential loss of Wilfried and Jordan Ayew being the only in-comer, the Palace fans must be scratching their heads and only have the prospect of a relegation battle to look forward to.

Everton are being tipped to be the team that breaks into the Top Six after quietly going about their Summer business.

Premier League winner Fabian Delph makes the short distance from the Etihad to Goodison Park and Andre Gomes makes his move from Barcelona permanent after his initial loan period on Merseyside.

Marco Silva appeared to finally get the Toffees faithful on his side towards the end of last season putting together some eye-catching performances none other than a convincing 4-0 victory over Manchester United.

Jonas Lossl has been brought in from Huddersfield as a back-up goalkeeper to Jordan Pickford.

Everton have splashed out £25 Million on ex-Juventus and Italy striker Moise Kean and are hoping some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s skill has rubbed off onto the young Italian whilst playing with CR7 in Turin.

It was rumoured that Everton were considering a bid for Zaha.

Imagine the Eagle Ultras faces if Wilfried ran out at Selhurst Park in an Everton shirt.

These two met towards the end of last season at Selhurst Park with both teams failing to find the net in a very entertaining 0-0 draw.

Hopefully for the faithful, at least one of the teams can find the back of the net today.

Bet 365 offer Crystal Palace at 9/5, the Draw at 9/4 and 3/2 for Everton to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 3/1 that there are Over 3.
5 Goals and 14/1 that it’s a Draw and Over 2.
5 Goals.

Bet 365 offer 150/1 that Luka Milivojevic is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Draw 2-2

WATFORD v BRIGHTON
Watford have only just recovered from the mauling they endured in the FA Cup
Final against Man City.

After playing so well to get to the showpiece final at Wembley, Javi Gracia’s men peaked against Wolves in the Semi-Final and watched as Pep’s Premier League winners took them apart to claim the domestic Treble.

After losing 6-0 against City it would be thought that Javi would want a complete overhaul of his Hornets, however, Javi Gracia ( it’s Gracia, not Garcia) has only purchased one player that of Craig Dawson from West Bromwich Albion.

It’s quite conceivable that Watford will bring players in, in the next few days before the Transfer Window slams shut but Javi must be happy with his squad.

Keeping Gerard Deulofeu at Vicarage Rd is just as important as signing players as Gerard has the skill and quality to help Watford stay in that mid-table group of teams outside the Top Six.

Another decent cup run will be on the cards which is probably the most Reg Dwight and the Boys could hope for.

Brighton head to Vicarage Rd for this opener following on from the bizarre decision to get rid of Chris Hughton and appoint Graham ‘Harry’ Potter as manager.

Graham has no Premier League experience and just a season’s English football experience after spending last term as manager of Championship side Swansea.

Harry’s most famous achievement up to now is leading his Norwegian club Ostersund to a brilliant 2-1 victory against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in the Europa League.

The downside to that victory was the Gunners were already 3-0 up from the first-leg so ultimately the victory at the Emirates counted for nothing but did get Graham a job in Wales then a job in the Premier League.

The Seagulls have not made that many new signings but have spent £15 Million on Leandro Trossard from the mighty Genk.

What’s bizarre about Brighton’s dealings this summer is they have kept old-timer Glenn Murray and let go Anthony Knockaert leave.

Glenn scores goals and is a great player but there’s only so much the old man can do.

He’s 36 in a couple of weeks which a lot of football fans around the country won’t believe because he actually looks 48.

The Brighton faithful may have a different style of football to watch this season under Harry Potter but it’s all well and good playing nice football if ultimately the team lose.

Coincidentally this fixture was also the first game of the 2018/2019 season and two Roberto Pereyra goals either side of the halftime break gave Watford the winning start.

Bet 365 offer Watford at slight Odds On 9/10, the Draw at 12/5 and 3/1 for Brighton to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 6/1 that Watford Score a Penalty and 22/1 that Brighton Miss a Penalty.

Bet 365 offer 200/1 that Gerard Deulofeu is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Home Win 3-1

TOTTENHAM v ASTON VILLA
Late Saturday afternoon kick-off live on Sky Sports.

Tottenham start their 2019/2020 season off the back of reaching the Champions League Final last term.

Unfortunately for the Spurs faithful they came up short in Madrid against Liverpool and lost the final 2-0.

That run to the Final was tinged with luck but it did prompt Daniel Levy to put his hands in his deep pockets and pay a Tottenham record fee for Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham have paid in the region of £60 Million for Tanguy Ndombele but haven’t, as yet, purchased anyone else.

There is talk of Ryan Sessegnon coming into the Chas and Dave Memorial Stadium and that could happen before Thursday’s Deadline.

Ryan didn’t feature in Fulham’s opening day loss away at Barnsley so talks could be going on behind the scenes.

Fulham definitely missed young Ryan at Oakwell as the new-look Reds, who were in League One last season, outplayed the team that had just come down from the Premier League and got a great 1-0 victory.

Tottenham will be there or there a-bouts come next May.

Aston Villa are back in the big time after a 3-year adventure in the Championship.

Dean Smith has gone big with his signings bringing in no less than 10-new faces and it will be interesting to see who starts against Tottenham.

That’s a lot of money spent at close to £140 Million but there are a lot of players, rather than one big signing and none of the names really stand out as World Class that would break into Mauricio Pochettino’s side
It’s more than likely that Dean will choose Tom Heaton as his goalkeeper with last season’s ‘keeper Jed Steer being the back-up.

The rest is simply a lottery.

Signing Tyrone Mings permanently is a plus and if pre-season is anything to go by, Dean has kept a few of the players that gained promotion such as Jack Grealish, Conor Hourihane, Big Tyrone and John McGinn as well as integrating a few new boys such as Wesley, Jota, Matt Targett and Tom between the sticks.

Wesley and Jota come in and have the distinction of only having one name.

Another new fixture with Aston Villa returning to the Premier League after a 3-season hiatus.

Tottenham comfortably beat the Villains at the old White Hart Lane back in November 2015.

Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli and Harry Kane scored the Spurs goals with Jordan Ayew getting the Villa consolation in a 3-1 victory for Tottenham.

Bet 365 offer Tottenham at Odds On 3/10, the Draw at 17/4 and 9/1 for Aston Villa to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 7/2 that Harry Kane Scores First and 12/1 that Tottenham Win 3-1.

Bet 365 offer 4/1 that Harry Kane is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Home Win 3-1

LEICESTER v WOLVES
This game has been moved to the Sunday because of Wolves participating in the dreaded Europa League.

What’s commonly referred to as the David Attenborough Derby, Brendan’s Foxes host Nuno’s Wolves at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester, like Everton, are one of the teams who are being quietly talked about as a team that could break into the Top Six.

The pundits are all saying ‘Brendan Rodgers could quite conceivably get Leicester into the upper echelons of the Premier League.

What those so-called pundits are forgetting is Leicester were actually top of the upper echelon of the Premier League only three seasons back so, in reality, Leicester should be in the Top Six on a regular basis.

Brendan has convinced Youri Tielemans to stay at the King Power after a successful loan spell but has lost his England Centre-Back Harry Maguire who has become the most expensive defender ever following his £80 Million move to Manchester United.

The 2015/2016 Premier League Winners are well equipped to challenge the likes of Everton for a Top Six spot and Brendan’s decision to leave Celtic for a proper job may have upset Rod Stewart but his style of play will appease the Foxes faithful.

Wolves did what Fulham and Cardiff couldn’t do after gaining promotion to the Premier League as a threesome and avoided relegation back to the Championship.

Not only did Wolves avoid relegation, they actually finished 7th in the Premier League and gained entry into the dreaded Europa League.

Sean Dyche was on the phone straight away to Nuno but Nuno didn’t respond.

Wolves first qualifying game in the Europa League was a trip to Ireland.

Maybe Nuno will be more responsive to Sean once Wolves are spending every Thursday night in Kazakhstan.

Nuno hasn’t really added to his squad other than making the loan signings of Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker permanent and bringing in youngster Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan for around £16 Million.

Wolves are one of the teams outside of the Top Six who can gate crash that particular party but Everton, Watford and Leicester will be the main rivals so a victory here will go along way in Wolves progress.

Last season, this fixture was played in August too with the Foxes beating Wolves 2-0. Matt Doherty, unfortunately, scored an own goal for Wolves and James Maddison got the 2nd just before the break.

Sheffield Superstar Jamie Vardy was got his marching orders midway through the second half for a reckless challenge on the unfortunate Matt Doherty who was definitely having a bad day.

Bet 365 offer Leicester at 13/10, the Draw at 11/5 and 21/10 for Wolves to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 6/1 that Jamie Vardy Scores First and 4/1 for Wolves to Score in Both Halves.

Bet 365 offer 20/1 that Jamie Vardy is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Draw 2-2

NEWCASTLE v ARSENAL
Early Sunday afternoon football live on Sky Sports.

Newcastle entertain Arsenal at the start of a new dawn for the Toon Army with fans favourite Rafa Benitez deciding that he likes Chinese food more than Newcastle Broon Ale.

Rafa’s chosen the Chinese Dollar and Mike Ashley is probably thinking good riddance.

Mike has actually employed a genuine Geordie to manage his Magpies and put his faith in Manchester United legend and all-round fitness fanatic Steve Bruce.

Newcastle has invested in a couple of players bringing in Joelinton for a club record of £40 Million.

However, Mike has allowed Ayoze Perez to leave and join Leicester recouping most of the £40 Million spent on Joelene.

The Toon Army are already in the process of composing a Dolly Parton song for Joelinton.

As of now, Sean Longstaff is still a Newcastle player and Steve Bruce will want the Transfer Window to slam shut before Mike sees Manchester United’s pennies.

Arsenal are the enigma of the Premier League having one of the richest men in the world as the owner, one of the biggest grounds in the country and an establishment that has solid foundations yet supposedly only had £45 Million to spend this summer.

A lot of Gooners will dive straight in like Tom Daley at London 2012 saying “we’ve just bought Nicolas Pepe for £73 Million, William Saliba for £27 Million, Gabriel Martinelli for £6 Million and Dani Ceballos on loan “
However, to the Goooners and in truth, Nicolas Pepe’s transfer fee is going to be paid in instalments at £3 over 24 Million Years, William Saliba has gone back to his selling club on loan so payment is deferred and the £6 Million is nothing nowadays.

In reality, Arsenal couldn’t afford the £75 Million Crystal Palace wanted for Wilfried Zaha as Crystal Palace wanted the dollar in full not on the never-never.

An establishment as big as Arsenal Football Club should not be doing business this way.

One of their best players over the past few years has been allowed to leave for nothing.

Aaron Ramsay was allowed to join Juventus for free.

Danny Welbeck has left the Emirates too for nothing.

Arsenal should beat teams like Newcastle even away from the Emirates but it’s the Top Six the Gooners faithful want to overhaul and for the time being, they may just have to settle for booking trips to Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan on a Thursday Night.

At St James Park last season, Arsenal came away with the points beating Newcastle 2-1.

Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil gave the Gunners a 2-0 lead in the second-half before Ciaran Clark scored late to give the Toon Army brief hope of a comeback.

Bet 365 offer Newcastle at 7/2, the Draw at 13/5 and slight Odds On 4/5 for Arsenal to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 5/1 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Scores First and 6/4 that Newcastle Win Either Half.

Bet 365 offer 8/1 that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the 2019/2020 Premier League Leading Scorer.

Away Win 1-3

MANCHESTER UNITED v CHELSEA
Late Sunday afternoon football live on Sky Sports sees a cracker of a fixture at Old Trafford to bring the much-missed opening weekend of the new Premier League season to a close.

So Manchester United finally got the signing of Harry Maguire over the line with an £80 Million take it or leave it bid.

It’s on good authority with the tape recordings of the conversations between the two clubs over the past few weeks about the transfer of Big Harry being leaked that Leicester were very, very reluctant to let Harry leave the King Power.

A source ( not sure if it’s HP or Ketchup ) let lose the tapes and here is the transcript.

Ed Woodward, Manchester United Chief Executive
“ We would like to purchase the Sheffield Redundant Steel Worker and Man with an exceptionally large head, that is Harry Maguire and will offer you £60 Million of the Queens Currency.

The Equaliser had a very quick rebuff from his counterpart at Leicester.

Susan Whelan, Chief Executive at the King Power
“ Harry Maguire is simply not for sale at any price and we value the England Centre Half as priceless, Brendan Rodgers has categorically stated that Big H is a big part of his plans.

A week later Edward Woodward was back with an improved offer.

“£70 Million of your English Pounds my good Foxes for the services of Dee Dar Harry Maguire.

Sue was again straight with The Equaliser with her reply.

“ We would like to again reiterate our stance on the Harry Maguire Transfer to the Pink Devils rumours and once again place on record that the ex-Blunt is not for sale and Brendan Rodgers, who by the way, Rod Stewart has only just stopped drying his eyes because Brendan has decided that Leicester is the best place to be, only came to the King Power on the understanding that Harry Maguire was not sold.

Cut to a week before the Transfer Window closes and Ed Woodward, who didn’t travel to America with United due to not wanting to bump into Denzil Washington, went back to Leicester with yet another offer.

“ We will pay £80 Million for the ex-Sheffield United and Hull superstar and it is a ‘take it or leave it’ offer.

Susan Whelan, Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the Leicester heir achy simply replied.

“ Bye Harry! “
Ole has been backed and the signings of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Dan James and Big Harry along with the possibility of Paulo Dybala coming to Manchester will go along way in appeasing the United faithful.

Paulo Dybala’s Transfer may not happen due to the Argentinian’s wage demands but Romelu Lukaku will still leave United.

Paul Pogba is still at Old Trafford.

The faithful are split on Paul.

Half want him to go and would happily drive him to Spain or Italy or even Accrington.

Yet if Paul plays to his potential and Ole can keep him happy, Paul is an integral part of Manchester United’s future.

United haven’t lost a pre-season game which could mean nothing but this first game against newly-named Frank Lampard’s Chelsea will be a terrific indicator as to where United could finish in the bigger Premier League picture.

As already stated, Chelsea are now renamed as Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and because of a Transfer Embargo couldn’t bring in anyone in the summer.

Christian Pulisic has come in due to being signed back in January and Mateo Kovacic who spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge was done and dusted last season.

Frank will rely on his youngsters such as Christian, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi as well as regulars such as Pedro and Willian.
It’s inconceivable to think Frank Lampard’s Chelsea can win the Premier League above Man City and Liverpool but the Blues won’t be far from a Top Six Finish.

This fixture last term was one of the last games of the season finishing in a 1-1 draw.

Chelsea old boy Juan Mata had put United in front early on before Marcus Alonso replied for the Blues just before half-time.

Bet 365 offer Manchester United at 11/10, the Draw at 23/10 and 5/2 for Chelsea to come away with all 3-points.

Bet 365 offer 5/2 that United Score in Both Halves and 11/4 that United Win to Nil.
